I drive a 53 plate Carisma DID. I'm looking to put some black 17"x7" Konig Theory alloys on, I've been looking at various lowering springs available and they seem to range from 50mm - 20mm.

I was looking at GMAX springs with a 40mm drop, does anyone think that i'll have problems with this setup?

My Carisma 1.8GDI Auto was running OK, but two weeks ago the amber 'engine management 'light came on and stayed on. The car carried on running OK despite the warning light being on.

A colleague suggested disconnecting the battery terminal to 'reboot' the engine management system, as a means of switching the warning light off. I did this and then reconnected the battery....

Last week I bought Carisma 1.8 GDI
In user manual there's something about GDI-ECO light showing best fuel-economy driving. It never worked in my car. Also there's small problem with idling - sometimes rpms are going almost to 0. Usually engine recovers to normal rpm (~600), but sometimes not.
Anyone got similar problems? What should I check? How bad does it look?

I have a 2001 Carisma 1.8 GDI, the problem that I have is that it appears to be hitting the Rev limiter early at 4000 Rpm, this tends to happen when the car has been started while warm and is fine when started for cold.
Mitsubishi tell me that the Throttle Body is at fault but I suspect the ECU, does any one have any experience of this problem?

The engine indicator lamp on my P reg Carisma came on this morning after I had been driving for about 2 minutes. I pulled over and switched off and consulted the handbook to see what the orange lamp indicated. It said "if it illuminates while the engine is running, there is a problem in the emission control system. Contact your nearest authorized Mitsubishi dealer".

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Carisma Comfort A/T and I want to put a line-in jack to my original Mitsubishi radio/casette player (9108) for listening music from mp3 player. Is there anyone who has a schema of this device ? I'm thinking to plug an adaptor in to the CD-Changer jack and put the cable inside radio/casette player from a hole. After that I'll drill the face of the device...

Has anyone here tried either FuelCat or EcoTek valves with their Carisma GDI (the direct injection model)?

A quick scan of the internet tells me the FuelCat is a catalytic device which makes fuel burn better, giving more power and hence better efficiency.



And the EcoTek thing physically agitates the fuel to give the same effect. Good site on that at ..

hi there anyone know how the ball joints are replaced,i got a knocking noise from the suspension not sure what it is either ball joints or the struts any help people?also while idling the revs dip up and own from say 900 down to 500 and stay there,from cold starts the motor revs to 2500rpm until it has warm up bit excessive i think any ideas

my carisma splutery misfire when at low revs. Its alright when u r doin 50 or60 mph. but when like ur going round a corner in 2nd gear its popping splutering then go normal its like u have slected 3rd not 2nd.

I just got a Mistsubishi Carisma and if I leave the lights on and turn off the car, or open the door, there's no warning beep or anything. Does yours? I'm guessing there's something wrong with the buzzer if there is one, anyone know how to fix it?

I've just blown my gearbox for my 1996 Carisma.

Another box has arrived and I'm still to purchase two drive shafts.

Does anyone know where I can find instructions and advise on how to replace the box?
And also, I'm I going to need to get anything else i.e. thrust bearing?
