my good friend just bought a 2001 eclipse and for some reason the turn signals both do not work. i know my way around cars pretty well but i just cant find the problem. the dash doesnt even light up so i immediately assumed that it was the electronic flasher...but where is it? i checked his fuses as well and they are also fine. or does mitsubishi use something different than a flasher? please help! he is bound to get pulled over soon with how loud his car is and no turn indicators! thanks!

I've got an 04 eclipse GT AT with an aftermarket radio, so my steering wheel radio switches are useless I was wondering is anyone has tried to tie them into the sport shifter and use them to shift through the gears. If so how hard was it? Any and all suggestions are welcome I will be atemping this next mon as hat is my only day of the week off.

yesterday i was driving around and my CEL came on, i went to a local auto shop and had them put it on the computer and it came up as a bad fuel level circuit sensor, not good. Also i have changed all of my dashboard lights and HVAC lights, now when i turn on the interior lights they dont light up. i checked the fuses by the dashboard and those are ok, i also checked under the hood and i found a 7.5 amp fuse that was blown so i replaced it with the same one and as soon as i turned my lights on the fuse blew again, ever since this has happened my right brake light does not come on.. does anyone know what the problem could be or at least guide me in the right direction in fixing this..

I just bought a used 2003 Spyder GTS with about 62k miles from the original owner. Everything in excellent condition, runs great. During the test drive I noticed that the shifter was a little stiff and would not always return to center (between 3rd & 4th) when in neutral. Seemed minor so I bought the car.

I took apart, cleaned & lubed the shifter linkage all the way to the transmission and changed the gear oil. Everything seemed very free when I got done. Took it out for a test drive and shifted fine. However, when it gets hot, the problem comes back. When it cools off the shifter gets free again. The transmission seems to shift fine, no grinding or difficulty getting it into gear, but since it does not always center itself going from 2nd to 3rd can be a problem.

Any ideas?

I have a 2001 Eclipse spyder and today i tried ( let me stress tried) to put an aftermarket stereo. After failing i decided to give up and put it all back but after doing so the keyless entry will not work nor will the interior lights and you can not lock the door with out having the key in the ignition (of course when you open the door it unlocks) anybody out there with some advise i would love to here it....



also i would like to know how to get the AftMrk radio in i never could get power to it couldn't figure out which harness to use

I saw that my car was throwing the "service engine soon" light so I had it scanned and it came up as misfire on cyl 4...Any ideas as to what could be causing this?
I only have 61,000 miles on it and it has been regularly serviced etc...Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

howdy all again countryrunner455 posting again. I know that a lot of you guys have help me make decision in the past and for that i am thankful. This time i need help selecting a High speed torque converter. Like "eclipsed4utoo" said in his "3g upgrade options" post i found two Rezlo torque convert but one is rated up to 300whp and the other one is rated for 300-500whp.

hello all - I am new here in the forum and I didnt know I can get help here. Can someone gave me an advice and help please. I bought Mitsubishi Eclipse Halo Black Housing Projector Headlights and i want to install it. I tried already took out all 3 screws so far and yet the whole thing wont still come off and something is holding it I think. I dont know where it is. I tried both sides and it is the same problem. So I stopped and check out the rear lights housing and it is the same thing. I am having hard time taking it off. Can someone help me please or advice what to do. Any help would be appreciated thank you very much !

i have a 2000 eclipse gt and sometimes when i am driving on a highway and i let off of the accelerator, 5th gear pops out by itself. it doesnt happen all of the time, but it just seems as once the rpms drop, it comes out. any ideas why?

recently i noticed, whenever i fill my tank up with petrol i seemed to have a leak. it would only leak for a tid bit then stop after a certain amount leaked out. i come to find the leak was coming from somewhere on the top of the petrol tank, so i pulled my rear cushion out and checked the pump seal. apparently it has begun to leak from the seal somehow. i had recently switched my pump and of course not having the ridiculous special tool. i used a hammer and a large flat tip driver to remove the retaining nut. is there anyway this nut, may have come loose due to not having the proper tool? or is it that i had a used seal that i placed back in it? what are my options to fix this? or am i screwed and have to buy a new fuel pump that comes with the new seal and or nut? also does anybody know of a place where i can buy the special tool to remove the retaining nut? i don't want to mess the nut up any more than it already is.

