The following color code list is primarily for United States Domestic Market models. The list was compiled from USDM model Lancer Evolution's, Lancer's, and Mirage's. Many export models used the same color codes as USDM models. If you are checking the color code of a export model, be sure to check the color code on the firewall plate for cross referencing. This list ranges from years 1984 - 2008.
***Note: When selecting a paint color, never go by paint color name. Always go by the paint color code. If you go by paint name. You could end up with the wrong color.

Mitsubishi Evolution VIII

The latest Lancer Evolution was developed on the Lancer sedan chassis that was first introduced to the
U.S. market in the fall of 2001. Every Lancer Evolution unibody begins life on the same assembly line as
the base Lancer economy sedans. The Lancer chassis has served as the basis of the Lancer Evolution family of
vehicles since 1992; its chassis and four-wheel independent suspension readily accepting the modifications that helped
this vehicle achieve supercar status. The modifications implemented on the previous versions of the Lancer
Evolution sedan represent the lessons learned by Mitsubishi through competition on the World Rally circuit.
For the urban driver who will never see organized competition, the Lancer Evolution represents
a capable, highly maneuverable, distinct, cutting-edge interpretation of the modern sports car, and it
challenges the supposed performance boundaries of compact sedans.

2005 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII

For 2005 the Lancer Evolution continues to push the envelope in all aspects of performance:
acceleration, cornering and braking. The 2005 Lancer Evolution VIII MR edition boasts improvements including
a larger turbo for improved horsepower, six-speed close-ratio manual transmission, BBS one-piece forged alloy wheels,
fast-response Bilstein® shocks, and an aluminum roof for a lower center of gravity. The all-wheel drive system
has evolved to include front helical limited slip differential and Electronic Active Center Differential (E-ACD),
which combine to create an unprecedented level of handling capability.

2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX

The Lancer Evolution IX is available in stock trim, as well as RS and MR editions. Owners can further customize
their vehicles to meet individual tastes through a comprehensive range of factory- and dealer-installed
options. Accessories also are available for those who want to customize their vehicle even more to

I'm in the market to buy my first Evo. Upgrading from a 08' Lancer ES. At my local dealership, the Evos have to be ordered from a main location of Mitsubishi. I know Evos are limited production, but does this sound about right? If so, does this limit my options for how I want my Evo equipped and what colors are available? Also, buying from the dealership, did any of you current or previous Evo owners get any discounts from MSRP? It would be nice to pay less than what's suggested.

Behold the future of the Mitsubishi EVO. April Fools!
Looking surprisingly cool, the folks at Mitsubishi Canada have perhaps the best April Fools prank of the day, posting a creatively photoshopped version of the i-MiEV electric car, inspired by the brand's Evo sports sedan, on its Facebook page.
Claiming to be the 2015 i-MiEVO concept, the car is powered by an electric motor with 350-hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Weighing under 2,500 lbs the car would be a rocketship – if it was real. Oh, and let's not forget the obligatory Super All-Wheel Control AWD system.

The Mitsubishi Evo might be slated for the history books, but a few folks out there intend to send it off with a bang.
The team at GMG is currently prepping an Evo for the SCCA World Challenge Series, where it will compete in the new(ish) GTS class.
Just a few years ago World Challenge only had two levels of racing and as such the Evo was pegged into the top-tier GT category with cars like the Viper, making it unattractive to potential racing teams. Now, however, with the new GTS level, the Evo might just be the perfect balance of performance and grip to take on the Mustangs, Camaros, BMWs and Acuras of that class.
Registered under GMG, reports suggest the car will actually run under the Swisher Racing name, with GMG pilot and series veteran James Sofronas sticking to his Porsche in the GT class.
It's not yet clear if the car will make its debut at the start of the series, March 15th in St. Petersburg
Considering the sad news around the demise of the Evo, it goes without saying that this is not a factory-backed effort.

According to an interview with Mitsu global product director, he hinted at the fact that Mitsubishi will be focusing on green vehicles a discontinuing a number of their current range.
I am pretty sure if Mitsubishi stops making the EVO you can kiss the company goodbye.

Hi, to all of you. I have a 2008 Evolution with 2.0L Turbo engine and manual tranny. When I hit the accelerator pedal to the floor, when changing lanes and going fast, when shifting gears, I notice a clutch slipping for 2-3 seconds because engine revs high like if it doesn't engage. After those second it engages. On normal driving it doesn't do that. What does this means that clutch is beginning to fail? Does it has any adjustment, slave failing, what might be wrong? What clutch do you recommend me for occassional street racing? Thanks for your comments.

Well done Mitsubishi, for a change that a Japanease manufacturer made a fun car to drive well build you are stopping the production of both the best 2 cars you were making (a.k.a. Lancer + Eclipse) to go greener....
guy that own Evo X keep it! it will be a collection car in couple year...
Look at this article:
EVO X is the last EVOI can understand that going greener is the future but why you don`t keep the Evo and the Eclipse. They should have done something to bring the eclipse where it was 2 generations ago... Not well done Mitsubishi...

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering, what is the genuine evolution 5 speed gear knob look like, I've never seen one, and I was thinking of having that little feature for my lancer.
(I didn't know whether to put this in the lancer forums or the evolution, Because it's about a evolution, But for my lancer.)
Anyways if anyone could show me a picture or a place where to even buy it would be great.
I've been looking at a one on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-MITSUB...sQ5fAccessoriesBut Once again I'm not sure if that's the genuine gear knob.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Can some one with an EVO8 on the original Enkei's do me a favor and give me the dimensions of the decal on the face of the rim. I am trying to reproduce these for a set of wheels I am refinishing.

