Hi After playing around with my friend's 2001 Space Star the ciggarette lighter, stereo & lcd became dead which implys a blown fuse... I tried to look for that fuse but I couldnt find the whole fusebox under the dash. Please somebody let me know where is that fuse?
I have the 6 seated version and will not use the third row seats. They cannot be folded fully flat so I would like to take them out. Usually I am quite talented both mechanically and electronically but I cannot figure out how to do this. The seats can be folded horizontally and vertically and of course slide forward and backward. Somebody must have installed them - so there must also be away to remove them
i have this kind of accelerator with two sensor, are this sensor the 1st channel and second channel accelerator pedal position sensor?which could be the 1st and second channel in this picture? on the other gdi manual other model have 8 wires pedal position sensor attach to the gas pedal itself..

Hi Recently the car has moderate viberation issue on speeds between 80~120 km/h only... Sometimes it happen & sometimes not there is no certain conditions it just happen randomly... it doesnt matter if i let gas pedal off or step on brake, turns or strait road, good pavement or not, radiator fans on or off... It just happens randomly. I jacked the car up & wiggled all wheels they are rock solid, good tires & balanced wheels, wheels alignment is within specs, no grinding or obvious problem with wheel bearings, brakes work very good no grabbing or grinding... I tried other 4 wheels with tires but no luck. Anyway months ago I found front right outer tie rod end & front left inner tie rod have little play, I replaced bothe outer tie rod ends & left inner tie rod with quality new ones then workshop alingment. The only suspected culprit I think is motor & A/T mounts because as far as I remember the issue started after I unbolted these 4 mounts in order to get access to timing components & water pump...After I put everything back I noticed that when start the motor or put gear into D or R I hear & feel moderate clunk from car frontbbut I cant tell exactly the source, also I feel a little exessive viberation when idle though motor is smooth. The 4 mounts look good. Apart from this issue the car drives, steers & stops perfect! Can someone please confirm what I am thinking. If I am correct, how to cure this issue?
Hi folks I have a 2000 2.4 gdi soace wagon I have an aftermarket radio which I am fitting - however the lcd in the centre is now not working (and I think the fag lighter isn't working either as can't charge phone off it) Behind the radio there is a spare loom (two that fit the new harness and into the new radio) and one (white) one that plugged into the back of the old unit and I assume powered the lcd petrol usage thing Any ideas on how I can now provide that power to the lcd system - is there another harness that might help or can I hack the lead and link it to the existing harness (and of so what lead is which) Is there another alternative? Thanks
I brought a Space Wagon 2.4 GDI auto 2 weeks ago, tipical sold as seen part ex car. I fell in love with her the second I drove her on the test drive but having a few problems on long runs.
She's fine on my run to and from work which is 9 miles each way but I drove 90 miles last week and after an hour on the motorway she wouldn't supply enough power to overtake a lorry. Then when I pulled off onto an a road she wouldn't rev past 3k and seemed to search for gears. I had her checked and the garage noticed the gearbox oil was low, they changed it for me and I continued hassle free until I drove the same 90 mile trip to pick my family up from the in-laws and the same problem happened, I let her sit for an hour and continued the last 20 miles without hitch but she done it again on the way home. Always after she's been running an hour or so on the motorway. Todady I had a clicking sound happen from what seemed the passenger side front wheel and what I can only describe as abs playing up. Stopped the car pulled away and all was fine the rest of the way home.
Does anyone know what's causing this? Even with these hick ups I love the car and chuffed I'm back driving a Japanese car
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the MP8000 system I have installed in my 2007 Grandis? It seems very outdated now and I would like to upgrade it with an after-market product that is more modern. Problem is, I'm not sure what way this will interact with the on screen display and settings etc. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thank you!
Hello I have read lots of debates on internet about older engines( 4G64 engine) oil & compatibility issues... I would use synthetic long life oil rather than mineral oil so that I dont need to change oil more frequently but I am concerned about ruining engine gaskets. I need your opinions & experience please. Thanks in advance!
