I just got a 2001 GT spyder and in the first week starter died ....place wants $430 to replace... seems way outa line any insight.... I am mechanically inclined can I do it my self.....I have worked on starters before??/...Thanx in advance

its not hard to change...

but the parts cost...thats another thing...

shop around and find a good price..on a quality starter
but dont buy a $1.98 no name white box remanned....they dont last

I'm in the market for a new starter myself. I'm wondering if you could recommend a couple that are decent.

Denso mostly for asian cars..

ac delcos arent bad if they make one for the eclipse..
