Anyone know a good site to shop for Eclipse Halo headlights for a 99 eclipse RS?
I wana buy a good set of Halo Headlights but I dont know a good site to shop at, or what headlamps are good or not. Can somoene point me in the right direction.

Hey everybody! This is my first post in the forum.
I was wondering if any of you guys could help me. Ive been into tuners for a while but i never really had the chance to own one until recently. I was wondering if you guys could give me a hand on building my first car. Mainly what I need to know about is performance. I have a 1995 Eclipse RS. Dont really know what kind of engine is currently in it due to the fact that when I bought it the dealer told me the engine was replaced with a junkyard motor. Already had to do some major work since I bought the thing though such as adjust the timing, replace the water pump, replace the idler pulley for the A/C, replace the tensioner pulley for the timing belt, buy a new timing cover. Alot of work so far. Next im looking at rebuilding the engine completly and blueprinting the block for racing performance. Mainly what I need to know is are all parts for the eclipse RS, GS, GS-T, and GSX interchangable? Would it be possible for me to put a stock turbo on my RS then upgrade as I progress in performance? I already know pretty much what I want to do with the interior and exterior. But I would be open to anyone who is willing to give me suggestions on some neat ideas and i would give credit on my car to whoever gave me the Idea. Im not really worried about labor cost on the car due to the fact that I do all of the work myself. For the exception of machine work. I have all of the software that I need to do my own dyno on the road with my laptop sitting in the seat next to me. So anyone who is willing to help be my guest im open to anything! Thx!

i have a friend who is about to buy a 97 eagle talon and the guy told him its a 4g63 but i took alook at it today and i wanted to know what i should look for to compare a 4g63 to a 420a. a few things threw me off about the car like they said they replaced the engine but theres alot of oil burnt on in the engine. and another thing was i thought that the bump in the hood was for the cam gears but the engine is the oposite direction compared to my 4g63 in my tsi, and the cams are also a diff size they sit alot lower then mine. also the valve cover looks diff then any one that ive seen on a 4g63. any help is apricated thanks

i have a very weird problem with my eclipse.. its a 1996 GS.The motor is rebuilt and i put it in myself along with a freind.. when i started it it ran kinda rough then just shut off and now cant get it to start.. it cranks just wont fire up. its geting fuel and a weak spark.

I own 1997 Eclipse Rs ... its 140 hp right now .... i wanna know how to increase my HP upto 250 hp ? ...
how abt 4G64 T3 super 60 turbo kit....(

how abt NOS System .. is it a substitute of turbo or I need to fill it up again very often ...

Also .. how abt exhaust and intake valves and spark plugs ... do I need to do my fuel injecting sytem as well... i am having some accelarating problem as well...

I got a 97 RS with ZEX nitrous and am looking to upgrade the fuel system. I am looking into buying a venom intake manifold, fuel rail, injectors, helix tower and underdrive pulley. I am wondering if anyone has done this or knows about the results, mostly about the intake manifold b/c of the price. And the internals on the car are bone stock btw. I am looking to puchase about $2000 in mods for my ride in the next week. Thanks alot...

I have a question on my 1997 eclipse RS the control arms bolt onto next to the strut mount it's two bolts one on each side my question is on of the bolt's are loose and it looks like the part that you mount the control arm (looks like a round tube that is conected to the body) Rusted and brock loose has anyone had this problem and how can i fix it.

I have a check engine light once again. First it was because the oil is running low. I put oil in and it went out for a day. And now the CEL came back today. I tried to do the procedure to get a code but I didnt get one. What could be the problem? Also I have low idling under 800RPMS. Please help, thanks.

Ok i am in the process of purchasing a gen 2 eclipse that had the timing belt break. Its only $250 for a car in awesome shape. Me being totaly new to the DSM world have no idea which motor to look for. I am almost positive its the 420a that is blown up. The 4g63t swap looks like a nice option if my research is correct. I need to know what 6 bolt and 7 bolt has to do with anything, all i know is it has to do with the crank and which flywheels u can and can't use. Any help would be great, or if you can steer me in the right direction that would be awesome too.

The engine is ready for a turbo. I have everything I need finally. The only thing that I am wondering is if robbing oil from normal channels to supply the turbo will screw up the oil pressure/pump?

Ok i'm finially getting around to wiring up the new gauges I bought on my pilar pods. I'm wondinging what the correct oil pressure reading level should be for my car (420a) , so when I do get it wired up I know if my oil pressure is ok or not. the gauge goes from 0-100.
I have the same question about the water temp gauge i'm going to install. what should it read, so I know if my car is overheating or not. that gauge goes from 100-250.