I am trying to work out how to purchase a secondary key for my Grandis 2007 2.0 DI-D. I can purchase the shell on Ebay for pretty cheap and then I guess it's a matter of getting the key cut exactly the same as my existing key however, I can't find anywhere that sells the innards, or the transmitter electronics, whatever they're called! I think I've found the correct instructions on how to program the key but I am not sure how this works with the existing alarm. I would prefer not to ask the dealer because no doubt it will cost a small fortune. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Really appreciate any help. Thank you!
Hi fellas Ok it is complicated... Since I had that Space wagon a year ago the motor oil pressure warning light is doing the same, Only when the motor is really warm (driving for 30 mins or so) Then the motor comes to idle (at 800RPM) the engine low oil pressure light will either flicker or come on... I opened motor oil addition cap & visually checked it seems there is good oil flow which suggests good oil pressure. I tried easy fixes like replacing oil pressure switch & cleaning its orifice & different good brands of oil filter ( Mahle, Mann, Blue print..) Tried also thicker oil checked for wire electrical short ... the same light behaviour! there was a minor oil leak & after eliminating the leak nothing changed. I drove over 8000 km like this & the motor is still smooth & till now I cant notice bad signs... Is this issue a problem or it can be neglected? What are the possible causes of this?
Hi all 2 weeks ago I changed the old oil & filter... Old oil came out with some sludge, before changing the oil I added a can of CRC oil flush product and idle for 25 mins, then filled the new filter with new oil and installed it and put drain bolt back.I added 5w30 fully synthetic long life oil, the total quantity including filter was 3.5 l of oil.Idle for 20 mins & after 24h checked oil level it was right at full mark. After 300 km checked it was the same level... after another 1000 km the oil level light in the dash came on intermittently, I stopped & checked the level it was a little below minimum level & I had to add 1 L of the same oil to restor it to full level which indicate that the engine lost 1L of oil in 1000 km. No smoke from tail pipe, opened oil add cap when idle no smoke puffs just air puffs, no oil in coolant & coolant level & temp &condition are perfect.No filter and drain bolt leaks, no oil spots under the car even after 4 days parking. Remaining oil looks pretty good no burn smell . This is really confusing I feel like a retard! What to check? Any clues?
Hi I was just performing routine check then took a look at timing cam sprockets alignment (see alignment notch in pic) it looks like one tooth before correct alingment... So is this sprocket considered aligned correctly giving that crankshaft pulley points exactly to 0 & # 1 piston is exactly at TDC is confirmed by screwdriver in plug hole method? By the way the other cam sprocket has the same (suspected bias) as the one in pic
Hello again I need to replace the Idler pulley but the problem is there is not sufficient reach to do so. From front of the motor the pulley is less than 1 cm close to engine bay walk & from backside of the pulley there is a several cm long 14 mm nut, I was able to unbolt that long nut a few turns but now the pulley bearing will turn preventing further unbolting & I cant hold it because there is no enough reach frontside. Does anyone go through this or know how to change that pulley?
Hi fellas! A week ago while driving my 2000 Space wagon I heard a continous squeal from rear passenger wheel, I kept driving & after 40 km I stopped & touched that wheel & brake assembly it was a little hot to the touch... After another 40 km the noise became grinding... after another 10 km I took a look at that wheel & found the outer brake pad was missing & the rotor was scored a little...Its time for brake job! I got 2 rear vented NK rotors (German, very good quality grey iron & 5 years guarnty) & a set of Japanparts rear pads ( very good quality & medium copper content & pad wear acoustic tabs) & a tube of CRC copper paste & of course basic tools. Today I tore down that rear passenger assembly & found the inner pad is almost worn... & the thing that holds the missing outer pad is a little grinded against the rotor & it is smooth. The hand brake shoes & mating rotor surface are in really nice condotion no glazing & no uneven wear & just to mention that handbrake operation was very good ( 4 lever notches it begins & at 8 notches it will hold the car still on a steep up hill...shoes lining remaining thikness is about 2.5 mm so I need an opinion : Replace or not ?? The caliper slide bolts, boots, piston dust boot & pads anti- rattle bushings look really nice so I plan just to clean, lube with copper paste & reuse all of them, opinion?? The only strange thing is that I couldnt push caliper piston back using my fingers, I tried to undo master cylinder reservoir cap & tap the piston VERY carefully with a hammer & a screwdriver thick-rubber handle but no luck... it wont budge! This is strange since piston boot is in a really good shape & just few days ago the outer pad fel off so the piston Must jump several millimeters when I stepped on brake pedal so there must be no piston surface corrosion at least within several mm next to caliper seal & it must be easy to push it back... I need an advice here Any opinions or suggestions are most welcome!
