I had my 2004 inspected within a week of getting the notice so they could determine if the needed to replace it or apply the rust inhibitor. Dropped it off and picked it up, in the 1h they had it they applied the rust inhibitor and I was good to go replacement wasn't needed.
Now if you had the inspection done and they determined that replacement was needed did they make you sign a release stating that the vehicle was dangerous to drive before leaving the dealership or were you not even able to get the inspection done? If you got the inspection done and didn't sign a waiver you might be able to hold them on it, if you signed a waiver your probably SOL, and if you didn't even get it inspected yet you might end up in a you said they said situation. It will be interesting to see what happens.
