Probably a stupid question but I was wondering since my room is kinda far from where my car is parked and if someone wants to break into my car and isn't detered from the alarm I cant do anything about it. Is there an alarm system where the piece on the key chain or another piece I can put on the key chain will ring or have some kind of signal to alert me from a limited range that the alarm is going off? so I can run out there wit a bat or somethin..lol but seriously the best alarm system cant stop the person if no one is around.

Hi,
I just bought a used 1998 Mitsubishi Montero about 3 weeks ago. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with the vehicle up until a couple of days ago. When I hit the unlock button on the keyless entry remote, the locks unlock and then re-lock themselves all within about 1 second. I really have to time it right to open the door. This is really frustrating, has anybody else had a similar experience? Any Suggestions?
-Thanks.

Hi, Im new to the forum. Anyways, I have a 2002 eclipse gts. I am trying to add a cd player to my car. The previous owner had an in dash dvd player and all the speaker wires went to the rear. I ran them back up to the front. When he cliped the red wire to take out the in dash cd player he did not tape the ends. On the drive home the red wire touched some metal and created some smoke, and burned most of the insulation off the red wire, when that happend I did not have any audio components set up. the speakers werent connect and there was no cd player connect. it was just wires. But when I connect the cd player it powers the cd player perfect. It gives it power and all that good stuff. But the problem iswhen i connect the speakers to the cd player, the cd player has power but the speakers wont play. I know they are getting some form of power because when i turn up the volume on the cd player to max and you can VERY SLIGHTLY hear the music in the speakers. Its not the cd player becuase I have tried 2 different new cd players and they both do the same thing. Does anyone know of what my problem is? what other information do you need? Is it an inner amp? or does it have something to deal with the red wire burning its insulation off? Is it a code problem (dont think so because his aftermarket stuff he removed worked fin). I need some help. Thank You

Here is a mind twister.... I am trying to make a cable that connects to this 13pin din and gives me a pair or RCA on the other end. PS: That is the back of the stock Radio/CD 2U's that comes with some Eclipse's
No brainer on the Left / Right pins, but I read somewhere that 2 PINs had to be shorted for the radio to think there is a cd changer and enable the Changer port to work.....
Any guesses on what are those 2 pins?

Hello,
I just bought a FM WIRED modulator... it goes between the antenna cable and the Infinity radio...
Antenna -----> FM MOD Box ---> Radio
|
|<--IPOD
Now I see that stock infinity has 2 antenna sockets. Main Antenna Socket and Sub-Antenna sockets. TO THE Right-->
http://img246.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e...acksmallmy7.jpgtop is the SUB Antenna, lower is the Main Antenna socket
So I plugged the Modulator to the Main Antenna Socket and I get a lot of noise... After many posts on other forum some said I had to have both plugged in in order for the noise to go away, BUT there is just 1 IN in the Modulator and 1 out, and it is for the Main Socket Antenna.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have a '95 Galant. The radio has had poor reception since I have had it. This weekend I got tired and wanted to see what's up. I open the radio. On the back there is one wiring harness and the another thick black wire that goes to the side. I figure that should be the antenna, but for the life of me I couldn't pull it out of the rear of the unit. Am I missing anything here?
By the way the search engine didn't give the answer.

I have a 97 montero sport with an infiniti system. The radio quit working on FM I tried everything. It just scans. AM works on about three stations but no fm. I tried disconnecting the antenna and purchased a cheap aftermarket one just to test it, it still did not work. I purchased another infinity deck out of a 98 montero sport on ebay thinking this would cure all but it did not. It also just scaned. I tried to hook the after market antenna on it, and it scanned and then started working. I then unhooked the aftermarket antenna and plugged in the original antenna and everything seemed to work fine. But once I turned the car off I came back a couple of hours later and no fm again. I have tried everything. I even ran a ground wire directly to the after market antenna thinking it was a ground issue but that didn't work. What could the odds be that both stereo's have the same problem. If you could help I would reaaly appreciate it

