If you have a yellow light on and the car is using 20% more fuel AND is over 40k miles OR you haven't had a new oxygen sensor for 40k miles then the probable cause is the sensor as they only last 40k miles approx, once the sensor dies the cars brain runs of default settings - hence the 20% more fuel use.

Hi,
Last week I bought a 2004 Carisma DI-D.
I noticed that it takes ages (well, 10-15 minutes) for the engine to get to proper temperature (needle in the vertical position). Check the thermostat - it opens in boiling water.
The other question - poor economy. Computer shows 38-45mpg and I'm having an impression (not quite sure though) that economy improves a lot when the...

Hello all,
Running a 1.8 GDi Equippe, petrol auto. Yesterday, the computer display packed in, along with the illumination of the (factory) radio/cassette.
The radio still works OK but the display is blank. I'm thinking (hopefully) a fuse but the book only refers to a one for 'gauges'...and I can't find out how to get into the dash fusebox.
Any...

Hi. default/' '' />
Getting condensation on inside of headlight and isn't going away.
Is this a known fault(2004 carisma new shape)?
It's out of warranty but if Mitsubishi know about it can I get the dealer to repair it?
Any advice?
Thanks.

Ok so i posted the other day about my 2001 Mitsubishi carisma gdi equippe rev-ing up to much. What we did was took the throttle body of and adjusted the sensor and it has definly worked. The car is sounding good but there is another problem.
The revs are down to where they need to be but the engine light keeps flashing and there is no power on the accelerator. We believe it to be a...

Hi, I am new to this site. I have a mitsubishi Carisma 1.6 (2000). The problem I have is that I cannot select reverse gear. 1st Gear is now where reverse gear used to be and 2nd gear is straight down from that.
It feels as though the settings in the gear box have just moved over to the left. Someone I know with mechanical knowledge has had a look at the linkage for me and cannot...

Can anyone help please. Have a Y reg carisma gdi that wont go. It fires and runs for a short while, but misses and pops when it does, and then cuts out. Seems to be fuel related as have good spark, but have changed the fuel pump and airflow meter, but these have made no difference. Have also checked timing which is correct. No engine light on. Running out of ideas, any suggestions would be...

Purchased Plasma Dials for a Carisma off Ebay. They came from Poland with Kilometers only. I purchased some white 3mm numbers and letters from a model shop and put MPH in 20MPH INCREMENTS. Not to hard to fit, the the numbers for the MPH on the speedo face took the longest so it looked as professional as possible. In all took about 2-3 hours. The plasma dials slip over the original dials no...

HAs anyone got any pictures of a 98 carisma 1.6 engine bay, without the engine in it and/or any technical documentation of an empty engine bay.
I have downloaded the engine part of the service manual from the forum but it does not contain what i need.
