I have a 3G from a state that required two plates on the car ( one front & rear )
I want to remove the front bracket and fill the holes left behind by its removal. A frend tells me there is a place somewhere a person can get the OEM color for your car to fill the holes (like buttons that fill the holes). Anyone ever hear of such a thing or have any suggestions I can use to make the front end look good with the bracket gone. I don't care to replace the front end.. hehe don't dislike the bracket that much.. thanks in advance.

Hi everyone I bought a 3g Eclipse a few weeks ago partly because I heard there were a lot of aftermarket parts for it. I don't have time to do engine stuff at this point but I am interested in replacing the headlights and the fog lamp cover. Where are some good places to buy these sorts of things?

Hi all, I really hope someone can help me with this issue. I have a 2003 Eclipse with the Infinity sound system and I want to be able to use my mp3 player in the car but (as you're all aware) the stupid sytem has no inputs. I really like the stereo and don't wan't to go through the hassle of replacing the head unit and trying to get the steering wheel controls to work etc.
I've discovered that an auxiliary input adaptor can be purchased for some cars to turn the disc changer input into rca ins but can't find one for any Mits newer than 99.
Does anyone know where an adaptor like this can be purchased for my car or of any other method of getting around this problem? I've already tried an FM modulator and it stinks.
I'd really appreciate any help or advice. thanks

I have a 00' eclipse gs and am starting to do a few mods to it. I am curious, is the gs model worth fixing up? I mean I know I can make it look great but can I get as much performance out of it as I could with a V6? Some people have told me that you can get more performance out of the 4 cylinder than the 6.

OK, this is the deal...my car has the internal antenna built into the back window, after going through one of those automatic car washes with the nice brushes my radio doesn't work. It's all static and I can only pick up about 3 stations (crappy stations might I add). Has anyone else had this problem??

I have installed a new alpine headunit with xm radio im my car. The problem is that now my am/fm reception is horrible I can barely pick up anything but local stations. If anyone has any idea how I could get this fixed please let me know

I have recently purchased a 2001 Spyder GT and am considering replacing the stereo. I know that there is a security feature that makes it necesary to enter a code on the stock radio if the battery is disconnected but is that necessary for a new stereo that is put in it's place, I am assuming no. Also, does anyone know the easiest way in which to remove the stock unit as I have heard that it can be dificult on the Eclipse. Thanks for your help.

hey there whats up, i am trying to figure out how to get the dash off of my 2003 eclipse. i would like to paint it and have some peices made int the center to hold my boost, exhausst temp, and air fuel guages. any help would be appreciated.

My wife's 2002 Mitsubishi Ecplise will not show the track playing or the time on her on the upper portion of her radio. Any suggestion before she takes it to the shop?

Also, she has a front fender that was hit. What are typical replacement fenders goig for? The color is black.

My wife drives a 2000 Eclipse (GS I think) manual tranny with about 45,000 miles on it. Both she and I have had problems with it being almost impossible at times to get it into first or second gear.

Any help is appreciated on what can be done, DIY articles, or posts to the same problem. I got under the car last week and discovered that the transmission linkage appears to be under the battery pan (?) and as I just changed the cabin filter on my car and flushed the coolant system, I wasn't up for another car task.

Hey all, first time post....anyway my girlfriend has a 2000 Eclipse that whenever you push lock on the keyless entry the doors will lock and the alarm will set. The problem is the alarm will randomly go off over and over for no reason. It just seems to like to go off. Is there a fuse i could pull that would disable the alarm feature but let her keep the keyless entry? We can't even lock the doors right now because it will set the alarm. All i want to do is to be able to lock the doors.

How in god's name do you change the dashboard clock?

I bought my Eclipse two and a half years ago. I bought it "used" (it was the lot's 'demo' model, never owned by anyone and only had 3000 miles on it) and it didn't come with a manual. Every time I've needed to change the clock, I'd either look it up on Google or have my friend would do it for me. Well now between the daylight savings time change and the fact that I've moved cross country, the clock is WAY off and I can't figure out how to change the darn thing. I've searched both Google and this forum, and can't find the instructions, so I'm hoping that someone here might be able to clue me in.
I promise to print it out and keep it in the glove box for all of eternity (or until I stop being cheap and go buy a manual).

im going to lower my eclipse pretty soon. im gonna use the tein-s springs to lower my car (1.7 front, 1.5 rear) and im going to leave the stock 17" rims on the car for a while, do you guys think it will look nice?

my main problem right now is!! do i have to lower the car first and then take it to an alignment shop and have them put the camber kit on the car so that the tires are even or can i lower the car and put on the camber kit at the same time and just have the alignment shop align it for me?

also are there any camber kits out there that u guys would recommend me?

