I am considering replacing my Montero trim on my drivers door. The edge is catching on the front fender and has cracked. Has anyone else had this problem, and did they replace the trim? I am watching a part on ebay that I think will work, but I wonder if anyone knows if the part will work on my car.The link is below.

Help! I have 62,000 miles on my 2002 Montero Sport (I used to drive a lot for work but have not for more than a year now). And I've heard I'm supposed to replace my timing belt at 60,000 miles. Is this true? I do not have the $ to do this and the rest of the 60,000 mi service - which is more important?
Thanks!!

HI Guys
I've been all over searching but cannot find a downloadable manual for Shogun SWB V6 3L 1993. I am trying to find a description of the meaning of the dash warning lights (i.e brake pad worn, steering fluid pressure low etc). Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?
Best regards
Zoltan

Hi All,
I have recently bought a 1995 Misubishi Pajero (Sept) 3.5ltr GLS. In the petrol cap it says "Premium Unleaded fuel Only" but the operator manual says normal unleaded can be used just performance is reduced. Are the any side effects in using normal unleaded i.e. is the engine going to blow up or should I shell out the extra cents and use premium.
Any advice greatly Appreciated.

I recently traveled from adelaide to sydney via canberra and back. 3 days after arriving home i noticed coolant dripping from under the transmission. At first I thought rear frost plugs {welsh plugs} On further investigation I found coolant flowing down the back of the engine. To cut a long story short the actual leak was a blown gasket between the water pump and the engine block. To fix it unfortunately everything down to the timing belt has to be removed, as well as plenam chamber and inlet manifold. you may be able to change "O" ring on heater pipe and not have to remove inlet manifold

[attachmentid=290][attachmentid=290]1995 Montero SR, 3.0 Auto 4x4
What is the normal idle rpm and what should the oil pressure reading be at idle?
I also sometime have a rough idle with some valve noise that is just below the normal idel rpms....no apparent reason and doesnt do it all of the time? Could this be an oxygen sensor or mass air sensor...etc..?
I,m new to these engines and my pressure looks to be low at idle but is fine when cold started and at higher rpms while driving.
thanks for any insight..........Ed

Hey, anyone ever seen a supercharged V6 Pajero. The V6 feels abit tired now, just had a service and been thinking about supercharging the motor. The local dealer seems keen too.

I have 02 montero sport limited and i know that at one point (even recently) the seat belt indicator came on whenever the seat belt was not secured because that is what caused me to start wearing my seatbelt. It stopped coming on when seat belt is not buckeled, so I took it to the dealership who basically told me I am wrong -- that it is not setup to function that way. It does come on and blink when the car is started, but when you undo your seatbelt, it doesnt.
I called mitsubishi who told me to contact other dealerships and ask.. I did and was advised that I am correct, the seatbelt light should be coming on. After arguing with dealership about it, I called Mitsubishi again yesterday who tells me to speak with the Service Manager and GM.... well I had already done that, no success.
Dealership telling me that they have checked all the electrical and it is fine.
So here is what I'm wondering, I have read that other less expensive vehicles have a way to disable the seat belt indicator light through using a special combination.... I'm wondering if that could be the case with my truck, and if so how to reset? I'm thinking of unplugging the battery for 15 or so minutes to see if that resets it. Any ideas?

hi new bird on board
Have a question for you re: 94 Pajero 2500cc diesel, soft top, like the look of it and keen to but, however very aware that sales people dont always have the answers so I look to the enthusiasts for help.
Am keen to purchase this vehicle but would apprecitate comments both good and bad before I decide, its on a dealers lot and has 1 owner since New Zealand New, Japanese import I expect. Has only 70,000kms which I thought rather suspect but who knows, anyone able to give me a few suggestions, what to look out for etc. I do intend to go into the bush etc, will it be rugged enough, it looks as though it should. Any comments would be appreciated thanks.

Dear All
Well first things first a big hello to you all and i hope you all have a very happy and worthwhile New Year.
Sorry but i wonder if anybody can help me and i presume this topic has been done to death but i have a problem with my MMcs stereo.
Basically the battery went flat and i have been told that i need a setup CD to reactivate it.
The screen comes on with some Japanese writing and in the middle it says CD for which i presume it is asking for.
Without this working i not only have no functional radio apart from Radio 2 but i have also lost the heater control view the compass etc and the rear view camera.
Can anybodle please help in locating a set of these CDs i will meet all costs incurred.
Thank you all in advance for your help
kind regards
Martin

I'm hoping somebody can tell recomend a good winch for my Shogun, I have not owned it long but really like it and plan to do off road stuff. I have looked on the net but only come up with one firm PWS who seem to even have a picture of a Shogun with a winch, probably because its all plastic in front (maybe).

Hi everybody.
I just bought a Pajero IO (Shogun Pinin) 1.8 GDI Autom, year 2000. Unfortunately, I do not understant the feature of OD (overdrive) ON or OFF, what is the difference?
Also, is this car with SS4-i, so 4WD? What happens when GDI Eco led goes off, this means that the car is on 4WD ???
looking forward for your reply.

Unfortunately I have a couple of problems going on:
1) Audible warning will not go off. It comes on for driver door opening as well as when key is put in the ON position. Mechanic checked ALLDATA layouts and nothing to be found on it. It's acting like the lights are left on but they are not.
Is there a relay to check? If so, where?
2) Radio for FM goes in and out of signal and volume pops randomly. AM stations and CD have no problems.
Curious.

So as I was trying to get to work today, my Oil Pressure Gauge went all the way to the right and stayed there, only to come down after i had the truck off for a minute. I called my mechanic, and he said that the gauge was either shot, or the oil pressure release valve was stuck, either way, try not to drive it unless you have to. Okay, so, Im taking the day off, thats not a bad thing
Does anyone know where the location of that valve is? I can find it on my Saab, but not on my truck. I really dont want to blow off the oil filter or do something even worse to the engine, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all
~Buzz

Hi,
Can anyone please tell me a little info about the 1999 challenger, it is a 5 speed auto, with tiptronic, and does not have the high / low stick. Is this full time in a single mode, or does it change, if so how?
There is a green light that appears on the dash "GDI Eco" what does this mean, as it comes and goes.
Thanks
Brad

Hi All,
I've got a 2001 Montero Sport XS. When I shift it into 4wd, the 4wd
indicator light doesn't go on. I'm assuming it's just the light and not
a transfer case problem. Is there a switch for this that I can change without
calling the dealer?
Thanks,
George

Help, 3 L V6 Shogun 1992, having difficulties starting in the morning or if it has been left to long, this is a duel fuel conversion but I don't believe this has any bearing on it. The car will fire streight away and run for about 5 secs and then cut out, and will not restart, after turning the starter over and over for about 25 - 30 secs it will fire again and keep going. To me it sounds like the fuel is running back in to the tank when left for a long period, i.e overnight, and the car will fire using the fuel in the injector rails. Thankfully, if you get it right, you can flick the car streight over on to gas and therfore avoiding the issue, once this has been run for a few minutes all is fine again on petrol....
Is there a one way valve somewhere along the fuel line,, filter or even in the pump ???

I have just bought a Shogun Sport 3.0V6 Auto Dual Fuel which is great cos i'm paying only 32p per litre, but it seems a bit quirky when filling. sometimes I can get 60 - 70 litres in and others only 40-50 litres (when filling from empty). Does anyone know if this is normal or do I have a problem with the LPG tank?
