hello everyone, im doing an engine swap from a 2003 lancer to 2005 lancer oz rally edition (2.0L, VIN E, 8th digit, 4 cylinder) , called the dealership service and parts and they took the vin #s and said engine will drop right in with no problems, is there anything or secrets I need to know about , much appreciated
Wear and tear will be higher on complete drivetrain - most expensive the transmission.
Brakes should be swapped so they can handle the higher speed.
Bigger discs mean bigger wheels.
Don´t get me started on all the electronics you need to swap.
Ok something misleading about the OZ rally... besides a few cosmetic changes and a different set of wheels it is identical to the base lancer sharing the exact same 2.0L engine.
The RalliArt is the only one that got a performance upgrade (2.4L).
