i recently bought a 2001 eclipse GT V6 and was looking to modify it a bit. i had in mind puting on a cold air intake and and geting the exaust done. im prety sure i wouldnt be able to do the exaust myself, but is the cold air intake something i can do by myself with fairly minimal tools? i realy dont feel like paying someone else to do it if i can do it myself

hey everyone, i was looking on craigslist and i found a rebuilt td04h turbo for sale. i was planning on eventually building my own turbo kit, and i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these turbos. i tried looking online, but i couldnt find anything. any help would be appreciated. thanks

i recently bought a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse gs and my question is did this model have wireless entry as standard? there was no key fob that came with my vehicle (that i bought from a dealership) and it is possible that it became lost. i would like to know if i should find a mitsubishi dealership and order a new key fob. thanks

anyone know how to adjust the tension pulley on the serpentine belt for my car. I currently bought a knew belt as mine came off, and almost got it to fit around, except i dont know how to adjust the tension for the pulley. Any help is appreciated.

Just yesterday my car started making a really strange noise, like a loud repetitive clicking noise when the car was idling, or wen i wasnt using the gas. The green a/c light in the center console was also blinking, something i only seen it do once a couple weeks ago. ALso, a burning smell occured wen i was driving, and wen i turned the a/c on, smoke came through one of the vents. Now wen i start the car, that loud clicking noise comes on after a while, and i was wondering if u guys knew what it was. My friend said it could be a leak wit my freon/a/c, but im not sure. Thankz

I have a problem with my cooling system on my 2000 Eclipse GT. Last week, I noticed that whenever the car is left idling after it's been driven, my temp gauge goes up to almost 3/4 of the way!!

There is no sign of coolant or oil leakage and I just had my cooling system flushed about 2 months ago, so I'm sure that's good. I check my fluid levels constantly, and they are fine (i.e. oil and coolant). I thought maybe my thermostat was sticking, so I replaced it and didn't fix the problem. I went ahead and inspected my radiator cap. I didn't see anything wrong with it, but replaced it any way with the stock pressure rating (considered increasing the pressure) and didn't help.

My cousin told me to check the thermal switch, but I'm not sure how to check it. He said the switch closes whenever it reaches a certain temperature so that the fans turn on. I figured the only way to check it is to let the engine get hot again, but I'm reluctant to do this and doesn't seem safe to both the engine and I. Should I replace/check this switch, or whatelse should I check. i just hope it's not the radiator.

alright, how the hell do i get my front speakers put in. I have power windows and locks, no power mirrors. i cannot get the door off, and i dont want to break anything. help please.

so my gears make a very quick grind from 1st into 2nd and 2nd into 3rd only. not 3rd into second or anything like that. only when the car is moving, not sitting still and with clutch in just moving in and out of gears. its a quick grind, not very loud, but can feel the vibration in the shifter. whats up?

I bought a 2001 Eclipse GT V6 for my son last week (yes, he is very excited). Going into it I knew the radio has no sound (but functions fine) and the air bag light was on.

I have researched the forum and can't find a specific answer regarding the radio. It's a stock Infinity, premium sound system, which I guess means it has the Sound Amp under the seat. The system has no sound at all but acts like it plays CD's etc. I checked the 20 amp fuse inside the car and it looks fine. Is there a direction I can pursue. Please keep in mind I am new to this car, but not afraid to poke around.

The air bag light is on also. My guess is that's a dealer thing?

My 03 GS Spyder (2.4L) has an error code for cylinder 1 misfire. I replaced the spark plugs and cleared the error code, but it came back. It only has 34000 miles on it and the cables look fine. Is there a common cause of this problem? What are some possible causes and how could I go about testing for them? Thanks.

i Hope someone can help me with this one. I have a 2002 eclipse spyder and everytime i turn off the car for more than an hour i have to re-enter the radio code and i lose all my station presets. I have checked both fuses(multiple times) and checked to make sure that there is still current going to the radio when shut off. If i turn the car off and only leave for a few minutes it is fine, takes about an hour to clear itself. Any ideas?

Hi, I couldn't find any information on this topic via a search so perhaps the problem is unique to me. I own a 2002 Spyder convertible and it seems like every time I hit a pothole I have to buy a new wheel. Four times in the last year. Its not difficult to hit potholes in the Bronx (where I work) or Connecticut (where I live) especially in winter. I don't drive in a way that magnifies the likelihood of hitting them. My questions are: is this a problem common to Spyder convertibles or all cars this size and, whether or not it is, is any invisible damage being done to the car by this frequency which I should alert my garage to? Many thanks for any advice you can give me.

I want to take it off so that my exhuast will be louder. i see two spots that it could be in but i need to know which of the two. after the cat, there is a bigger pipe that the reg size pipes go into, it is longer than the second, but the second pipe is closer to the muffler. which of the two is the silencer? or is it before the cat, like where the intake is, i am not sure. i just got this car.

I know this doesn't sound like a big problem but it's driving me crazy.
I've read my Manuel and no where in there does it tell me how to fix the center accessory box light. (You know the light right below the stereo, in front of the stick shift?)
I'm not sure if it's the fuse or the light? I looked where it talked about fuses and it didn't tell me anything about the light. I looked in the changing lights, and it didn't tell me anything in there ether.

So to reiterate. I'm wondering if someone can tell me how to fix the light in the Center Accessory box? That is in front of the stick shift, under the stereo.

2001 Eclipse GT

When i push in the button, the green "CRUISE" indicator turns on. But when I try to set the cruise...nothing happens. Has automanual transmission and doesn't work in both modes. Please help!

I went away for a week (7 days) and when I rerturned my 2000 Mitsu Eclipse Gt was completely dead. I quickly discovered that I had left my neons on that are under my front dash and assumed that is what drained the battery (Battery is only 6 months old). I jump started it and it quickly started up and i drove it around for about 20 miles. However the next day the battery was dead again. Also when I come to a red light the car putts like it wants to stall but never does. I replaced the battery with a new one but i am having the same problem when i come to red lights so i am assuming that the problem is further than just a dead battery. Also, I noticed that one of my amplifiers fuse had blown out. I tried to replace it but everytime i put a new one in it blows immediately? My other amp is just fine. Could this problem be related somehow? Perhaps a bad Alternator? Thank You in advance for any insight.

Well, anyway, I have a 2000 GT, and right now I have the Magnaflow Race Series Muffler. I recently crashed my car and am going to get a new exhaust. I was thinking the Gs-t exhaust. Would I get the full catback, or just the muffler? and does anyone know of any sound clips where i could hear what it sounds like? i did try searching, but couldn't find anything. sorry about the kinda long post, and hopefully this is in the right place

I have been looking on some sites, all i can find are like 60 and 70 dollar push buttons. i have been to like auto zone and places like that but they only have flip switches or a tiny black push button. i am looking for one like the honda s2000 has. if anyone knows a site or something that has those for cheap, that would be great. thx

Has anyone else had problems with Powerslot roters warping? I have had this kit on my car for a few months now and I started having problems last week with my breaks giving off a little hum and vibration and now it is a pretty loud hum and vibration. I am going to take it in to see if the roters are bad or if it is something with the break system because I can't find anything wrong when I take them off to see wats wrong. I know I installed them properly and I broke them in the right way and so on, so I am just thinking it is something to do with the roters.

I just bought myself a 2001 Eclipse GT. It's a 5 speed manual with about 70,000 miles on it. I was wondering what kind of basic upgrades I can do to the car to see a different in it? Because this is my first car of my dreams and I have loved the eclipse's the day I seen them 6 years ago... I think I'm going to be on this forum a lot.
