Hey its me again, a little problem I'm having is that my handbrake light on the dashboard turns on when i accelerate, all the way up to 3rd gear it turns off. Anybody know Why? and is it fixable?

hey my car usually runs around 12.5-13 volts. i was reading something about alternators somewhere, and it was talking about your car should be running at about 14.4 volts. my headlights always seemed dim but i thought it was just because my friend said they were angled straight down, could it be because my voltage is lower, and if so, how do i increase my voltage?

hey guys i just signed up and i wanted to see if you guys can help get some more power out of my car. I have a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000gt SL automatic 4 speed with a 1994 engine in it, so far i have a K&N filter air intake, custom exhaust , and a Turbonator( It actually works). I want to give it some more power and acceleration, but for not alot of money at least not yet, thinking of spending about $1000 TO $1500 FOR EACH DIFFERENT PART, Any Tips or advise? Also good web sites for hoods and bodykits. THANKS

I was looking at the rear of my engine bay today and noticed a braded wire coming off of the side of the silver Mitsubishi vehicle description tag (driver's side). Where does the other end of that go? It has to be a grounding wire, but for what? Mine is just hanging down. Something I forgot to put back one day.

Hi all 3000GT owners
I recently lost positive terminal to battery. (Just like dead battery). Since then I lost power to my Alpine 6 cd changer unit and the radio doesn't work. All functions of Radio work fine, but no volume..its operating under mute condition. I can bearly hear the sound. I cannot pump up the volume either through on console volume nob or steering wheel volume controls. All other functions work fine. There is no CodeE error message. Any help or feedback will be appreciated. The model is M529 and I believe it is infinity system.

ok i have been goin a lot of research since i got my car and from what i can find this is the best route to take for a monster of a car. i was wondering what do i need to do and what do i need to get to do this i know that i will have to change the compression from 10: to 8-9:1 to be able to run big boost with the turbos but what all has to be done and bought has any one done this?

I am DESPERATE for a harmonic balancer for my 94 GT..... Any thoughts? A new one costs $270 from the dealer and takes 4 days... I know that the 92-96 Diamante are the same and the 91-96 Stealth and 91-99 DOHC 3000GT.. Any others that are compatible?
I need this done THIS weekend....

I just got the car(3000gtSL) 2 weeks ago and its been running great ever since i got the exhaust leak fixed and the crankshaft pulley fixed but all the sudden im having some problems. i woke up this morning and drove to my brothers soccer game, the car ran perfect. after the soccer game i turn the car on and its running really slow. it feels like its not shifting ( its an automatic btw) and i dont know why. it feels like its starting off in a really low gear and it never leaves from tht gear. the check engine light didnt come on for a while so i drove it to the store. On the way back the check engine light came on. Im not too worried about this because it happend once a few days ago but i let it sit without driving it for like 4 hours and then it just started fine and drove normally. the check engine light used to come on all the time but after i took it into the shop to get other things fixed(got the car completely looked over and they said their was nothing else wrong with it accept it will need to belts and other minor things in the future), it didint come on. And i figured out that it was only coming on because of the battery cables are loose. Im sure if i let my car sit it will run normally again but im just really worried that this keeps happening. anyone have any ideas on whats wrong with my car?

sorry that i keep posting about small things wrong with my car but i really dont know much about it and i dont have a manuel or the money to buy one since i heard they were like 100 so this is my cheapest way of learning

on my way home today just from the store i hit both my windows down from my door and didnt notice til i got home that the passenger window didnt go down. i drove 4 hours to blackburg va yesterday and it worked all day, and its never had a problem since i got the car. but when i got in my driveway it wouldnt move by either my control of passenger side control? how can i fix it, how much will it cost, and how much work will it take to do it?

There is gushing water coming in everytime it rains, I live in FL so that is very, very common, specially in summer. It pours on the driver side but sometimes it also on the passanger side, it started with a few drops but now it pours like half a glass of water each time.
Should I take it to have the windshield replaced? A friend of mine said to put silicon on it, would this work? How do I do this? I not very mechanical enclined or very handy.
Thanks in advanced on any advice you can provide.

So, I know the past 5 years or so have been tough on Mitsubishi but I was wondering what people think the chances were of 3000GT return???
Now, I'm biased b/c I love the car but it never made sense to me when they discontinued it.
If Mitsu is going to turn their company around (which they are trying to do) they need their customers to keep coming back when its ready to buy a new car.
Think of it this way
High school= EVO
College = Eclipse
Real Word= 3000GT
35+yrs old = Diamante
If The Family Guy can return to Fox, then the 3000GT can return to Mitsubishi!!!!
p.s. Does anyone have info that states why Mitsu decided to discontinue the car???

Hello,
I need to know where is the location of the drain hose in order to unclog it.
My AC is leaking on the passanger side. It was making a rain-stick noise every curve I took. I opened up the compartment on the passager side under the clove compartment (where the fan is) and a lot of water came out, almost a gallon. I dried the fan, cleaned it (there were a lot of leaves) I blowed some compressed air where I thought was the drain hose, but it is still doing it. I don't think I blew the air in the right place. Any advice will help.

i was wondering if anyone has tried a 3000gt awd tranny in a 3g eclipse
i know its cheaper to get a 3000gt but like the way 3g eclipse's look like and i want them to perform as good as they look so if u got any info that could help or if u think it can or can't be done please let me know even an evo awd swap and the 4 cly would perform good it would'nt be a v6 but it would definitly do

as ive said before, sometimes when i accelerate after i turn on my car, it burns light blue smoke. well ive driven my car about 3000 miles since i bought it so i finally changed the oil filter, oil, and air filter today. after changing it, my oil pressure guage idles about 1 bar below the low bar across the guage, but when i rev my car while in neutral or when driving it jumps up, about to the low bar when at low rpms, and about half way between the low and high bar up the guage if i kick it up to about 5 rpms. is that normal? is it suppose to be higher?

