The door locks click on and off incessantly as the outside temerature climbs over 80 degrees. The emergency lights will also activate as the temperature rises. The dealer techinician was not able to find a short. Any ideas?

Members from club3g.com (Eclipse forums) have been working on the 3.5 swap, and would find the tuning process to be much easier if we could get a copy of the ROM from the diamante. If anyone knows someone who wouldn't mind getting 'tactrixed', let me know!

Yesterday I went to start the car and the battery was flat, OK so I disconnect the battery, check fluid levels, connect up the battery charger, come back 5 hours later, connect the battery and away we go.

My Diamante will not shift to reverse. drive, 1st, 2nd, Nuetral all work fine. I heard it might be my shifter linkage. Does that sound correct? I looked at my manual and it has NOTHING about shifter linkage. Can someone please point me in the right direction or a picture/diagram?

I have been beating my head against the wall and am hoping that someone can help. I have a 92 diamante where the coolant is leaking and coming down the valley of the 3.0 sohc. I have replace all the coolant parts except for the pump. I am wondering if it could be a bad pump or ?????? If anyone has some suggestions or tips to help me figure this thing out it would be much appreciated.

I just blew the neck off my radiator and it looks like i already had a dodgy head gasket and now i may have cracked the head. Previous to this incident i wasnt using coolant and the oil and coolant were clean. Now there is water in the oil. ->gone all milky.

As you guys know, it costs a bucket to take the head off and have it tested etc, so my predicament is...

When I start my car in the morning I can hear a very thick noise especially when I put the gear at the 'D' Drive it comes up with that annoying noise. Is that the drive belt or is it something different?

I have a 1995 Magna 2.6 that is on its last legs (220,000 KM) but I want to get every inch out of it that I can.

I only drive it 2 km to the train station and back but it has recently started overheating - badly. if I get stuck in traffic, I have to pull over and walk the rest of the way.

My TR magna 2.6 litre auto transmission will only select 3rd gear.
Reverse and neutral function as normal, however remains in 3rd gear even if lower gear selected.
Won't downshift on acceleration either.
Will not go into overdrive.
Have tried selecting power/economy mode but this makes no difference.
Even when vehicle is stopped, still remains in 3rd and engine labours...

This is my first Diamante. I am hopeing that I can get ideas on some mods. Any input would be great. I am leaning towards body and interior more than performance. But like I said before any input will be greatly appreciated.

I just buy the secondhand 1995 mitsubishi magna from the dealer in sydney and I found that I cannot turn the radio on. It shows "CODE". I think I have to input some code afterthat I can use the radio.
The dealer who sold this car to me also don't know.
Anyone knows this code? And how to put the code? What button?

I just replaced a head unit in my 2002 Diamante. I can not remember if the controls for the ac light up or not. Mine do not and I dont know if they did and dont now because of something I did during head unit install or they just are not made to light up. Anyone know the answer to this. Thanks for helping.

I took out the stock head unit and had a after market installed a Circuit City. They did an amp bypass for me which was very expensive. I had them uninstall the after market and replace stock because i thought I was going to sell the car. I did not sell the car and now want to put an after market cd player back in. I have read a lot on bypassing the infinity amp and still have a few quesions....

Can anyone help me with adjusting the low beams on a 2002 diamante. There is a plastic cast with a bubble level in it next to each headlight. This has an adjustment screw beside it. i had a topic a few days ago where my car was stuck in 1st gear and wouldn't upshift. i sent it to a reliable transmission shop and they say that the transmission is bad. the guy can't even get it to manually shift out of 1st gear. the price for a new transmission, labor, etc is about 3 grand and i only paid 2500 for the car. the car also has an engine seal leak and has 122000 miles so...

My 2002 Diamante V-RX had the heater core problem and I have had that replaced. The transmission was acting up then and now the car is in fail safe mode. Car stays in 3rd gear just like other people with this problem. From reading the posts here, I believe the problem is either the TCU or TCU relay. Can anyone help me determine which one is bad? Also, I have pulled back the carpet on the passenger...

i had a shop change my transmission fluid last week and now it is stuck in 1st gear. i used seafoam and ran it through and it worked for a few days, but now it's sticking again. i heard that i had to have mitsubishi ATF and the shop just used whatever was recommended on the computer for my car. will using something other than mitsubishi ATF screw up the transmission. HELP!!!

Any thoughts on changing a Two wheel drive v6 magna to having a 4x4 drive option and lifting it so it can roll on 4x4 tyres....or atleast lifting it a bit???

hi i havent done this before so im wondering where to start if i want to clean the throttle body and plate. I read some before and since my magna is idling at high revs when i start it and sometimes revving and stalling altogether i figure this could be the problem. Any ideas?

I have a 02 Mit Diamante that has had a heater core leaking problem A few days ago my tranny seems to be missing the lower gears and jumping directly to 3rd gear. Through research and asking around this seems to be a VERY common problem. It is indicated that the heater core has leaked down onto my ECU and/or transmission relays and has caused the electronic transmission control to act up.

I have a 1992 Diamante Dohc that I am thinking about parting out.... It is pretty clean and super fast... Runs great, no major problems... I would like to sell it complete but people seem to be afraid of the mere 213,000 miles... Let me know if anyone would be interested in the complete car! I have a 2001 mitsubishi diamante and for some reason the directional button on the a/c controls isn't working. The air conditioning only blows slightly out of the far sided vents near the doors, when i push the directional button the screen shows the change in flow but it doesn't do anything. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and could give me a solution, thanks.

I have a 95 mitsi diamante 2.5ltr v6 and it has a problem. The car will not idle when it reaches normal driving temperatures. It is able to start easily and is able to idle until it warms up. Please if anyone has any ideas or has prior knowledge of this problem please advise.

Auto Zone said the EGR valve needed to be replaced. I took it off and soaked it in carb cleaner. I also did a pressure test and it was fine. Now Auto Zone is saying it is the solenoid. Does anyone know if there is a way to trouble shoot this and if you have a pic of the solenoid that would be great. The error code is P0403.
