Smile Greetings from Romania

Hey everyone!
Just signed up to the forum yesterday. Never thought i'd still be able to find a forum with information about Space Stars.

I'm the proud owner of a dark blue 1999 Space Star with a 1.3 l heart of gold. She's my baby, my pride and joy. Mitzi (lame nickname, i know... but in romanian it sounds similar to ”māță”, which means "cat") was donated to me by a good friend. It used to belong to his father, who passed away a few years ago. Even though to them it was "just an old bucket of bolts", you can tell she's been somewhat taken care of.
To me, she's so much more though.... i never thought i could cruise around in so much comfort for such little gas. In town i'm getting around 6.5 l / 100 km. Out on the open road, she manages fine with 4.3. That's almost like driving for free, right?

And it's not just the gas mileage... she's quiet, reliable and always outside my apartment, just waiting for another drive. I genuinely feel comfy and relaxed behind the wheel. I have a genuine emotional attachment to her and try to take care of her, as much as i can afford it.

In the 3 years i've had her, i changed the tie rod ends, battery, lower ball joints, sway bar bushings, CV boots and the usual service parts (oil+filter, spark plugs, coolant, air filter).

I try to do all repairs by myself, but certain operations are beyond my capabilities (be it tools or know-how) so i call on mechanics for stuff i can't handle on my own.

The only criticism i have is that she does NOT like amateurs working on her. Broke my fair share of wrenches and plastic clips trying to take stuff apart.

Anyway, thanks for letting me be a member.... i'm going to start flooding the space star section with a torrent of questions pretty soon. Also, i'll throw my 2 cents in whenever somebody has a problem that i've successfully solved.

彼女は私を感じる。私は彼女を感じる。我々は1つです
She feels me.I feel her. We are one.
