I'm looking for a good torque/hp curve for a GT. I found one on dragtimes.com but it is too wavy for me and what I want it for. I was hoping for a curve that is derived mathmatically vice dyno based curve. Anyone have any information?

I read a few people say that Armor All will dry a dash out due to the silicone in it. Is this true, and if so, what should I use?
Thanks!

I tried to find a Haynes/Chilton manual for the 4G but I guess it's gonna be awhile before they come out. So I went to the dealer and asked them if they sold the service manuals for them. I was then directed to
http://www.helminc.com/ They sell the FSM on a cd along with other goodies any home mechanic would like to read about.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has developed two new component systems that are expected to feature in the new Lancer Evolution, due to be launched this autumn.
S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) is an advanced vehicle dynamics control system that regulates drive torque at each wheel. Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission) is an automated manual transmission that delivers slicker shifting through the gears while freeing the driver from the need to operate the clutch.

Has anyone noticed that
Mitsubishiparts.com now has multiple iPod adapters including one which looks to be a stadard aux cable? of course for some reason they have no details whatsoever on any of their parts aside from a picture. Why must things be so difficult with getting a decent ipod adapter thats lets ya control thru the ipod on a mitsubishi, grrr

Road Race Engineering currently has a Underdrive Pulley Kit for the GS and claims that it can boost performance of 6-7whp and 9ft/lbs of torque for $119.00. They also have a Dyno graph showing stock vs kit and instructions installing the pulley kit. So I have two questions:
1) Do you think it's worth the time and $119?
2) Has anyone here purchased anything from roadraceengineering.com before and are they reputable?
Here is the link for the pulley kit:
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/4g/24underdrivepulley.htmThey have some other cool things to check out at:

I have looked up and down the web for a turbo kit to install on my new GT. Looks like nobody will have a kit out for another month or so (an affordable one that is.) So I was thinking about just installing a CIA along with a high flow air filter and getting a Magnaflow exaust. On top of that getting a module chip from jetchip.com. I was wondering if anyone here has used those before. Not sure if those are so called "resistor" chips that people sell on ebay. If they are the same thing then I'll avoid the chip. But if not it may be an easy way to get the GT's horsepower up near the 300 mark. What is everyone else's opinion?

Recently I got some halo projection lights from
auto city imports . here's a quick guide how to do it.
Tools Needed: Socket wrench, Phillips and Flat head drivers, electrical tape and a splicer for the wiring. Oh and maybe a flashlight, depends.
First you'll have to remove your bumper in order to install the headlights. Be sure you put all the screws and plastic tacks in a secure place. Once your done removing the bumper, remove the stocked headlights. Your headlight order will come with two halo projection headlights. 4-5 splice clips (useless) and a one page "manual" (useless). When u remove your new headlights you'll notice black and white wires. They not the wiring for your main headlight bulb only for the fancy ones (the two halo rings, two small led bulbs and the long narrow light next to the small led bulbs). First seperate the black(negative) wires from the white(positive) wires. These wires will connect to the wires coming from your blinker headlights (by the way put your stocked blinker bulbs in your new headlights). The color of the wires coming from the blinkers are 1 black and 2 greens. Splice the black one as much as needed and connect all of your black wires to it (splice as much as you need!).Then splice the middle wire from the blinkers (green) and connect the white wires to it (again splice as much as needed). Connect your plug for the main driving bulb and connect your plug for the blinker, mount the headlight (NOTE: DO NOT CONNECT ANY SCREWS UNTIL EVERYTHING WORKS RIGHT!!). Put the key in the ignition and turn your light switch on to see if the halo's and the other lights work (they should). Make sure all wires are tight knit. Then use electrical tape to tighten more. Put all excess wiring hangin' around in a safe area. Make sure sure your lights are working before putting the bumper back on. I would say check about 5X's. Shake the headlights and the wiring. Once you feel that everything's ok. Go ahead and put your car back together. Enjoy!!
These headlights will make your Eclipse 06+ unique. They're very sharp and are very bright and they fit perfect. I'll post some pics soon. Hopefully those of you wanting to install your headlights will find this info helpful. Thanks!

It appears that I have someone snooping through my car at night looking for goodies to take for themselves. I don't want to lock the doors because they just break the window. They aren't wanting to steal the car (obviously.) I was thinking about installing a small camera somewhere in the dash near the center and I don't know if there is enough room behind those 2 knockout panels to support a camera and a DVR. Another option is to put in a passive alarm on there to let me know when someone is getting into it, although I won't have a picture of them. Along with that alarm I was also thinking of getting one of those loud noise makers to scare the snot out of them after they open the door and stick their melon in the car. My main intention is to stop this one person from doing it first then arm the noise maker to deter them anymore if they still have the guts. What would you do?

