I have a 1999 Eclipse with tan leather interior, and my friend has a 06 g6 gtp that has a sweet emblemwith gtp into the seat near the headrest. Is there a way I can get "eclipse" into my headrest or does anyone know a place that sells them already like this?
There is an example picture below to put words into a picture

Last week, I bought a 98 eclipse spyder. It needs a new paint job. There's an area on the rear bumper that looks like it was just spray painted, and the hood and a few other places have weird lines running down them. I was told it was from a crappy paint job.
I bought the car from a tow yard/auto body shop. They actually recommended I go to one-day paint to get it painted. I guess they figured I wouldn't want to spend the type of money they charge, though they do beautiful work.
I can't spend thousands on a paint job, but I want something that is going to at least look decent with proper maintenance. I'm working with a very small budget, and the paint job is going to be one of the last things I do. So really, how bad is it to go to a place like One-Day Paint? Is the car going to actually look bad? Or just not as good as a higher-end paint job?

I'm just trying to figure out what my problem is. When I try to turn the knob to heat, it won't go all the way. It's like the door that switches from A/C to heat gets stuck.
I have read about two fixes and am not sure which one is right.
Do I replace the HVAC Control panel?
Or
Do I replace the Linkage Kit and Heater Blend?

i want to know what the cheapest way to go about buying a automotive spray gun might be. some people have told me an Electric HVLP spray gun would be the absolute lowest cost for me, but my question is. at what working pressure do i need for automotive paint for a electric gun? or is that just a dumb idea? should i just buy a air compressor and buy a cheap gravity fed sprayer nozzle or what? i'd really appreciate the help if you have any, thanks.
by the way i am looking to start practicing painting on a POS junked car of mine so i can get a feel before i ever screw around with a nice car.

So i was thinking if i prepped it myself(this includes sanding, filling, primer) how much do you think i could save?

So as most of you know the 2g mitsubishi eclipse models have a nasty rattle when the window is down and you close it or even just drive. Well here is 1 useful way to fix it!
you want to roll the window down and take the door panel right off, along with the speaker and manual window scroller. I'm not going to give you a step by step - screw by screw detail because you are all grown men and are capable of doing this with ease
http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt294/b...ipsewindow2.jpg
http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt294/b...ipsewindow1.jpg
http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt294/b...ipsewindow3.jpg
now once all of this is clear, look in the speaker hole to the right and you will see a brass colored piece of steel attached to the window and what should be on a metal slide which guides the window. This little brass bitch is the source of the window shattering noise when you close the door. What you want to do is take this off using a 10mm socket (the bigger the hands you have the harder this will be, so be very careful not to lose anything).
http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt294/b...ipsewindow4.jpg
now, once this is out you need to bend in the piece that hooks onto the track, i just used a hammer and this is what it should look like. If you don't understand, I guarantee you will once you remove the piece.
http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt294/b...ipsewindow5.jpg
now put it back in place and tighten it. With this said you can put the speaker back in place. Now, before you put the door panel on I would recommend using some sort of insulating foam on the door to seal it where the top of the door rattles. the main rattle should be fixed but the plastic door frame itself still shakes right? This is just due to poor quality.. sad to say but it's true. Just spray foam in there, being cautious of course not to make a mess of your car.
Good luck to anyone trying to fix this

I hope this helped. Cheers

I have a 1991 Montero 4x4 SUV. It has a cracked trim plate around the stereo, this is the factory trim plate, not one which would be purchased 3rd party to put a new stereo in. If you've ever put a new stereo in, you know that this has to be removed in order to install the new stereo. I cannot find ANYWHERE where i can purchase one. In fact, I can't find much info on my montero at all.
Please help and thanks.

So a couple of days ago I finally end up getting pulled over for my headlights, im running 8000k for my lowbeams. Strangely enough they were doing it during the day and were only pulling people over for headlights not speed (as i saw them indicating to people to slow down rather than pulling them over).
But anyways since im not in the mood to get pulled over again im considering to go down the k range but, as i looked at the MVA and the SAE I see no indication of what k your headlights can go up to. The officer pulled me over indicating that my headlights were "blue" resulting in my ticket. But in the regulations i see no mention of color. The only thing is i see is that cars must have only OEM lighting, which is quite silly because not all OEM lightning is the same and this does not include european cars. Various cars have different kinds of lighting systems so the only claim they should me making against me is that not because it is blue, it is because it is not stock? However, I do see that no stock car is actually running blue headlights unless its a european make. So my question really is what exactly is the allowable range, I know most companies for their HIDs run a stock 4300. So would it be safe to say to go with 4300? Plus Im assuming in order to change my 8000k to 4300k it is not the bulbs but Id have to purchase new ballasts? Basically I should be buying a new kit all together?

Okay, so I recently decided I wanted those blueish headlights I always see sometimes.
I went to my friend (who works at Pep Boys, so I thought he would know what he was talking about). He explained the difference between true HID lights, and the simple replacement bulbs that mimic the look for HID lights. I told him that I really wasn't interested in doing any modding, I just wanted blueish headlights because it seemed like they would make it easier to see at nights. He linked me to
Hipro Power 5900k replacement bulbs on Ebay. I immediately ordered them, because I trusted him when he told me that they would work fine and that they were completely legal.
After that, I decided to double check just in case, but I could not really figure out if they are or not. While I was checking on that issue, I stumbled upon
this. Will these bulbs have the same effect on my vehicle, or was that specific to the Kia / the particular Kia bulbs?
basically I want to know if these are illegal or not, and if they will mess up my car or not.
Thanks in advance

I have two sideskirts that I want to get installed (parts already purchased). They need to be painted, bolted on and a bit of cutting around the edges to make them fit/look correct.
About how much would you guys estimate I should be charged for such a job (done professionally). Also, anything to look out for?

Here are some basic instructions on installing a kit yourself:
Before Starting: It is important that you understand, before starting, that you know how to properly clean and prep the surface where you will be installing the new parts. Here is a quick guide:
Use a cloth and either grease remover or lacquer thinner to clean and thoroughly remove dirt and grime from the surface area of the car where you be applying the double sided tape. Once your finished cleaning, use an adequate amount of adhesion promoter to apply a thin coat to the surface where you will be applying the tape. Make sure the adhesion promoter has enough time to dry before attempting to install any parts.
If you're interested in saving some money you can install a
Body Kits yourself instead of hiring a professional.

Has anyone had any experience or heard anything about some cheaper racing seats? On ebay this company called "JDM" sells knock-offs of recaros and other leading brands for $300 for both front seats, but I wouldn't want to take the chance unless I had heard anything about them first. I'm looking for seats or just one seat, but I don't want to pay $400+ for a seat. So any advice or other less expensive brands would be cool

I just recently bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. This is the second eclipse that I've purchased. (first one I wrecked). Anyway to my problem. The previous owner said while he was installing a stereo. He shorted somthing out behind the dash. The digital clock on the dash doesn't work. The power locks dont work unless the key is in the on position. The emergency flashers dont work unless the key is in the on position. The sunroof doesn't work at all.
Can somone give me ideas of whats wrong and how to fix?

I've got an '08 lancer GTS and I just noticed that the B-Pillar black matte covering is starting to peel (I'm talking about 2 millimeters) on the passenger side door at the top. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if it will get much worse over time. The car is white so if it peels it will be 100% noticeable. I will be going in to add the alloy fuel door soon so I'll ask at the dealership then, but just wondering if anyone else has any suggestions for now. Thanks.
