Hi,
Like many before I have scoured the Net in search of the answers surrounding the MMCS disks.
And like others have seen post after post of people finding the disks, then failing to return to the forum to share the information on where to get hold of these little suckers.
Would anyone who has a Grandis, or indeed any Mitsubishi with a MMCS CD ROM please help the rest of us out. Its frustrating when you cant find answers. Where can we get the disks?
Thanks

We have just bought a 2001 Space Wagon 2.4 GDi Equippe a few days ago, seemed like the best mpv we could find for the money.
Yesterday my wife phoned and said it wouldn't start, but it started while she was on the phone to me, so she went to Cheshire Oaks with the kids, did her shopping etc. After shopping it started and she went to the petrol station, filled up, but then it wouldn't start.
Had to call out the recovery people and had it towed home. The mechanic said he thought it might be the immobiliser or a fuel problem, but didn't really know.
I fiddled around with it last night.
When the ignition is turned on there was a strange noise coming from the back of the passenger side of the engine bay, hard to describe really, either electronic or liquid like strange noise. Maybe the electrics aren't making the fuel pump work properly or something? When I turned the key further the engine just turned over without starting.
Anyway, after trying it a few times it cleared itself. The strange noise turned to the normal clicking you get as the (fuel pump)? primes and the engine then started. After that it started 4 times, no problems.
I tried it again this morning and it started fine. I was thinking maybe some dirt blocked the fuel pipe or something and had cleared itself.
My wife tried to go out just now and it wouldn't start again. It is making that strange noise again when the ignition is turned on, the engine turns over but won't fire.
The noise seems to be coming from some sort of pump? It has 4 metal pipes coming out of it (RF, LF, RR, LR) and has an electrical box on the back. It seems to be this part, but maybe there is another part near to it or connected to it which is the problem? Can anyone identify what this part is? And/or what is causing this problem?

Just got the 2009 car back from the dealer today after it was there for a week. If you bring the motor up to 1300-1500 RPMS theere is a rattling sound from the timing belt cover area. They replaced the tensioners with no avail. They had an Outlander their with the same motor and we brought it up to 1400 RPMs and it made the same sound. So the guys their are saying maybe its normal for the 2.4 motor. That is BS to me. I have read about sticking lifters, etc on these MIVEC motors. Anyone with any advice. This car has 6000kms and has rattled from day 1. Very frustrated. Embarassing in the morning as this is the idle speed that the car warms up at and god knows what will happen down the line. Maybe I'll call Mitsubishi as I am now at the mercy of the importer (waiting for their response). HELP. Thanks, Graham

Ok brand new newbie here-I have searched the forums but not found a problem exactly like mine so here goes...1998 2.4GDi spacewagon, 46000 miles when we bought it last July. From the start it had unstable idle revs-they would go up and down particularly when the car was warm, and would cut out at traffic lights. It never did this when it was cold or raining, only when it was warm or I'd been driving a while.Well we kept meaning to get it looked at and then the clutch went-got that fixed-cost us £423...car was OK...then one day my bf had a look at the car, topped it up with oil, fiddled with the throttle position sensor as someone (mechanic) told him that was the problem.Well-he unclipped a sensor, car would not go above 3000 revs and check engine light came on...clipped the sensor back in....and same problem-revs were unstable still but now would not go above 3000.So we got another throttle position sensor(after one stupid company sent us a throttle body twice!!still waiting on my refund from that)...and there is no change, other than the revs are now stable...but they are high-idle revs are around 1750-2000, and the car will not go above 3000 revs. The check engine light is on constantly, but if he tilts the sensor the light flashes. We are at a loss as to what it could be.A mechanic looked at it the other day and said it could be the carburrettor or the cat or even a blocked air pipe, but without diagnostics he couldn't tell.I've been without my car for 3 weeks now(and when you have 5 kids that need taking to school which is 4 miles away and your bf's car is a honda prelude-4 seater-it makes it very difficult to get them there). The mechanic is picking it up today and taking the car to the garage so we'll see what he says it is, but does anyone here know what it could be or has had similar problems?I will add that the car has lots of soot like stuff coming from the exhaust all the time plus if you stay in idle for a while it smells like rotten eggs.
Sorry for the long winded post-felt good to get all that out

Hi - here's hoping someone can help. My 2001 2.4 GDI Space Wagon engine suddenly died as I was driving along. It would not restart.Called out RAC and I was told that a fault code P0300 was picked up by the RAC guys code reader. This apparently is a multi cylinder misfire.Does anyone have any ideas how this happens or is cured.Fingers crossed.