What would be the best mods recommended to track prep an 02 eclipse gt?

I'm trying to find everybody in this forum who has a 3G Eclipse GS or RS. If you have a GS or RS, please post any mods you have done and/or any problems you have had. If everybody posts, maybe we could all benefit by seeing what works and doesn't with our cars. I own a 2004 Eclipse GS with an Automatic Transmission. I have installed a cold air intake and a HEADER onto my car. I started getting a Service Engine Soon Light and throwing a P0421 code after I installed my header. Also, I bought a cheap cold air intake off of Ebay and it did not fit exactly into my car so I am currently in the process of customizing it to make it fit. If anyone has had the same problems or something different happen with their GS or RS please post it up here. Thanks for taking time to read this post.

i looked around forever for a related post, but couldnt find one, so apologies ahead of time if there's a similar post. anyway, i removed my radio (its the stock infinity radio) by unscrewing it from the front and unplugging it. when i plugged it all back in, it seemed fine. it lets me play any CD i want. the only problem is, the buttons (including the radio control buttons on my steering wheel) dont work at all! the only buttons it responds to is eject, power on/off, and volume control. the radio only comes on when i eject a cd. i have no clue how to insert "codes", if that's even the issue here. id greatly appreciate some help, its no fun when i cant skip around the cd, or adjust the radio stations. thanks in advance!

Is anybody aware of any plugin that locates the jar in which a particular class resides? On of the majort problem a programmer finds while development is to know which jar a class is coming from.

i have an 03 gts and it runs fine till i hit about 4500rpms then i hear a noise like a bov but i dont have one. at that same time i feel a dramatic decrease in hp and tq, and it seems to eat more gas. i havent got it fixed cause i dont trust the mech around me and frankly its caused me to go easier on the pedal getting better milage. its been running fine for 6 months except for that. ni was told by a friend that it was probably a vacuum leak but it sounds like air is being pushed out not sucked in. can any one help me.

$1,400.00. This is the price for a new compressor install on our 2002 3.0L The dealer's technician has not adequately explained to my satisfaction what is going on.

I have had this problem for two years, and just toughed out the summer months.
I have had an evacuation and recharge of my refrigerant and that has not solved the issue as the guy at the neighborhood garage said.

* My air conditioning works well when temperature outside is less than 80 degrees.

* However, when summer hits and the car is not traveling on the highway, for example, I leave home driving in the city, stops, traffic, hot intersections, the air conditioner will run for a few minutes, never long enough, and quits. solid blue light turns to flashing amber and the air that blows is stale smelling and warmer than the air outside of the car. Once the air is out, it will not re-engage until the car engine has been off (cools down) for a while.

Should i wait to turn on the A/C until I get to the interstate and I am moving well, the A/C may not shut off, but I am only able to run it a lower settings 1/4 or 2/4, but never on any instance on high.


I want to believe this is an electrical issue, perhaps with the A/C relay, but I am hard pressed to replace a compressor that works under other conditions. Otherwise, I may be back where i was the the A/C recharge: out good money and no fix..... Does anyone have any experience with this type of issue or are there any details I could provide to give a clearer picture?

Other than this, I have to take care of 2 bad Oxygen Sensors to get the engine light off. Regardless of the above, this has been the best car I have ever owned and I want to keep it as long as possible.

I was thinking about installing some new performance injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pump on my 2004 Eclipse GS. Does anybody know what all is involved with replacing stock injectors with performance injector? Do I have to rewire anything? Is there any chance that I will throw a code?

I have a 2001 Eclipse GT and have been having a problem with the high beam Headlights and front marker lights flashing for no reason. When I first bought the car the Highbeam relay was missing and I installed a new one and this is when that problem began. If you notice them flashing you can hit the remote door lock button and it will quit for awhile. Sometimes it starts back up within the hour and sometimes it goes for days without doing it. Is there a motion sensor anywhere that can be causing this or is this a grounding issue in the door locks somewhere? Thanks for any help.

