03 montero/pajero plenum butterflies

i have read that the intake butterflies can be an issue and to just take them out. tig weld holes afterwards. anyone think this is a good proactive thing to do. any instructions.

I have a 2001 montero ltd...is it right to assume that my engine has those intake butteflies too?

I guess I'd have to have those butteflies removed the same time I change my spark plugs. I just wish removing the intake manifold won't be that big a job....