Hi and Good Morning/Evening to all depending on where you are of course.
I am trying to source a pair of Front Brake Disec for my 1998 2.4 Chariot GDI i mistakenly ordered a set for a 1998 Spacewagon with the same engine code 4G64 and chassis N84W but the discs are to large in DIA ie 276mm, i only discovered this when the caliper bolts would not go through and the disc was rubbing the bottom of the caliper, apart from that they are identical with 5 stud holes ect, I cannot return them as the supplier is adamant i ticked his non returns box lol Anyway if anyone wants these they can have them for £20 (there scrap metal to me now)
Back to the subject matter i have been qouted a price of £300 for a replacement set surely not, i have tried Ebay and most factors but they all stock for the Spacewagon, i think the disc DIA would have to be in the 266mm region with of course the 5 stud stud holes,
Any suggestions please as i would love to keep my machine on the road but at the price qouted and being out of work is just impossible to meet,
Many thanks to all
regards
Steve

Anyone face with intermittent aircond problem on their grandis. My grandis is 4.5 years old with only 67,000km and now I have this intermittent problem.
I used to set the temp at 23c degress and set the fan speed to auto with air recirculating mode and blowing directly to cabin only (not floor or windscreen). I am being using such setting with no problem.
Now here the problem, with above setting, the aircond will run properly with cold air everytime I switch it on however the compressor nowadays take a longer time to engage (switch on) again after it clicking off so I get intermittent hot air while driving.
The aircond guy say the gas is enough as there is not air bubble seen and ask me to try set the temp to 18c (max for our ride) and try. However, the same problem is still there when I tried.
From internet I read, with model auto aircond system, dealer scan tool may eed to be used to diagnose the problem especially if it is electrical problem as I suspect it could be the compressor clutch or clutch relay or other electrical components since the gas is enough.
Has anyone has this problem before and no mind to share your experience?
Has anyone see C&C use scan tool to diagnose any aircond problem and can share your experience?

[size="7"][size="7"]Dear all,
I have just bought a 2000 Mitsubishi Grandis. It is a wounderful vehicle, however, there is a tapping sound in the engine. I was told it could be the valve lifters or the grade of engine oil i am using. It was also suggested that i switch to synthetic oil. I am really in need of some advise.

I have an 06 Grandis with reverse (parking) sensors.
The parking sensors recently became faulty, and were beeping constantly when the car was in reverse. My local Mitsubishi dealer charged me £110 to fix this - the work description on the invoice was "Reset ECU Unit and adjust as necessary".
Soon after, i had the rear bumper removed for some bodywork and when it was replaced, I had the same problem (constant beep) with the parking sensors.
To avoid my paying again to get this fixed. can anyone advise how I go about resetting the ECU unit myself or any other suggestions to fix this problem?
Many thanks in advance for any advice / suggestions.

MMCS system that comes with Grandis or Chariot or Space Wagon has a feature where in TV mode, the screen will not be showing the video when the car is moving.
Has anyone able to disable this feature (i.e able to watch TV while car moving)? I found out that there is a device that can disable this feature but only available in Japan.
i believed that this feature depends on the speed sensor signal, so in theory by bypassing the signal to the control box, it should work. but without a proper wiring diagram, i could not determine which wire is which.
Can anyone enlighten this? thanks.

Hi
Hello .. this is my first topic at that forum ... and first problem with my Grandis.DID...looking for your help
I am confused about what I heard from official service concerns vibration in diesel equipped Grandis...
Short story begins in july when i bought (used however 100% checked against crashes etc) 2006 Grandis with 2.0 DID engine(the same as in VW) with 6 speed gear box.
I didn't notice anything during my "pre-transaction" trip with seller... when the "blood pressure" dropped i found smth strange ...
When I press accelerating pedal (not iddle) from 1700 to 2500 rt/m I feel "massage" in my foot at each gears...
Official service checked it and informed me .. This Model Has Somthing Like That.. you should get used to it....
If you have any expierience with similar trouble(or not trouble).. pleas share it
Thx(sorry my mistakes..)

i urgently need a DOHC (DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAM) OVERHAUL GASKET SET for my Mitsubishi Grandis with ENGINE NUMBER 4G64 and MODEL NUMBER N84W-LRPC. During the initial acceleration and at a speed of 90km/h and above, the whole car starts to vibrate but not the steering. I've changed vew bush etc, do tyre balancing and wheel alignment...but the problem seems to come back.
Could it be the drive shaft or the wheel bearing (front/ rear)?
Any info or posibilities, most welcome to comment before i pint point it to the workshop.