Unfortunatly my car was involved in a hit and run. The driver side mirror was knocked off. I figured it wouldn't be to big of a problem but it seems I have been wrong.

I went to a mitsu dealer, they wanted $300 for the mirror (power non-heated). I decided to get a replacement oem. I paid $150 for the mirror.

I took off the motor and the remains of the mirror and when I was ready to connect the new mirror I got I realized that the pigtail's are totally different.

The pigtail I have coming out of the car is a male pigtale with 4 cables (red, yellow, blue, white) and is square in shape with rounded corners.

The pigtail on the mirror I have has only 3 cables (yellow, blue, white) and looks almost like an L in shape from the side view.

I figured that I must have got the wrong part so I went back to the part shop and we called the distributor here in Canada. Turns out all of the mirrors they had (power and electric) were of this pig tail and were 3/5 cables respectivly.

I looked at the wire drawings on the forum here, and saw 3 cables on the mirror. Does everyone have the same configuration of only three cables? I bought my car used, but I wouldn't imagine anyone changing the electrics of the mirror.

I might be forced to find the pigtail for the ending I have and try hooking up the cables by joining two into one. Does anyone have any better ideas or ran into this before?

im in iraq right now and will be back in a couple of months. i plan on comming home to a pile of parts to put on my 2003 eclipse gts v6. but i dont know what to get. i have a garage with all the tools i need at $4 an hour provided by the marine corps. so i would like to do most myself if it involves a wrench. electrical ill leave to profesionals. all ive done so far is new tires and rims "cause stock was leaking" and vortek generator. other then that its stock.

I usually check out the featured rides section in my spare time and yesterday I saw something that caught my eye. There was a 3G Eclipse with a custum ram air kit installed that had a scoop inside of the grill. Does anybody have any idea what parts would be needed to make a ram air kit? Would I need a new intake manifold or any other modifications to make this work? Thanks for any help you can give.

ok i have had my 03 GTS for about a month.. and i think its time fer some racing.. but i realy dont want to fry my AUTO trans.. if i do a few races a week will this realy hurt my tranny(i know it cant be good for it). shes only got 48k, but shes gotta last at least 6 more years!!. i know im a puss when it comes to "abusing" my eclipse .. please give me advice!

also my friend has a 6th gen Grand Prix (like a 1999).. with the 2nd gen. 3800 (like 195hp..225 torque).. i think it will be good race..im pretty shure he'll beat me off the line.. also his car is limited to 106..

i have read in some magazines that these pulse star plugs actually do give a little hp gain. "not the advertisement either" so i was wondering if they r worth the buy. any imput would be great cause i know a little about cars and my friend knows less and he is going to buy them.

I cant find the info i needed in a previous thread so im asking out right. Once again i have a 2001 stratus r/t with the 6g72. There is one turbo kit available and it is too much money. So i would like to make my own. Only problem is i dont know what parts i need. I heard people talking about 3gkt or somthing and i have no idea what that is. I know the turbo and all that stuff i just need the old parts for the new turbo. Please help. If possible please tell me what the part is and where to find it.

I drive a 3g with the 6g72 and am looking for a new exhaust and intake combo. I've been looking around but I just can't make up my mind. I like a deep kinda throaty sound for the exhaust. I also want some power. I know it won't get me a lot but even just a little will be nice. Same for the intake. I'm not necessarily looking for sound, but power. Would a CAI or a SRI be better. (Keep in mind I live in Chicago where the weather could change in 3 seconds). Any help or recommendations would be great. Many thanks in advance!

I know alot of you will see the stratus and think "omg a dodge guy in our forums" but that couldnt be further from the truth. The 2001-05 Stratus R/t are basicly Eclipses with different bodys. Same motor and every thing. So my question to you is where can i find a cheaper turbo kit or is it possible to use any turbo, because in reality they all do the same thing. Hook up to exhaust and then pump air into the engine. I know that would take alot of fabrication but just trying to explore some options here.

I know not to get a fiberglass one because you have to shape them at a shop. and urethane losses its shape after awhile. so is duraflex any good? and just to sneak this question right quick since I'm posting is there any eyelids for a 03 eclipse or do i have to custom make them?