As far as I know about space wagon has 2 fuel pumps, in tank low pressure & in line high pressure. How to reach these pumps? Is there an opening in the floor of space wagon or I need to drop the tank first? What is the shape of high pressure pump? Where it is located?
Hi I am planning to replace rear brakes (rotors & pads only because the calipers looks really in a good shape), I do not have the kit for caliper rebuild but I have the Mitsubishi manual so I have 2 questions in my mind that I do not have answers for them although I went through a good internet search. 1) Should I put any kind of lubricant or grease on the back of pads to prevent the noise thingy? What kind of grease? 2) What kind of lubricant should I use to lubricate slide pinns & moving edges of pads since I read stories about pinns rubber bushings & boots got swollen & distroyed because of wrong type of grease ?
Grease tubes that a already have: 1) MoS2 Molybdumsulfide grease, Lithium based with Molybdum sulfide & EP additives for high temp -30 to +150 C & pressure & rust inhebitor. Color is black. 2) High temp grease up to 150 C.Very good for heavy duty & high temp applications.Color is brownish yellow. 3) Silicon grease high temp & prevent friction & to be used with rubber seals & plastic parts. reduces friction, lubricate & seals. withstands high temp. To be used with brake caliper seals, car door & window rubber seals. Color is transparent & it feels watery. So???
Hi 2 days ago I noticed that when I turn the steering wheel of my 2000 automatic space wagon to full or almost full left or right while parking the car I hear clunks but I cant identify nor define the source of the clunk... the clunking noise is louder when turn to max right... oils are very good and the car drives, turns and stops perfect... What/where/how to check? Thnx in advance

hello newie here and a female so please be kind Bought a 2003 grandis which I love but has the original stereo still with it the six cd changer etc Looks lovely but Im over trying to work it what it means in Japanese . has anyone here changed the stereo? Now bear with me Ill try and describe without confusing everybody as Im not sure how to explain it I know you can buy manuals but dont really want to do that as the sat nav would still be in Japanese. Im wanting to buy a new unit and pop it in, so is that possible as Ive heard that if you take it out will demobilise the car??? If its possible to put a later model stereo/nav unit in do I need to go to a authorised Mitsubishi place to get it done or can I get my husband who is a mechanic to do it?? I hope Im explaining myself properly any tips advice about it will be very much appreciated Thanks Ange
Hi I just want to adjust the handbrake because the first 6 notches of the lever wont resist & full pulled lever wont stop the car on steep road. So I followed the pdf manual but when I took the rear wheels off I found the adjuster rubber caps(rear disk brake) & after removing the caps I found nothing just a hole & no adjuster visible inside. I checked both rear wheels by hand turning both wii turn freely no grinding just used my both hands to turn them (one hand is a little hard to turn them) . Now I guess both rear wheels have automatic adjusters (correct?) & have no idea how to check/adjust those automatic adjusters of the handbrake. Please help
I bought a 2000 spacewagon 2.4 gdi last october. It has been running fine since except in the last two weeks the car has been losing power while driving and going into limp mode. Occasionally at idle the red oil can flickers slighty but goes off. It can happen after a long or short drive with no warning. The power will drop and the engine management light will come on ( if I try to accelerate light will go off but stays in limp mode). If I pull over and stop the car and turn everything off it will drive again for Another while then do the same again. DIAGNOSTICS didnt show up anything other than fuel system. Changed the fuel filter and now nothing coming up on diagnostic but still the same problem. Garage wants to change fuel pump and "see what happens" but with the age of the car im not wanting to keep throwing money at it.

