2005 Grandis - Retrofitting a Multi Function Steering Wheel?

I was just curious if it was at all possible to retrofit a MFSW to a Grandis?

If so, which model Mitsi would be a good donor? I have seen an Outlander 2006-2012 steering wheel with lots of buttons on that would be good, if it fits of course.

Would the airbag be a straight transplant?

Hmm, you are right, the wheel would have to come with the steering column wiring and slip ring. I doubt that would be easy to find, let alone fit. If the Grandis didn't have a mfsw as an option, then there isn't even going to be mounting points, etc available I guess.

It would not be for looks though, I just prefer using them rather than reaching for the stereo. Maybe a stalk would be a possible retrofit?

interesting question this

my thoughts
looks like you have chosen (outlander gen two )
you could chase around for a boss and fit the MFSW to the grandis spline
and lots of time wiring the lot in

Or
do some research about doing a floor to wheel steering column transplant .

the donor would being out of a mitsubishi with a MFSW
get one that will come with loom and all below dash connections required

running from the wheel and column light indicator and cruz

may need a little cosmetic work on the cowlings surround column

you can tinker with the donor assembly steering column to adjust for fitment to the grandis
you may need a diagnostic scanner to reset for the donor keys and air bag

looks ok to be able to work in the wiring looms and connectors to the right places
