I've been having this problem with my 2001 Ei Verada. It has the 4 speed gear box in it.
Every time when I'm driving on the hwy doing 100km/h in 4th gear and need to slow down to say 80km/h then speed up again to 100km/h, when it kicks down from 4th-3rd it makes this horrible clunk. It gets worse depending on going up hill or heavy load.

1. It will start then stall if i don't keep my foot on the accelartor. After it warms up it wil idle but will me temperamental. Changing from D to R upsets it. Also when I come to a stop after braking hard it will stall.

The battery light stays on when engine is running.
Seems to come good after it warms up. Then it stays on when idleing but goes out when engine revs increase.
Should I be looking for a `bad battery? bad alternator? bad regulator?
Anybody else have this prob?

If there had been a 380 wagon I would have considered it. The 3.0L V6 Outlander was high on my list but in the end the Outback won.

I have a '93 ES with 300k. I just had the heads redone, and I want to rebuild the rest of it when I swap it into my ES wagon. I found a guy online with a low mileage (52k) motor from a 2003 Chrysler Sebring (3.0 24v). It was overheated and warped the heads. Is there any chance this block would work in the D?

I had a couple burned valves on a 24v 3.0 Diamante. Obviously the head is off. When it goes back on, can I reuse the head bolts, or are they 'torque-to-yield' or whatever mitsu calls their one time use bolts?

I am looking at buying a TN Magna SE. I have owned a TM Elite in the past and replaced the head about 5 times since new. I am told the TN has head problems as well.
