Like so many others my European 2001 GDI (4G93 Engine) went bad in the idle, erratic/uneven when cold until engine was like that even when warm and then loosed all power. Yada, yada, yada.
So I went to Google and spent quite some time coming up with possible solutions, almost all says "clean throttle body".

Hi all,
Does anyone know if this model/engine will be ok to run biodiesel?
Other than replacing the fuel filters more regularly and after the first 100 miles or so, are there any other parts that will need replacing routinely?
Any help is appreciated,
Cheers

Hi, My Mit Carisma (Equippe, GDI, 1834cc, 2001, Auto) was running fine until last Sunday when this problem cropped up. I was trying to reverse the car over a pot-hole and suddenly the throttle response went off and the engine went to high revs. The diagnostic icon in the dash started flashing. The RAC man hooked it up to his computer but couldn't identify a fault code. He wrote in his report...

We need to replace the power steering pump for our 1.9L diesel Carisma model 1997.
The original one is difficult to obtain here in Sweden, and quite expensive.
I wonder if there is somebody on the forum with the experience on whether the pump for some other car/model is the same as this one and can be replaced instead.
In particular, I have in mind the Renaul...

Any idea how to recalibrate this/unlock the display without paying the dealer?

I recently bought a 2001 Carisma 1.8 GDI which had the throttle body repaired back at the end of May this year. However, the rev's were high and it was idling at around 1400 and when changing gear the rev's would go up to around 2500 and the engine was revving 'like I had put my foot on the accelerator when changing gear'.
So, my step dad had a look at it and said just...