Have any of you noticed whether or not the fan kicks on? When did it kick on? Was it hot outside? What did your tempature gauge show?
I only hear the fan kick on and off a thousand times when I'm using the air conditioning. But never at any other time do I hear it come on. I live in the Bay Area, California and it gets hot. I'm sure it has to kick on once in a while. The tempature gauge never rises above the normal spot, so I don't worry its over heating. I just found it weird that I've never noticed it any other time and had wondered if any of you hear it.

So i got a new 2007 Eclipse with the Rockford Fosgate system and i was told it would be no prob and they could install an iPod in it as this was key to me buying the car and every other car i looked at had standard aux. Well after 6 weeks or the runaround they finally got the part and installed it. it is instead the digital dock connection and cost me $300. The thing is absolute crap. Yes it sounds good, yes it connects my ipod but that's where the convenience ends. It totally disables the iPod screen and treats it like a CD player. Theres no way to navigate 60 gigs of music like that. Its so frustrating and hard to disconnect while driving.
So i started looking into head units. i'm currently looking at double din touch screen solutions such as the alpine IVA-W205 or the Clarion MAX 675VD. What i need to know is will this effect the sound of the sweet 650 watt Rockford Fosgate system that is in the car. I know little about car stereo stuff but im reading ya have to bypass the amp. Does this mean id lose my 650 watts i paid 2 grand for only to be stuck with what these units natively output? That would make it totally not worth it. I just need to find out b4 i go blowing money on one of these things that its gonna do what i want it to.

Hi Everyone,
I know this has been asked before, but I have yet to find an answer... Has anyone found a way to connect an iPod to the Rockford deck in the 2006 Eclipse?
The whole design of the center console screams to me: "an iPod goes here!" They have the power adapter, and a box area that's perfectly fit for an iPod. It's just missing the adapter. If anyone has any info, please let me know.
Thanks!

I own a 2007 Eclipse GS. Without having access to a service manual, can anyone tell me if it requires a 2 or 4 wheel alignment? (I'm aware most shops will tell you it requires 4, because they make more $ that way.)

Im not some young punk that sits around with his friends saying "My car can beat your car". Im 37 and my friend in question is 35 (and my car stereo installer). In fact I am slightly embarrased to describe this conversation.
I told him I was thinking of buying a 06 GT, and he said "Why buy that slow hog?" I said it "felt" faster that when I test drove a wrx (he owns a wrx). Anyway ... in typical highschool fasion our conversation boiled down to "My car can beat your car" (despite the fact I dont actually own the car yet).
My question is this...
Does the GT compare favorably to a wrx?
Like I said I test drove the GT and the wrx and the wrx just did not throw me into the seat like I would expect. The GT really felt like I was accelerating better. I was impressed by the quality of the wrx and the way it handeled, but the power just didnt impress me much.
Looking at the numbers...
the GT is 400 or 500 lbs (3500lbs or so) heavier but has 30 to 40 more HP(267).. that is a lot more HP.
The wrx (06) is 3100lbs with 226hp.

I took the Sub out of it's stock box to try my Boston Acoustic 10in Sub only to find out there wasn't enough room. I am aware that the dimensions might have not been right, but why not try it since it was just sitting in the box from my old eclipse. I noticed that there wasn't any fiberglass filling in the stock sub container. I thought that was odd since when I made my box, I totally put alot in there. So I took "the stuffing" out of my old box and filled her up, as much as I could get in there. END RESULT: I'd say a big difference. I will probably keep it like this as opposed to putting a big old box back there. I'm not saying that you heavy base pounders are going to be happy with this set up, but the average Joe might be satisfied. The other thing I noticed after careful observation, the noise in the left door that sounds like a blown speaker, in my case, was vibration of the window-door lock switch assembly which was easily fixed with vibration absorbtion material of your choice.
Question: Anyone have detailed info on putting a Cap on the stock AMPs. Like where and what color wires. Have the work of a new car is figuring out what everything is. Thanks

I have had my Mitsubishi Eclipse 2007 GT for about two weeks now, and so far I think it's a great car. The only thing I don't like is the huge turning radius this car has. It shouldn't have a turning radius as wide as it is for being a sports car. It's pretty terrible as far as that aspect goes. My dad's $200.00 ancient cavalier has a much better turning radius than my 07 Eclipse does.
Why can't they get that right? I noticed a lot of reviews list the turning radius as a Con for this car, old and new models.
Other than that, I love it. It can go fast, but don't expect to make any sharp U turns without having three lanes available. The car is pretty great for going in a straight line.

Got a 06 GS,
Have any of you played around with or switched the built in deck? I don't really have a problem with it but i just got a Zune the other day and trying to figure out how to hook it up to play on the road. Without and AUX input i was trying to think of an alternative, the most extreme would be changing decks but i was wondering if any of you have changed the deck?
I might just try to use an adapter but still kind of hazy on the whole process.
