alright i didnt know if this was possible or discussed before but the infinity system in my gsx doesnt have a very high max volume. i know the speakers can handle the wattage. infinity tweeters are like 80 bucks a peice. they can handle alot. so then why is the stock sound so low? is it possible to turn the amp up higher and/or how could i do this? any insight would be awesome

I just ran all the wires for my amp that i pulled out of my last car, from my previous experience with installing an amp, there is a blue wire coming out of the back of the head unit for me to connect my remote wire too, the factory system in my 03 gs doesn't have a blue wire nor are the wires labeled, does anyone have a color code for the factory system, or just knows which one the remote wire is? The service manual posted on this forum for my audio circuit really didnt help me.

I have a 99 Eclipse and when it was inspected they disconnected the battery and the code is now required. The only problem is there are no cards that came with the car verifying the code.
Do I have to get the serial number off of the back of the radio and then will any Mistubishi dealer in my area give me the corresponding code? or are they just going to say bring the car in so they can charge me an arm and a leg for a simple code so I can finally listen to some music in my car.
Thank you very much and I look forward to any help anyone can give me on this and what to say to Mitsubishi etc.
Dean

The fuse that controls the lights for the odometer and the lights for the A/C instrument panel keeps blowing out... If I change the fuse with the lights in the "on" position you can physically see the fuse being blown by a spark... If I change it with the lights in the "off" position then I can re-seat the fuse but once the lights are turned on, then it blows out again... I've gone through 2 whole packs of fuses in less than 10 minutes... Anyone have any sugestions?
Oh yeah by the way, I have a 2001 Montero Sport XS Sport...
Someone please help, I cannot see how fast I'm going at night and I don't want to give the dealership my money to fix a fuse... Thanks!!!

The battery in my car was disconnected which then triggered the security code in my radio. I do not have the code because I am the second owner of my eclipse and the previous owner did not give me the code. After doing research, I learned that in order to get the code, I have to remove the radio to get the code off the back of it. How do I carefully remove the factory radio??

I'm looking at a 1997 Mitsubishi Carisma 1.6 which a mate of mine owns. He was using the interior heater & last day it just stopped working. Around the same time, the Central locking was also seen to have stopped working.
I checked all the fuses in the engine compartment & at the driver footwell. All were ok. Checked out the heater fan on passenger side footwell; no 12V seen on fan wires which would rule out faulty fan being the cause of the problem. None of the fan speeds work which may also mean the switch is good.
Any suggestions people? Is there a shared resource here?
Have been looking for a wiring diagram but had no luck. Short of buying a Haynes manual, has anyone a wiring diagram they could scan in or something please.
Thanks in advance,
Anthony

I have recently installed an alpine system in my Mitsubishi Magna and have decided to buy the subwoofer to finish the system off.
I have mounted the amp on a false back made of mdf in the boot of my car (flat against the rear seats) I want to keep as much room free in my boot as possible and also not block the view of my amp. A solution to this is to mount the subwoofer in the rear shelf passenger side, where there is a convenient 10" sub hole factory made.
Now we come to my question, what do I need to do? do I need to install some sort of box around the subwoofer? if yes, can the box be small and attached to the roof of the trunk? does anyone know if this will sound ok? any suggestions, links or help would be greatly appreciated...
I have attached 2 pictures of the boot to illustrate what I mean. (I am going to hide the wiring after I have finished)
System Specifications
Head unit - Alpine 9855
Amp - Alpine MRV F345
F Speakers - Alpine SPX 177R
R Speakers - Polk Audio
Not yet Installed
Alpine SWR-1042D 10" Type R Subwoofer 500wrms
Thanks in advance!

I am having trouble with my factory cd player. First I got an error code 03, which my manual saya there is an alignment problem and to replace the cd player. It took a little tinkering but i was able to get the cd's to eject. Now I get error code 1 or 2 which means it is out of focus or there is something on the disk. I am in the military and stationed in germany. They don't sell the endeavor here so getting this warrantied is going to be close to impossible. If any one has any info to help correct this please let me know.

Hey guys, I notice the other day when i went to start my car, it didn't want to start. I went and jumped started the car, and it ran fine the rest of the day. The next day i get up to go to school in the morning and it makes a hard start, i having to push the gas pedal to start the car. I noticed when i disconnected my amp in the back, i noticed that it wasn't so hard to it to start. I have a small battery to begin with but my dad thinks it is the starter going bad. I feel it might be that the battery is going due to the suck from the amp. But even after i took the amp off, it still is having hard starts. Should I have the battery replaced or is it the starter going bad. If you could help i would appreciate it.

Hi, I recently had my car repaired and when I got it back there is an "ERR" message everytime I turn the car stereo on. I have the code (I paid $25 for it before) but now I couldn't enter it. How can I make the "ERR" message go away so I can enter the code?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but here goes:
I am trying to upgrade the sterio in my Mightymax, got ahold of a mitsu amfm cass with CD controls and infinity sound. does this unit require the external amp to make noise? there are 2 round connectors on the back of the unit, one has 6 large pins in a circular patern and the other has 13 pins in a squareish patern. I am guessing that the 13 pin goes to the external CD changer and the 6 pin to the amp. an I correct on this? where can I get these cables?
when the factory infinity external amp is used, do the speaker leads leave from the amp or do they return through the cable and go out through the harness?
thanks for your help.

I have an '02 Galant with the Infinity system. I have discovered that the CD player gets too hot to touch after it has been on for a half hour or so. In addition, all of the CDs now miss from time to time but do not have scratches or any physical damage to account for this. The heat problem does not occur if the radio is playing while the engine is off and the key is in accessory.
I would like to replace the head with either a used one (cheaper) or an aftermarket head using the infamous PIA adapter. I have looked on Ebay for used equipment and the connections in the back seem like they might not be fully compatible. My unit has the wiring harness, 6 pin DIN, and what appears to be two antenna connections, one thin and one regular (or one regular and one fatter). Does anyone know why there are two antenna connections? The antenna in this model is integrated into the back window, so I don't know why there are two leads. Would the second one control the optional CD changer (which I don't have)?

My first post. I have recently aquired a 2003 spyder GT with the infiniti sound system. I am trying to install an amp and sub but cannot figure out which color the power wire for the antenna is to connect the remote lead from the amp to. I ran the wire from the trunk to the front took the head unit out and connot figure this out. Please help. Can I just hook the remote lead up to the antenna's ground wire in the trunk? I know the standard color is blue or blue and white but the infinity head unit does not have either. Also I need to use speaker level inputs so should I hook them up to the wire before or after the factory amp?

Hi Guys my electric window on the driver's side has stopped working properly!
Basically i can bring the window down ok, but when i make it go up the motor really strains, make a loud wirring sound.
Most of the time when bringing it up, it will go back down on its own right to the bottom, then when i try to bring it up again, it fails to go above about 2 inches, so i have to end up pulling it up while pressing the button.
Any Ideas On the fault?
And if you believe it could be a faulty motor, do you know anywhere that does replacements?