Hi My 2000 Space Wagon driver door is sagging, hand-lift checked it has a little excessive hinges play. I think both upper & lower hinges bushings are worn & need replacement but I dont know the part number for the repair kit. Does anybody know the number? online parts store which has the kit maybe from UK (cheaper shipping)? Did anybody do this kind of repair before? hints & tips ?
Hi I have just received a pair of german made tailgate gas springs for 30 $ , they look almost 90% like the stock ones on the car, same length and diameter and ball joints but the problem is the new ones comes withot the ball bolts so I have to reuse the old ones... &I cant pull out the old springs I tried to pry out using flat screw driver but no luck. the new JOHNS brand ones come with retaining rings inside the female ball orifice so they can just be pressed on with finger & they also have retaining clips to secure after installing. The old springs dont seem to have retaining clips from outside & I dont have a clue on how to pull the old gas sprnigs withot using excessive force & making dents in the sorrounding car body. Has anyone gone throwgh similar job? Any advice or suggestion?

This one has a VCD player with screens and a CD changer under the driver's seat. It also has something like a handsfree installation. This looks like an RJ12 plug at the back of the foldable console between the two font seats.
Now I have two questions: Does anybody know if the VCD will play PAL or NTSC videos or both?
And can I connect any phone to theis RJ12 plug (loke iphone or Android or else)?
Hi there - I have just bought a Mistubishi Grandis 2004 from Japan. I have not received it, as it is en route to me via South Africa. However, I know the audio system, includes a MD and CD player as well as a radio. However I see from pictures that the screen is for the navigation system, which is in Japanese and will not work outside of Japan. Is it at all possible to find an English replacement and is that something I can pick up second hand? or logically thinking is it run by a software and maybe I could get at the settings and change the language to English?? It is a 2.4 Petrol model and the chassis number is NA4W-0022165 - I look forward to any possible help. Thank you!
Hi everyone! Recently my space wagon started to do this: Only on cold start, It will rev up to 2000 rpm for a minute or two then idles normally, besides I feel that the engine became a little bit weaker than before ( I am a sensitive driver) . I think it is an air leak, I have a bluetooth OBD 2 scanner, can I use it to confirm and diagnose the problem? what/how to check? Thanks in advance
I've been searching the web for a front crash impact sensor for my 09 2.0L diesel Grandis, but so far the only one I can find which matches the part number is from Mitsubishi, at £140. I'm hoping to find a used part for a lot less. The part number is 8651a 014. I have found a used one, 8651a 015. Can anyone tell me if it would fit? The seller says yes, but I want to check first.
Hi, I have a 1996 Chariot GLXi which has it's dashboard door open light and internal dome lights on all the time despite all doors being closed. This stops me using the alarm but I can use the remote to lock/unlock the doors if I put the alarm in Valet mode. I checked all 4 door switches and they all turn their respective door lights on and off as they should and the wiring looks sound. I found the tailgate switch was faulty so I fitted a new one (part of the lock mechanism). After doing all this, the fault disappeared and I was able to lock/unlock the car and Alarm it with the remote for a short while... then the fault came back again. I then replaced the ECU and that made no difference. I'm beginning to think the problem is either a problem with wiring or the alarm unit itself. I have not been able to find any information specific to the Chariot and would dearly love to get my hands on the electrical manual for the car or at least the schematic relating to the dome lights and alarm interface. So if anyone could suggest a place to find the wiring diagram or has any suggestion of what to try next I would be very grateful. Thanks Ray (New Zealand).
I have been trying to get an online and by-phone quotation for my 1999 Chariot Grandis Exceed GDi. It appears that the model is not on the list so insurer couldn't find my car. Can anyone who use the same model suggest how to get an insurance for it. Better if you can suggest the company that insure you car. Thanks