Hey everyone. This is my first time here and I need some help with my audio system in my car. Ever since like 2 days ago, my factory-built stereo hasn't been functioning. It doesn't let me use the radio or play any of my CD's. There's a CD in the player right now and I was thinking that maybe the CD is stuck inside or something. The battery never died or anything so it's not locked. And the unit on top isn't doing anything either; it's just showing the time. I just have no idea what happened; it did this after I had a hospital job interview. Can anyone help me out with this please? Thanks

Ok, I have an issue that I hope bobthecow will be able to answer:
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES (I include that because I was too lazy to read the CCA on the battery and the amperage output of the alternator)
My problem is this:
My amp (40W RMS x 2, 150W RMS x 1, bridged) plays my subwoofer (10" 200W RMS, sealed box, .6 cubic feet) fine when my key is turned to the "accessory" position no matter how high the gain is turned up and when the bass boost is turned up to +6dB. However, when the car is running, it cuts out and goes into thermal protect. I have to turn the bass boost off and turn the gain to 3/4 of the way up. I have checked the power to the battery (10 gauge, 25amp fuse) and the ground (back seat, bolt holding the hook of the seat down, sanded for optimum contact) and everything is fine. Any idea why this cuts out?

I am looking for the best alarm I can get with keyless entry at the very least.
I can spend anywhere from 0 to 200 dollars MAX. I have looked on circuit Citys, best buy websites and even EBay for alarms. The problem is that I don't know jack about them. I have seen some good deals, But I get mixed reviews on all of them I have seen on Circuit city and Best Buy. some say its the best, and then others say its the worst. so it's hard to find one.
I feel naked without an alarm on my car though. Any help or opinions you can give will be appreciated.
Thanks

For some reason, im having a **** time finding a wiring harness for my '03 galant es (WITHOUT the infinity system).
Do any of these harnesses look familiar?
MAD DW-03G / GWH-612METRA 70-7001 CHRYSLER 1995-UP INTO CAR HARNESS (it says it should fit Galants 1994 and up, but im hesitant to buy since ive aleady ordered one incorrect harness)
Gah, this would be an easy install if it wasn't for this harness issue. if i can't find a harness i may resort to clippin the old connections and go from there....
help?

I need a little help from anybody willing to lend some advice for setting up my car audio system. I like many others here have the infinity premium sound hooked up in my 2003 ecilpse. Again, like many others I am going to upgrade the factory deck with a Pioneer DEH-880PRS receiver. I had an aftermarket amp and two subwoofers installed by a car stereo place awhile back but now I want to add the aftermarket deck myself. My issue is that I'm not exactly sure how they configured my system so that I can rearrange it to get the most out of the equipment I have.
I do know that according to my factory stereo the subwoofers are considered the rear speakers, meaning that if I fade the sound towards the rear more volume is pumped into the subwoofers. I remember them telling me they had to set it up this way because of the presence of the factory stereo. The Pioneer deck comes with three pre-outs and tons of options for customizing the sound of my system. How can I rearrange my setup in order make sure all the options like auto-EQ and auto time alignment all work properly? If anyone needs more information just let me know.

just need to know the colour coding for the ignition.

I just purchased a new Eclipse GS last Wednesday and love it to death, except for the Rockford Fosgate® audio system cd changer. After playing it for a while without problems and inserting mp3 cd's that I created and playing them I tried to eject one of the cd's. Low and behold when the unit trys to eject the cd I hear a bunch of clicking noises and then get an error message on the lcd screen. I then look at the owners manual and there is no manual way to eject the cd's from this unit, you will need to take the car into the dealer to have them take care of the problem. I took the car in this morning to see if they can get the cd changer working and they tell me that they had to order another cd changer unit to replace the one in my dash and I asked how do I get the cd's that are stuck in the unit and they tell me that the manufacture of the cd unit will have to get them out and send them to the dealer. This might be a big problem in the future because of this being a new sound system and if I had the problem this quick I think that others will also. I used to have in another car a 6 cd changer that used cartridges and at least those would not get stuck. Now the waiting to see how long it will take Mitsubishi to get the replacement in. I work right next door to Mitsubishi headquarters in Cypress, Ca and am thinking of going over to them and explain the situation if it takes too long for the replacement. I wish that there was a manual way to eject the cd's because I will hate to have to take it to the dealer if it happens quite often.
Just an opinion.
BTW: I drove to San Diego last Saturday and averaged 25mpg on the drive.

