i have to change my crankshaft sensor is it hard to do i have a 2001 v6 eclipes

Alright, my carpet is pretty messed up from the evaporator leak, can anyone recommend a good place to buy pre-molded carpet for an 01 Eclipse Spyder?

Does anyone know if my 2003 Eclipse GT would have a compatible bike rack? Either roof-mounted or the trunk type?

I figured I'd stop here before getting jipped at the car dealer...

Went to the mechanic for the routine oil change this week and got a whole lot more back...ok so he told me that my motor mouts front and rear trans were on the way out and needed to be fixed ASAP ($425 w/ install) does that price sound right? then he noticed a slight click on my passenger side and it was my sway bar ($125 w/ install) does that sound right?

Basically all and all I got bent over. I have a "family friend" whos job is basically to fix everything from toasters to tvs to cars and he promises me he can fix it for cheaper but I know if i go to the mechanic the work is guarenteed what should I do? any advice or answers to my price quotes would be appreciated.

only when i start the car first time in the morning, she will turn over but the rpms are really low and it sounds like shes gonna stall out.

i turn the key and she starts i dont have to keep trying to crank her. the sounds i get after i let go of the key are like this

vroooom put, put put put vroooom.


after sitting at like .45K rpms for a couple of seconds she will finally go to
around 1.4 (what she usually sits at from a cold start)

i just had my battery checked yesterday and the mech said it was good.

this started about a week ago

i replaced my plugs and wires to ngk and just put in a cold air intake. a couple of days before the funny start began.

She starts right up at any other time of the day with no problems. Except the first start of the day when shes been untouched for about 8 hours.'

please help

My Friend has a a 00 Eclipse GS with full exhaust and intake, and wants to race it buts cant get it to rev up and then move, so even form a roll and all manual cars will take him (even slower ones), seeing as how he is playing catch up from the begining. Does any one have a technique as to how to do this???????

does anyone know if running unleaded plus instead of high test will cause any damage on a 2000 gt v6?

i just bought a cold air intake for my eclipse gs 2.4 liter 4 banger

and i followed the air intake from the filter and i ran across this black box with some wires plugging into it i do not know what this is..and if i use the colr air intake do i remove this box or do i keep it in the same spot

if someone can help me asap cause i have to be at work in 3 hours and i kinda dont have a air intake on my car lol

Hey does the eclipse need a Limited slip to manage power efficiently, or does traction control work just as good?

ok...ive only had this happen to me 3 times so far but it scares the living h*ll outta me everytime... when i am turning right out of a parking lot or onto another street there is a huge clunk that comes from my drivers side door... it is so loud it sounds like something is hitting the side of my car... its the weirdest thing in the world.. and i wouldnt think there was anything inside my door becuase it would happen more often and it doesnt clunk when i take a turn quickly or anything like that...but rather when im going pretty slow... any ideas?

sup guys. im setting up my 2000 GT for supercharging. I got my CAI thats it for now. im holding off on the exhaust cause i dont wanna look like a ricer just yet.

i hear the next step is to get headers. and i read that the headers need a AFC, if not need, would not get full potential without it

question 1 - whats the diff between the Apexi SAFC, SAFC 2, VAFC or the Greddy emanage blue ? and which one would be more recommended.

im looking at the RIPP mods supercharges seeing as how they seem to be only ones to make a SDS for our cars.

Question 2 - whats the difference between Stage 1 and the tuners kit ? besides more horse power ? what i mean is, if i buy the tuners kit, will i be supercharged, or do i have to buy the tuners kit first then the stage one ? i guess i should prob just email RIPP lol.

Question 3 (suspension) whats the difference between KYB AGX/ say sportline springs and coilovers aside from a HUGE price difference ? is one more reliable than the other ?

Question 4. the I read the tien coilovers are adjustable from the cab, is that only the tien flex coilovers or does it include the basics and the superstreet as long as u have the controller. ?

I have a 2000 Eclipse GT, and the car idles rough when you start it in cold weather. It usually completely dies within the first 30 seconds of starting it. But if it is warm out, the car will idle rough for a couple seconds once in a while then be fine. I used to have an AEM cold air intake installed on the car. I heard the intake can cause your Mass Air Flow sensor and your oxygen sensor to go out on the car due to the oil being sucked through the filter and clogging the sensors. Do you think that is what is causing my problem? A local garage just replaced the Idle control motor thinking that was it. I don't think it has anything to do with the alternator since I have a yellow top optima battery in the car, unless the battery is bad. I would really appreciate any ideas/help anyone wants to give. Hi, my friend has a 2001 Eclipse and she's looking to get her EGR valve replaced. A couple of friends I have talked to say that her EGR valve is an electronic part, and that she should just get it replaced by a shop.