Please try and be as exact as possible and also include the gap between the logo and the E.
I really appreciate the help... I've got a shop that will turn these around quick but I need the size before I head over there.

Mitsubishi has just released some exciting video of its new EVO X SE (Special Edition) model, that combines many of the great MR trim equipment with the more affordable price of the GSR model.
The SE model, like all EVOs, is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and comes equipped with the MR's advanced Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission. Also included are the MR's two-piece Brembo brake rotors, Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs, not to mention a rear lip spoiler. Inside there are heated cloth Recaro seats.
Official pricing has yet to be released, but the EVO SE is tipped to start at just under $36,000, which is about $2,000 more than the five-speed manual GSR and about $3,000 less than the current MR model.

Hale, UK Police seized this yellow Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII after its driver was stopped for "driving erratically" and arrested for DUI. Normal police procedure, in the UK requires the officers wait for a transporter to tow a seized car to impound, but not this time. The two officers decided to drive the car themselves, and, well, the photos show what happened next.
The officer behind the wheel lost control at what appears to be very high speed, and ended up rolling the car on a local man's lawn. One of the officers suffered minor injuries, and clearly their superiors will be launching an investigation into their behavior. Evo carnage gallery at the link below.

Lately it seems like the only news coming out of Mitsubishi is related to tiny electric cars, so we're extra excited to report the addition of a new model in the Japanese automaker's lineup that will have car guys rejoicing. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution SE will debut later this year as somewhat of a cross-breed between the TC-SST transmission-equipped MR model and the more entry-level GSR. In essence it will be a GSR model, but with the dual-clutch transmission as well as the MR's Bilstein shocks and rear diffuser. Also included will be the GSR's cloth Recaro seats.
And now for the best part: the price. Official numbers haven't been release yet, but the SE model is tipped to start at just under $36,000, which is about $2,000 more than the five-speed manual GSR and about $3,000 less than the current MR model.
Our Evo has arrived!

Password JDM first established themselves as one of the premiere importers of rare and fine JDM goods. This author remembers when he had to trek over there to pick up a JDM Integra front end for one of our own project cars (back in the Modified Mag days). Their shop was filled with front clips, engines, fenders, hoods, bumpers, brakes, motors, etc. It was like a JDM fanatic's dream come true. But recently Password JDM has expanded not only the lines they carry, but have made some products of their own. Most notable of these lines are their dry carbon/kevlar composite components. From aerodynamics to body panels to engine accessories, Password JDM has it covered for carbon.
Newest to their catalog is a fantastic line of Mitsubishi Evolution X carbon engine panels. Virtually everything that's in sight has been replaced with lightweight, fashionable carbon fiber and it makes for some sickening eye candy. You can clearly see the high quality in the carbon fiber utilized in Password JDM's products and the airbox and intake combination is just to die for.
So if you want some good 'ol high quality carbon fiber that's done right, make sure to check out what Password JDM has for you. We've personally never had anything but good experiences with them, so we can only imagine how nice their carbon fiber is under the hood.

New to these boards, so apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere. I've looked and haven't seen this topic thread or seen it addressed elsewhere. So again, I apologize if this info is found elsewhere. I'm seriously considering buying an Evo X as a weekend car (probably no more than 7,000-8,000 miles a year, no "racing", although I do have a habit of engaging in "spirited driving" but nothing too crazy) and am trying to get a sense of what my maintenance and operating costs will be. I ask because I seem to see all kinds of differing figures and opinions on this. Everything from "Oh, your service interval will be every 5,000 miles and that's it" to figures that predict some amazing upkeep numbers that make some people's mortgages look tame. The problem is that nobody seems to do anything to explain what is the basis for their figures. Hence, it's hard for me to figure out whether their figures would really apply to me. Any insight folks can offer is very, very welcome.

Hard on the brakes I heel-toe and double down in the gears, executing Infineon Raceway's important Turn 11; a tight late-apex right-hander I had practiced repeatedly just an hour before. My EVO X GSR pushes hard toward the outside wall as I grab third and then fourth, changing over to the other wall at Turn 12 and blasting down the front straight, pushing above the 100 mph mark and heading straight into Turn 1. The track rises up before me like more of an asphalt wall than a hill, gravity working with the EVO's impressive AWD setup to keep the car balanced as I spy the apex of turn two and hammer the brakes.
Impressive? Yes! And I've only just described the front straight.
I'm at the Jim Russell Racing Driver's School Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Experience, a program the Japanese automaker hopes will not only allow enthusiasts and average Joes alike to experience just how capable and fun the latest EVO is, but to spread the word that despite its perception as a less hard-core machine than previous iterations, the X is the best EVO yet.
And they couldn't have chosen a better pairing than with Jim Russell, who's chief instructor, Paul Gerrard, is a veteran of racing past EVO models overseas and currently pilots the AMS-tuned EVO X in the Redline Time Attack series, where he took the Unlimited AWD Class Championship last year.

Finally tuned and dynoed our Evo X after the SEMA show. Thanks to Injen for their intake kit and Magnaflow for the exhaust. The car has a bit more pep now.

Gained another 13hp/19ft-lbs over just having the CMD and tuning. Same 26psi boost level. Comes on sooner and harder off the bottom too!

Also, just to clarify, the graphs shown are:
Green - All stock 08 Evo X
Red - Same with CMD installed
Blue - Same with CMD, Injen intake and Magnaflow cat back exhaust.
