Okay guys, I got a '99 Mitsubishi Galant, 2.4L, 4 Cylinder Automatic, and it dies nearly everytime I come to a stop, so I'll just list off everything wrong with it that I know of, and the things I've fixed.
1. It's got an exhaust leak, right after the headers, on the coil pipe.
2. When starting at anytime, it'll act as if it doesn't want to start, as in it cranks, goes silent for a second, then starts right up. Sometimes, it'll make a terrible grinding noise, but it still starts.
Okay, now the things I have fixed, are:
1. New Battery, and Terminal connections.
2. New alternator.
3. I've cleaned the Throttle Body, MAF Sensor, and IAC valve.
It's a really strange problem I've never encountered before. For more description, when decelerating, the RPM meter will start jumping, and the engine will noticeably start running rough, but after gas is reapplied, and it starts accelerating again, the problem goes away. So, basically when coming to a stop, not using the gas pedal, the engine sputters to a halt, unless the gas pedal is Re applied. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone!
