2008 Outlander cross member recall delays

Just had an accident in my 2008 Outlander, after waiting for over 8 months for Mitsubishi to replace the cross members from their recall they failed and the entire front end came down damaging the wheel wells, tie rods etc. I've called once a month to have the recall work completed by dealership to no avail. What's really disturbing is that I had just got off the Don Valley Parkway when the cross members failed, had they failed at 90km/h I may not have been writing this thread.

If your cross members are corroded take your car off the street until replaced. Anyone else have this issue?

Well I does help to keep up to date with recalls - had something similar on my previous car.

Once spayed only lasts for a winter or two ...

I had my 2004 inspected within a week of getting the notice so they could determine if the needed to replace it or apply the rust inhibitor. Dropped it off and picked it up, in the 1h they had it they applied the rust inhibitor and I was good to go replacement wasn't needed.

Now if you had the inspection done and they determined that replacement was needed did they make you sign a release stating that the vehicle was dangerous to drive before leaving the dealership or were you not even able to get the inspection done? If you got the inspection done and didn't sign a waiver you might be able to hold them on it, if you signed a waiver your probably SOL, and if you didn't even get it inspected yet you might end up in a you said they said situation. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Edit: Because of the duplicate threads I merged them into one.