The driver's side headlight housing on my car is burned on the surface. I have noticed this on a few 3000GT's where the heat generated from the headlights doesn't seem to have a place to go and burns through the the top of the housing leaving a burn blotch on the top of the headlight housing. I have found that using an SOS pad very lightly all but removes the blotch with little scratching, but I can see it starting to burn again. Is anyone familiar with this, and if so, is it some kind of design flaw that doesn't allow the heat to escape? Thanks.

Ok i just bought a 93 3kgt base, i beleive it is the same as the sl engine wise just no leather and other interior stuff. but i was wondering about mods i just put a hks short ram in it, i am goin be be doin a full exhaust, but i am curious about turbo, and superchargers i need some advise this is a project car my goal is 400hp thank you.

I get an intermittent valve lifter tick and cannot seem to determine what causes it. If it was constant I would think it was bad lifter. But it is not constant and has been like this for at least 10,000 miles. One mechanic said it might not be a lifter but perhaps a rocker moving back and forth. What do you think

I am lookin at vr4 3000gt's but I'm going to have to get either an older model or one with high miles. I love the back of the 97' and have seen people get a conversion kit making there older model look like a 97's back. I checked www.3sxperformance.com and they only have front conversions for a 99 I think it is. Does anyone know where to find a the 97 conversion kit?

Hi, all----
Earlier this year, I purchased a 3000GT...my dream car; something I've wanted since high school.
It's a 1998SL. Black, tan interior. Purchased with just a little over 31k miles! It's an automatic and while I definitely would have preferred clutch, couldn't pass it up with those incredibly low miles. It's close to 35K now...I'm trying to keep it low.
I'm a bit of a purist; I don't want to get into any serious mods (Or really any, for that matter...it's an awesome car that doesn't, imo, need help being gorgeous).
I would love, however, any suggestions for a good Mitsu mechanic in the MD area. The car 'shudders' at about 40 and again at 60. I am guessing it's a timing issue but I don't know a lot about the nuts and bolts of such things, so I'd like to find a great mechanic that can take good care of the car for me. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks! :>

It seems I have a dead cylinder.. It is number 5 I think, the front left one.. The engine shakes a lot, has NO power at low rpms (I can barely spin my tires, and it is VERY slow taking off), nd it runs the same with or without tha cylinder plugged in....
It has 175 psi compression, Spark and I can feel the fuel injector ticking so I think it has fuel...
Any thoughts??

I have a 98 SL with stock HU (Infinity). As of now I am running my iPod through the tape but I want a permanent mount and hardwire hookup for it.....anyone have any ideas?
PS- Forget the iTrip since I live in Boston and every **** college has a radio station in the 87's -89's. Crappy signal

Hi all
Just registered and the site looks cool. Finally spashed out on a decent boost controller and got rid of that old bleed valve. I went for Greddy's PRofec E-01 unit and first impressions are great. Fitted the unit and plumbed it in (to the best of my abilities), but have run into trouble!!!
Has anyone installed one of these on the TT? I am sure the wiring is all ok but maybee the plumbing is wrong, as the unit works fine but is not cutting the boost...
someone help before it goes BANG!!!

Hello everyone. I just sold my car and I am looking into buying a 3000GT or Stealth (since they are the same) I have done my research as far as recalls, 60K maint. and read through numerous posts. I can't afford a Vr-4 so I am looking at the SL or the R/T. Both of the ones I am looking at have over 100k. The Stealth is at 105,000 with belt changed at 60K and the 3000GT is at 125,000 with belt changed at 120K. Any recomindations, or specifics I should look for? Everyone has said to get one under 100K but thats not an option (haven't even seen one for sale under 100K) or get the TT but I can't afford it. So please let me know what you think, thanks.

i have a 98 model and i thought i'd put some spoiler to this car. fortunately a friend has this 96
3000gt spoiler on his garage. given the difference in the year, can the spoiler actually fit? i don't know if they have same body style, coz if they do then i'm pretty sure it'll fit.
any responses on this are well appreciated.

My car just started idleing really low and sometimes it even dies. I replaced the fuel filter, but it didn't help.. It doesn't always do this... It seems to be kinda random..

Its dead again!! I think I need to replace my Crankshaft positioner sensor AGAIN. the little pin in my crankshaft pulley came out and got chewed up now the sensor looks like a piece may be broken off and there was little metal grits all over.... It died and wont start........
******* ****! Its $90 for the sensor I know cause I just put that one on it!!!

Hey-
My rear head was still good even after the timing belt broke... The front head however was not.. I got a set of 92 heads from a junk yard and swapped the cams from my head to the 92 front head and installed it. now the front cylinders are only getting about 130 compression... Does anyone know why?
