use a led test light or a multi meter
long short gives you the codes
location
on australian cars
ECI/ECU is on the passengerside kickpanel at glovebox height
TCU is under the carpet below the radio (TR/TS) 4 cyl

A friend of mine's TP Auto Magna has been showing the right level on the gearbox dipstick (up to the COLD mark on a cold engine and HOT on a hot engine) for about a year. I helped him change the oil today and we drove about 60km.
Even though we lost exactly 3.5 litres, which we measured, and replaced exactly 3.5 litres, the dipstick shows over the HOT mark on a cold engine. This...

There is another problem now. If the car is parked and you floor it all of a sudden, it will start to hesitate and misfire and wont rev past 1000rpm but if you depress the acc pedal...

Dear Mitsubishi Diamante community:
I am new here in this prestigious forum, and from an advice of a friend of mine I subscribe myself to this community.
My 1992 Diamante, 4 doors, 6 cylinders, 3000 DOHC engine, 126000 miles, present the following malfunction in the A/C blower:
The blower switch function erratically: some times works normal once you turn it on,...

Hello Folks,
I own a '01 Diamante and my horn is broken. I took it to a friend who said it was the "clock" in the steering wheel. When i called Mitsubishi they were looking at about $900 for parts alone. I was distraught to say the least. Last week i was thinking about it and the horn doesn't work from the keyless remote either. The car has a factory alarm. I...

I've got 112,000 miles on my 2004 Diamante and NTB says I need to replace my structs all around. They're factory original.
Has anyone done this themselves? Is replacing these a big job? Do you need any special equipment? What else would be easy to wise to replace while I have the car apart?
Thanks,
AYD

Hi
I'm working on a friend's TP first gen Magna. He needs to flush the power steering.
I understand I need 4 litres of Dextron III, which I have to keep filling the reservoir with while the return pipe (disconnected) drains it into another container. That should get out any impurities. The other thing is to flush it before replacing the power steering rack, so that...

I bought this car at an auction to get a motor for my wagon. It had a broken CV shaft and couldn't be driven, but it ran and it was cheap. I replaced the axle, drove it, but it was missing.
I did a compression test, found it low in 2 cylinders, pulled the head and found 3 burned valves. Had the head rebuilt, put it back on,...

Hi all, this is my first post. I have a question concerning my temp gauge. I own a 97 Magna TF. Prior to todays service, the temp gauge stays consistent at 4 bar. It doesn't move. However I had the car serviced today and the temp bar fluctuates between 4 to 5 bar and sometimes I can smell something burning (or maybe its just me). Things done to it was:
1) Regular service (change...

I have a 1994 Mitsubushi Diamante ES w/ 3 L 6 cyl engine and 183,000 miles. The car started running rough so I took it to a local mechanic who has provided good service in the past. There is nor Mitsu dealer nearby. The mechanic did a tuneup, changed plugs and plug wires, cleaned injectors, etc. He said the injectors were filthy and fouled the new plugs so he changed them again. The car...

I know this is a Mitsu forum but I rented a Hyundai Getz and tried to play a CD in it. It got trapped in the player and now there is no display and not button or hole on it to press or insert an unfolded paperclip.
Does anyone know if there's a trick to this?
Thanks

Ok, while driving on the road, my gauge cluster, radio, and the lighting to the AC & Window Buttons dies. I think the actual gauges still work but as for the light(s) to see the cluster that doesn't work anymore.
Now I've checked a few fuses already
-Instrument Panel -ok
-(Driver side) Radio Fuse -ok
-(Engine Compartment) Radio Fuse #10 -bad, #9 -ok

hi, I have a mitsubishi magna 1996, nz new. that has had the left cv joint replaced less than a year ago but its still knocking, only when its turning left, not a gentle turn but like on a corner, I was wondering if anyone knows what else could possibly be wrong?

I replaced the rear rotors on my 2004 diamante a few months back. As you might know, the emergency brake is a drum brake, the drum being the inside of the rotor. You have to stick a screw driver through a port on the rotor to adjust the ebrake.
I adjusted mine as tight as I could while still being able to turn the rotors by hand.
The e-brake doesn't really even work...

Hello,
After redoing the heads on my 92 diamante 3.0 dohc, after the engine warmed up the lifters started clattering and the oil pressure light came on . After removing the covers I noticed that the exhaust lifters on either head didn't have anywhere near the amount of oil coming from them that the intake lifters did. The car didn't have any clatter or oil pressure problems...

I know that the timing runs off the computer, but there is a way to ground out or bypass the computer to time this SOHC. I recently got my Diamante running after getting the heads redone. That includes removing the distributor. When I put a timing light on it looks to be about 50° retarded. It runs OK but knocks a little under acceleration. I wrote that off to 9 month old gasoline. Should I just...
