Anyway, I just bought a '75 Colt with a 19XX D50 2.6 and 5speed. I'm not sure what year this engine is from; the previous owner passed before we completed the transaction and I actually bought it from his daughter. He just said is was a 2.6 from a truck and was installed when the car was 6 or 7 years old. It has the cat in the exhaust manifold and a water heated carb that I had to...

ill try to keep this short because ive explained it 3 times in the last half hour. I was on the freeway home from a spring break trip. As such there was a MOUND of blankets, etc. obscuring my view on the rear windows (i drive a 1992 talon, so rear visibility is already bad). So im changing lanes like a madman because theres slow moving trucks ALL over the road for some reason. One of those...

I've got a 1992 Mitsubishi Montero that at time of purchase had a Lazerlok alarm system installed. Now we stopped using the system a long time ago (we just use the power locks). I've still got the remote fob but it doesn't seem to work even after a new battery was put in the remote.
Now everything was fine until I recently had a new car battery installed, after the old one...

Does anyone know of a garage in West Yorks that can service a Mitsubishi still under warranty? I know there's a dealer in Hunslet but that's the only one in the county, and it's miles away from us. Hopefully I can find one nearer home (S Bradford)..?

I am curious as to how to read a VIN number stamped on an Australian Mitsubishi. Google turned up US sites but these do not help at all. I found nothing of use in relation to Aus VINs.
Any help?

Hey, I was just thinking it would be sweet to go on the next Super Street Tour that goes down to Atlanta. I don't think details are set yet but I believe it's sometime in September and the car show down there is sick and lasts for a whole weekend. Plus all the fun driving down there in a group of 100+ cars. Let me know what you guys think. It would be a good event for us East Coast...

Hi,
As I am reading with the workshop manuals i got for 4g63 engines, I noticed that there is what they called the Purge Control solenoid valve.
1. Can anybody here explain the purpose of this?
2. I noticed in my car that the canister is directly connected to the throttle body but in the manual it is connected to a solenoid then from solenoid to throttle. What is the...

Howdy, all,
Does anyone know what the Mitsubishi engine designator (model?) is for the ubiquitous Mitsubishi 2.6 liter engine / Mikuni carb, used in so many different makes and models of trucks and minivans? You know, like 4G--?
Further, where might I find an engine manual for it?
Thanks in advance...

Howdy, all...
I read that:
"The 4D55 is nearly identical to the 2.6L gas engine found in small Mitsu and Dodge pickups (and Mazda B2600 pickups, and Starions and Conquests). They are a DIRECT bolt in, the only thing you have to change is extend the wiring for the alternator and take the in tank fuel pump out if you have one."
I have seen many of these...

Hello everyone,
Recently acquired a mix-breed vehicle. It's a 1997 Dodge Stratus and has a Mitsubishi built 24-valve 2.5L SOHC V6 engine -- which I believe it's the 6G73 (or maybe 6G72).
Long story made short: Water pump siezed, took out the timing belt which took out the timing belt idlers...it's a stinking interference engine and bent 8 of the 12 exhaust...

Hey all,
New to this forum...Trying to get info on my GDI galant, 1998, standard.
It works best on either synthetic oil or a combination of synthetic or regular oil not sure which one. Also what kind of plugs are best?
These engines operate at high octane, higher than the 90 that we get here in Jamaica. How much can octane boost help?
Thanks
