Hi all,
I have recently bought my first FTO, the lad first said it was a GR model but then when i picked the car up he said it was a GX model, i would be very grateful if anyone could tell me if there is any way of finding out exactly what model my fto is, i.e. from the vin number or something, any help/info would be great.
Thanks
Dan.

I have a 1999 Lancer VRX and want to put an evo 6 front strut brace one it. I was wondering if anyone knows where the brace bolts on to firewall.
And what are some good mods to get a little more grunt out off it. ie: turbo, anything like that.
Thanks

A friend is swapping the engine in my wife's van. It's a mitsubishi 6G72 3.0 liter. Were there different configurations of cooling ports in the heads that make some heads incompatible with some blocks? If anybody has any insight about this, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks!!

I'm new to this forum, so I'm hoping someone out there can give me some info on what's going on. My Galant has been having intermittent problems while driving, almost like the transmission slipping. I thought it might be vapor lock at first, so I used dry gas. Same prob. Then I had the tranny fluid changed. Same prob. I noticed that the service light had turned on. When I went to the service sta. the guy told me that it was the Cam Shaft Position Sensor and that it helps regulate the gas/air mix, and that's most likely the prob. Does this sound accurate? thanks for any info you can offer.

Hello all, two questions from a new member. I have just purchased a 2000 mk3 spacewagon and I wonder if you could answer a couple of questions.
firstly the stereo is a model : 9181 it appears that all the controls are on the stereo for a cd changer however I cannot find it ! could someone tell me where it should be and if there is not one what the options are for fitting one, will an aftermarket cd changer fit etc.
secondly when my wife returned to the car after leaving it for a few moments engine running radio on, the stereo was off and completly locked and the word "lock" was displayed on the lcd on the dash, the children swear they never touched the stereo it just stoped. My wife says she pressed all the buttons and it started working again....any ideas
Thanks for reading and hopefully responding
Regards mark

Hi,
I would like to install a hitch on my 04 Outlander for my bike rack. The problem I am having is that the hitches I am coming across are 1 1/4 inch. My bike rack is 2 inch. I know I could just purchase a converter, but this thing sits so far off the back as it is, that I don't want anything to to extend it any further. Does anybody know if there is a 2" hitch available for the 04 Outlander?
Thanks,
Rich

I have a 2001 Montero Sport w/ Infinity Sound system.
Was listening to radio on the way to work. 8 hours later started up the MS and no sound....radio or cd. Head unit has power, all fuses OK...just can't figure out what's up. I wanted to replace the factory head unit (due to their quality), so I dropped in a JVC unit and made sure all connections were correct. Still no sound after (again) checking all the fuses. I think it’s the amp fuse. Does anyone have an idea where the fuse is located? Has anyone seen these Infinity amps just die? Any suggestions on how to get at the amp or should I just bypass the thing and install another amp?
Thanks for any advice. No sound while driving is making me nuts.

Hi, well my mirage was once my parents and now mine.
Anyways, for a couple months now we've been having troubles with the gauge cluster. It only works in the morning, and for only a half an hour at that, then everything, the speedometer, the gas gauge, all of the gauges, they will not work. I've been looking around the net for some parts that I could possibly replace, and I'm just looking for some stock parts for it, nothing fancy, but I can't. I've also looked around to see that alot of people with the same make have been having the same trouble, but haven't really seen any answers about it. Anyone have a clue on what's up?

Hey guys how you all going? I have a 94 Magna SE Wagon, but have a few problems im hoping to get answers to... after i start the car (cold start) its fine but when it warms up at idling temp if thats the right term to use the needle on the tacho will move up n down slightly then feel like its about to stall and in most cases it does.. goes to about 500RPM then then tries to stall... the only thing i can do to keep it going is VERY lightly touch the Accelerater to keep the revs up a bit.... only happens when its warmed up though... and secondly nothing major, but from a cold start it very rarely smokes from the exaust but for eg. when stopped at traffic light and i suddenly accelerate after the green, one puff of white smoke comes from the exaust, only one puff and this only happens on odd rare occasions... id appreciate any help... thanx guys....

