I bought mitsubishi outlander 2016 SE and i was planning to purchase a Ziebart rust proofing they cost me $549 do you think this is a good idea? because i was planning to keep the car forever i live in chicago, illinois the weather here is bad during winter and the road is salty much.
rustproofing has to be done soon after purchase as possible
each year the outlander will be is inspected and recoated for a fee
you need to ask the question
Does the coating that is offered at $549 protect the outlander from salt corrosion
if so how many years guarantee against salt
I have had both vehicles done, I have not gotten the Outlander re-inspected since well it's age, and I missed an inspection date so the lifetime warranty on the coating is null and void. My frontier has to be inspected every two years or I run into the same issue.
The rust proofings also don't cover everything. Rusting due to things like road rash/sand blasting is not covered, ie they don't really salt in my region but they as liberal on the sand. The Sand slowly sandblasts the car when it is flung by the wheels and eats into things over time, and rusting form that isn't covered.
Personally I'll continue to do it to any future vehicles as well. And as chain mentioned off the lot coating is much better than having it done after the fact.
Hi, can you please share with me the OTD you paid for to get this 2016 SE?
Did you also get other add'l packages? and your state?
Thanks!
I want to pull the trigger but want to know more about pricing.