However, what I want to know is whether this is necessary, or is this something that I can replace without much difficulty? I won't get to see her car until tomorrow, but can anybody tell me if this part is difficult to reach and remove?

Whats going on, im new to the forum, i have a 3G Eclipse RS, and i was just wondering (1) if anyone knows a good site to find camshafts for the RS model, i've looked without any luck and (2) if the performance exhausts for the V6 models can be interchanged into the 2.4L models, went to the mitsubishi dealer and talked to a guy in the parts department and he said they couldnt doesnt make sense to me though cause on both models they run over the rear axle, but maybe im wrong? idk, anyone one who can anwser either one those would be helpful.

You all know the deal with the soft rims issue on an '01 Mitsubishi Eclipses Spyders Well, I replaced my rims recently and now have a set of 4 rims that I don't know what to do with. I figured I might post them on Ebay for sale 'as is'. The wheels aren't warped, but each one has is bent on the outer rim. Any suggestions as to what I should do with them? Are they worth anything?

I have a question.. I'm triying to buy clear bumper lenses for my ECLIPSE , but almost all the web pages just show lenses for 00 01 02 and 03. They never show lenses for 04 , and i ask to the sellers and they dont have any idea if the 03 leses can fits the 04 model, somebody knows this?

CAN i install 02 or 03 clear lenses to my 04 ECLIPSE,??? is almost the same...Please i need to know this , thanks....

hey im wonderig if it is possible to put an all wheel drive setup (evo?) and put it on using the GT's 6G72 motor? like is it physicaly possible, with like 3,000 of moifications? im not saying im gona do it, but i just wanted to know

Yes I brought my car in to get the breaks checked. They said the breaks are fine, but they squeak like crazy. Does anyone know what it could be, or has anyone ever have this problem? Thanks.

i was woundering if i needed to mod my 02 eclipse gs in any way to install my new cold air intake.My problem is when i installed it my car started back firing.Do I still need my intake temperture sensor?Can some one please help me?

I just got a 02 eclipse gt, and it was wrecked. I put a body kit on it and fixed every thing but the radio it want's a code. Will the dealer give you the code or will they want you to bring it in? Or can I get the code off the web? And one more ? is there a step by step thing I should know when I get this code?

for some reason my Dash Pad on my Eclipse 2000 GS, has cracked up all over the place. Has anyone had a similar experience, and know what to do about it. The dealer would charger over $1000 to replace it, any suggestions where to get a used one to replace it with?

Ok i understand about how crappy our stock pistons are in this car and everything and i plan on either getting Tearstone's race block or one of RPW stage blocks to fix this problem, but i have just a couple quick questions.
How much boost and tearstone's block handle without the Crower rods and with the rods?
How good are the RPW's blocks i havent really heard anyone say anything about them all i ever hear about is Tearstone's? Are RPW's blocks just that expensive or is Tearstone's block just that much better or what?
How much boost can we run on this car with just 93 octane gas?
How good is Ripp's tuner kit for there supercharger? Is it worth the money or should i just screw the headers and it for a turbo kit?

So many choices it driving me mad!!!!

Can someone point me to a DIY on how to adjust the clutch catch point? My wife's car clutch won't engage until it's almost on the floor and I'd like for it to catch at least an inch farther out.

im doing a clutch overhaul... and i was curious if any of you guys have taken the trans out without taking the engine out... if so... did you guys have to take out the engine cradle (thing which holds rack and pinion set and control arms n' such) to get the trans to come out? now when i go up with the trans it hits the body... when i go down it hits the engine cradle.

Hey just out of curiosity, when you install the tearstone turbo kit (6G72) does it have something to make the car do the 1 minute idle before shut off? or do you have to get something like that seperatly?

there talking about this BRAT thing on ripp mods but i really dont understand what its for? is it to tune our stock GT or is it only for supercharged or turbo Eclipses? is this like a ecu where we can get more power out of a stock GT eclipse?