Hey guys, I feel like a total ass saying this but is there anything I can do, besides replacing it, to fix my passenger side window? My 'lovely' boyfriend keeps closing the door by the window and has managed to bend the window so it gets stuck and you have to SLAM (and I do mean SLAM) that door to get it to close properly. Even once you get it closed you have to put the window down then up again to have the window shut properly. COMPLETELY frustrating!

Does anyone know how large of a tire we can put on the stock rims. I have a '02 Spyder GT with the 17" rims. They have 215-50's on them now. I would like to go to 225-50, or 235-45- 17. Anybody out there up-sized on an otherwise stock car?
I also plan to install an AEM short ram intake, different muffler, and maybe some sort of ignition upgrade. Any thoughts?

Does anyone have any ideas of how this could be done? I am thinking maybe they used a y-pipe (not a very wide one) and then 2 round mufflers. Or possibly added to the current pipe going down the left side, bent it around the gas tank, under the trunk and then had a muffler with 1 inlet, two outlets. Anyone else have theories on this? Ok my headlights on my 01 Eclipse are dusty....scratch that dusty doesnt begin to describe it. I handwash my car twice a week and go for a $20 job at the local car wash once a week, i own tire shine ,wheel cleaner the works and my car is USUALLY immaculate. The only problem is those damn headlights.

Ive heard of different ideas, like putting them in an oven and heating them on low (only temporary) and other crazy ideas.

The first problem i have is de-assembling them. I dont know where to start. And then any tips on how to actually clean and maintain them...i know this is one of the major problems with eclipse owners and i figure if this is my biggest problem right now ....im doing okay.

I saw this fan thing that goes in your intake hose that is suppose to increase ur horse power and give you better gas mileage for $70. I was just wondering if this is legit deal, like it actually works and isn't gonna mess up my ride at any point.

I am starting to paint the interior of my 2000 eclipse gs and need to remove the door panel to paint the bottom half of it. The panel is split into two textures, top is vinyl and bottom and sides are plastic. I want to paint the plastic. I am not sure if they are two different pieces or not. Any help is appreciated. I have a 2002 Eclipse GT, when i am slowing down there is this realy annoying rattle coming from it seems just below the instrument panel or under the steering wheel, but it is very consistent.

Any ideas what component it may be?

Also does anyone had any diagrams of the sunroof?

I am also getting noise and cracks from the roof somehwere almost like its flexing.

I'm probably gonna paint my brake calipers in the front and the drums in the back. I was just wondering if you guys have and recommendations on what brand/kind of paint to use for that. I know you need some type of heat resistant paint, but I dont know where to start lookin. Also, I wanna paint some of the interior parts of my Clipse. Any suggestions on what kind/brand of paint to use for that and also what I should or shouldn't paint?

I just bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS a couple days ago and there are a few things wrong with it:

1) When I open my power sunroof on my 01 GS it is very shaky and slow to open. I looked at the tracks that the sunroof slides on, and they are very dirty. So I assume the problem could be there. Any suggestions on how to clean that out and relubricate the tracks that it slides on?

2) The inside of one of my front headlights is very foggy and dirty. Is it too difficult to pull apart the housing and clean out the inside? And anyone know to the reason it got foggy inside the headlight?...Bad seals?

3) I only have one key. Can I just get any general copy of my key from like Wal-Mart? If not, any suggestions on a cheap way to get a new copy?

My car desperately needed an oil change. The same day I took it to get the oil change, the Service Engine Soon light came on. The mechanics tell me the only way to reset the light is to plug in the computer diagnostic, which costs close to a hundred dollars.
I know there is another way to do it - a sequence or something alike.
If anybody knows how to reset the Service Engine Soon light, please help!

Just wondering what you guys thought about this. An annnoying ticking for the first 10-15 mins. after starting. The car has 59000 mi., 3 liter. I know my jeep does this and is just the valves tapping no biggie. But this?