Hello I am new to the forum and just bought a 1997 eclipse RS it has some small problems that i am sure can be fixed and wanted to ask some question's
Will stock springs from a 1995 eclipse fit a 1997 eclipse.Where can i find some good springs that will lower the car 1" in the front and back.
And also when i use the A/C the power steering becomes hard to turn i mean real hard what could cause this with out the A/C on it has no problem.
Also there is a noise coming from the front drivers wheel when i press the brakes and the pedal shakes A Little.
I checked the rotor and brakes everything looks OK and there was no play in the rotors and components
Is there a web site that sells stock Eclipse parts.

i have about 1000 dollars to spend on my car,i already have intake,exaust, and cam gears. i searched the forum and didnt really find anything that refers to my question, i was wondering what parts or best combination of parts should i invest in to get the best results. Also does anyone know where i can find aftermarket cam-shafts for this motor, ive looked all over and cannot seem to locate any. if i can find a set of cams i would defintely buy them, along with a header,cat and intake manifold if it falls within my 1k budget
or if anyone has any parts for sale let me know

Alryte found another problem with the car i just bought. 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.0L DOHC. What kind of oil do i put in there? The car didn't have a manual so I don't know and it doesn't say on the oil cap. And it's really low so for safety i just put 2 quarts of 5w-30, but i don't know if that the oil. ANybody know?

a rebuilt 420a capable of 600 hp, not that the drivetrain will handle it but it's nice to dream, (want 270-300whp). what kind of turbo should I go for? big 16g MHI, evo III 16g MHI, or garrett ar.60? of course with the MHI turbos I would be going for the larger 34mm wastegate flapper, don't let this bias your comment. Im going to be buying a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. I know its not that fast. Probably 0-60 times in the 8's.
So I was wondering what the best upgrade to power/ 0-60 time that is really worth the value? I'm not doing too bad on cash flow but I don't want to put in say 600 to 1200 dollars for a turbo.
So im thinking upgrades that are up to $200 to $300 tops, and not a lot of them.

I have a 97 eclipse and its automatic and this was great when I first got it because I couldnt drive a 5speed but NOW i know how to and this really sucks cause I hate driving my car now because I can't fell the power in my hand i cant change those gears and well I have been told that having a 5speed is good for gas mileage and good for racing but im not going to be doing any racing BUT!
my question is
what is the best engine to get for this car?
or
What is the best and cheapest I can get ?
and
how much would it cost to get it turned to a 5speed and
if anyone can just comment on there expierence with theres
if you have converted from auto to 5speed please tell me how the
expierence was...

i have built my friends eclipse from a disaster. it was bought with the turbo kit and a blown engine and everything was hacked up bad. i fixed everything and i just recently installed an afpr and new injectors since hahn racecraft doesnt include injectors. before i had done that, the one and only time it ever did detonate was with me driving the day i was going to work on it. luckily no damage was done. it is now running 8psi and thats when it started running completely lean under any amount of boost. it now has accel 30lbs injectors 14.4 ohms, aeromotive rising rate afpr, nice stainless lines(does it matter, no but oh well), and a secondary inline pump but isnt installed. i got it set at 50psi at idle since it seemed to idle best right there although vacuum has dropped like from 12 to 9 at idle, i could be wrong. the turbo is not intercooled just yet, since he has had to take care of a bunch of other items first. ok but now it runs rich, i feel better that way, because of the new injectors but under certain times it also goes lean. i know this is all apart of new larger injectors, but i need to know what anyone else has done that works great to get this thing running perfectly. is sending the ecu off to jet the best way, a plu and play programmer for a/f ratio, or a standalone system? yeah i know everyone is going to say standalone but i want to find the cheapest, but very efficient way to get it running. he still has to do full suspension since its completely shot and a new clutch since i think the throw out bearing is bad and we will ditch the modular clutch.
i hope someone can direct me in the right direction for the best option that will work and not cost much.


just a shot of his engine and afpr. need to do alot of clean up. the kid before did all the wire loom crap and we just been too busy doing the needed repairs and forget to remove that crap. rethreaded the head for new arp bolts to hold valve cover, very cool little bolts. still needs a bit more work.

Ok so I'm planning to performance upgrade my 1999 Gs, and I'm hoping that you guys can help me out with total cost and a list of things I'm gonna need...
First off I want a stage one turbo kit, though I don't know which to get star or hahns, star is cheaper but is it as good? I'm also wondering what I'm gonna need to replace when I get the turbo kit, cause I head there are a few things that will need to be swapped out. I also want a decent exhaust. Oh yea and since I'm no expert mechanic I'll prob have to have all of this installed, unless I can find someone who can, so what would be installation of all this stuff.

Im just wondering that whenever I lock my car either with my car alarm/starter remote or either manually pressing the door lock switch in the car, my passenger door does not lock at all. After i try either locking method and go over to the passenger side the door still opens. This is happening ever since I got my eclipse back from the tune-up. The car does not start with my car starter remote and also the issue of the passenger door not locking. Is there a problem in the wiring that the mechanics had done to my car for it to cause these 2 problems?

The starter in my new 1998 Eclipse GS seems to be broken, and i have a hard time finding a new one.
Can someone help me find the exact part number or name of the starter i need? The sticker on the broken one is unreadable.
It's a 98 Eclipse GS with automatic transmition.

Im only 16, but I work steady and have a good income, so I would like to do some performance upgrades on my 97 Eclipse RS in the future, but resources on performance/engine materials is kind of hard to find. Does anyone know where I can go to learn more about my engine and how to go about looking for performance parts/upgrades? Thanks.
