2011 Montero kickdown not working!

Hello, I have a 2011 Montero 2.8 turbo diesel, automatic and at first I thought the transmission was slipping, but after a few days in the shop we discovered the transmission is fine. My mechanic says it's the kickdown. As I search other threads, everyone says adjust the cable, but this is a 2011 model that no longer uses a cable. It uses a sensor? My mechanic says we need to find another sensor. Has anyone dealt with this yet? Any ideas on other things that could be done to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. Oh, he also kind of rotated the sensor and it got worse, so he turned it back, but it's as far as it can go and I still have the problem...

Hi mrgreenej....since you and your mechanic already know which sensor is at fault, why not change that sensor? There would be no other way to fix that...sensors are used for proper operation of your transmission. I remember something like that happened to me before,my mercedes would stick in first gear and would not shift up...got scared as it may be an expensive repair, found out it was just the kick down switch getting stuck hence the car thinks i'm always flooring the accelerator.