So, I just purchased a 2001 Eclipse Spyder GS and he Previous owner had taken ut the Infinity CD player and installed a different one. When I purchased the car today, he took out his and gave me the stock Infinity CD player to reinstall, I hooked up he small and large white plugs and the antenna plug to the back of the CD Player but I do not have either of the black round cables in the car that will match up to the 2 on the cd player. I have one round one with 6 pins but it does not fit into either of the plugs. I entered the code the dealership gave me then pressed CD or AM/FM and nothing happens. I can put a CD in it and it will take it and eject when I press eject. I do not have any digital display so I have no idea if the codes even work or when i is on. Please help!!

Okay, this is not another one of those "I need a radio code" posts.
My dealership is asking for my serial number and model number (starting with MR) to obtain the radio code. For reference, I have a '01 Galant.
I found the serial number on the top edge of the radio, without even having to remove the unit. I just removed the trim and it was visible.
Do I need to remove the radio unit to view the model number?
If so, my second question is, how do I get the radio unit out?
There aren't any screws attached to the radio. Just two notches holding it in place. But it won't budge! Are there wires or antennas holding it in place?
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I need to replace my stock radio/cd player in my 99 GS Spyder.
I was looking at Crutchfield for ideas. This is what I'm looking at:
Pioneer DEH-P3900MPSeems to have what I want. Plays CDs, MP3, along with AM/FM radio.
Plus it comes with the free Installation kit (wiring harness, and dash kit).
So any comments on this?

OK. if anyone still struggling with this....
I just completed installing a JENSEN MP8610BT on my 99 montero sport with infinity system. I had to get on to bluetooh bandwagon.
Result is I got it to work with one annoyance. Which I will mention at the end but here is what I did.
I have an infinity system with factory amplifier that uses 6 pin din on my car.
I bought the Jensen HU with 3 preouts.
http://www.cardomain.com/item/JENMP8610BT?vq_id=noneI bought on interface adaptor which lets you adjust the gain level, I guess you can skip this piece. I wasn't sure if the preouts deliver too much power to amplifier and ruin speaker.
http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOFAI3I bought a MITAH adapter plus wire harness with power wires
http://www.cardomain.com/item/PERMITAHConnected interface adaptor to HU and Mitah to interface adapter's output RCA jacks. There are two sets of RCA outputs from interface adapter. Adjusted gain level so that sound does't get distorted at about 80 percent.
Connected yellow(power) wire from wiring harness to radio yellow wire
connected red(ignition) wire to red from radio
connected balck to ground(chasis)
Now there were two more wires that needed to be connected.
- One bule wire from radio (manual says connect this either to power antenna or amp remote turn on)
- One blue wire from MITAH ( This is remote amplifier turn on)
On the main wiring harness there is only one blue wire.
I ended up connecting both blue from radio and blue from MITAH to the same blue wire from factory harness.
System works perfect except for one annoyance that the power antenna gets activated every time I trun the system on even if I am playing CDs or using the bluetooth etc.
I am planning on checking if I can supply power to amp turn on from some other place so that I might be able to get antenna to act as it should.
If anyone has ideas, please let me know.

Hey all, just wondering if anyone out there would know how, or what would be needed to replace the infinity head unit in my 2006 Lancer RalliArt. Currently i have the 315W Infinity sound system with the 6-disc changer and the 8"infinity sub in the back. This is a 6 speaker set-up, two components on the A-pillars, 2 door speakers and 2 trunk speakers plue the sub. Now i have a 2005 Alpine CDA-9865, and am looking for the best, easiest way to instla this. However, the main problem i am running into is figuring out how to use the existing connection to the underseat amplifier vs. running all the speaker wire up to myhead unit. Another issue im having is how to get the 6-disc changer to work with my unit. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