Hi All,
Can anyone help me with my engine specs please. I have a 1995 Pajero ECI Multi V6 3000. I have been told it has a "Triton/L200" motor in it.
When I look at the manufacturers plate under the bonnet there is Mod: AGBJX4601 stamped on it. The only other markings are the Chassis and Trim numbers. I am in South Africa so I do not know whether this will make a difference to the type of engine.

G'day All,
I am in the process of rebuilding my engine (2.5l diesel turbo). During removal the torque converter came out with the engine. Are there any tricks to refitting the converter. Anything I should be careful of?

My wife bought a shogun pinin in 2004. within a year we had a new gear box and since then we have had numerous problems. In sept 2005 the 1st front exhaust pipe blew a hole and 15 months, 7 exhausts and an engine mount later we still have a problem !!!!
I have emailed the Managing Director of Mitsubishi UK and they took the car away for a month and have come back to stay that the exhaust system was mis aligned and the catalytic converter was an inch lower than it should be and putting pressure on the front down pipe........can anybody help please as i feel that I am being fobbed off as it had been back to the mitsubishi garage 7 times over 15 months- surely this could have been diagnosed earlier if that simple.....does anybody have any advice or know of any other pinin exhaust system problems?
thankyou

Hey there fella's
Need help with the womens V3000 it seems to have a wiring fault somewhere between the fuse box and the tail lights.
the brake lights just dont turn on when the pedal is pushed, i've checked the globes and the wiring coming from the light hub all fine.
The light does come on when the headlights are turned on, but thats it. When the brake pedal is pushed there is nothing.
Anyone had similar problems in there V3000?
If not anyone got a wiring diagram they can email me for the car?
Thanks.

Hi all, need a little help.
Replaced timing belt in parents van that has 4g64 sohc engine, replaced timing belt and timing balance shaft belt. When i started it up had a whirring noise, turn it off check all timing looked great. Took it for a spin huge vibration through steering colum. Stripped down aagin checked internet and they said balance shaft is not in phase. Put balance shaft in phase by turning till timing mark its at 12 oclock position and when let go turns to the left slightly. Put back together and took for a drive vibration gone completely yah but whirring noise still there. looked at autotension and it is fully compressed ie the shaft of the auto tensioner doesnt stick out at all, above the top of the auto tensioner and the tensioner puller looks awefully close to the fan housing. Please any help???

Hi Folks,
I'm not one for screaming for attention but I want to share my (classic?) 1987 Mitsubishi Tredia that I've finally converted to run on electricity. Here's some before, during and after shots:

Here's a shot of the engine bay the day I bought it. That engine was a gonner. "It's dead Jim".
It's taken 8 months and there's still a little tweaking to do here & there but it's finally gas-free. It's a good thing with the price of gas as it is.

That's a shot of the 100HP electric motor in place. Looks a bit bare in there...

Aaaand, that's the "after" shot. Looks like an orange octopus died in there.
So after all that, the performance is the same as the original. In fact it's a little bit peppier than stock under 35mph, then it gets normal after that. The only downside is the low range of about 35 miles per charge up. I could only afford a $2000 battery pack (lead acid batteries) so it's only a city car with that range. If I win the lottery I'd chuck Lithium (laptop/camcorder) batteries in there and get 200+ miles per charge but money's tight.
Still, I worked out it's about $1 US to charge the car up from empty so $1 per 35 miles is still cheaper than the bus.

Everything still works, heater goes well (replaced hot water element with an electric heater element) and I want to fit it out with some decent sounds later on. But I'll need a bigger accessories battery for that.
If you're keen you can see the video of my first test drive
Right Here and I make no apologies for my excited girly giggling as I was pretty damn happy to get the car running after 8 months!
Cheers from downunder everyone!
Gav