Howdy folks am a newbie to this site but have been working on my L300 sf 4x4 van for 16 years and it is strong and good on lpg gas.
My question is concerning my vacuum booster. I have lost power assist on brakes, can hear the air leakin in when i depress the brake pedal, i am presuming the drum is bad, as lines are fine. I am going to get a boost drum from a wrecker but am wondering whether the 4x4 model has a different drum to the 2x2 model. It hard to get at under the dash but i can do it. Also is the boost drum repairable?
Thanks in advance for any help youz can give me here,
all the very best

Someone around has to know where to get things like the monsoon vent window visor things.
Or even if they make a a trailer hitch for my FWD vista, the FWD has the sparetire mounted underneath).
Also looking for a grill that will fit my car with the Mitsubishi emblem on it, and maybe even the MMC logo that came on these cars.

I have a 2005 UK Mitsubishi Grandis. Does anybody know where the sensor/switch to tell when the boot is open or close?. Normally there is a rubber tipped switch jutting out from the body but I cannot see one. Is it integrated in the latch? I have been rear ended on Tuesday gone and now the system reckons the boot is open when its not so I cannot set the alarm.
Looking forward to your responses

Actually I bought this car as a non starter from a local seller, I thought at the beginning it might be distributor or ECU which I can handle quite easily; according to person who sold this car for his sister, told me that this car just did not start during a short journey one day. Car was park over a month in front of their house and ultimately they decided to sell the car.
I towed the car to my place and start my investigation about the problem. First of all I took out ECU from the car and change electrolytic capacitors and refitted the ECU back to car. I asked my brother for jump start. Car started cranking with the jump start but did not fire. I am sure ECU is okay.
As second action I removed the distributor (T2T60271) type from the engine bay and replaced with T6T58071 type, after replacing distributor unit I tried a jump start, she cranks couple of times, then it stop cranking as well, then I refitted original distributor in the car.
I suspected that the original distributor of the car might be faulty then I sent the distributor (T2T60271) for the lab test. Company phoned me after test and told me that distributor is giving good sparks so they said distributor is okay. I tried to change spark plugs but I could not unscrew any of the spark plug from their positions. I suspected might be rust causing this problem; however I get commercial type spanner with long handle to undo the plugs. I replaced all old spark plugs with new ones, but one old plug was shorting as well, please see the attached photo graph of the plug.
I was hopping with charged battery and new plugs, tested distributor it should start now but it still did not crank engine. I thought might be starter motor is the problem. I replaced starter motor but engine still not cranking. I asked for push start but due to less air pressure it was quite difficult to get a reasonable speed to shift the gear and start the engine. It looks like crank sensor might be a problem after do above exercise. One thing I am sure that engine is not ceased. I hope at least.
I am not sure what is the location of crank sensor in the engine bay? If I know might be I can clean the contact point of plug.
I am thinking when engine will start cranking then I will check the fuel supply line. Can someone kindly advise me what else I can do to go to the bottom of the problem?
When I turn key to ACC position all lights on and than go off except engine oil (Red light) remain on, I am not sure this normal prior to the start of the engine or not?
Now Car details:
Mitsubishi Space Wagon, registered October 1997, Engine 4G63, 1997cc, GLxi, Manual , petrol, fitted with air condition unit.
Please help in this matter.

Hi,I'm new on here & need help please.
Last weekend I crashed my spacewagon, wrote off the tailgate! I went to a salvage yard & bought an identical tailgate & fitted it, however when I wired up the various parts I seem to have knocked out some fuses. I doublechecked the wiring & it seems fine, I replaced the central locking fuse & that now seems fine but, for some reason my lcd display & stereo are down, my automatic choke isn't kicking in, my trip counter resets every time I switch off, basically everything that seems to need a memory (even the 30 seconds extra time to close elec windows after shutting off has gone!) has stopped. I've been thru the standard fusebox & can't find whats down. Any clues or is it a visit to the repair shop? Thank you.

Hi all,
I live in London, UK and drive a Space Wagon (2000). The windscreen wiper on the driver side has broken off. I thought that it can easily be replaced. However most wipers in the shops are with for a wiper arm with a "hook". However on the driver side the wiper arm I have is a straight piece of metal with no hook. The wiper was was fixed with a simple screw (which has broken off). I am not able to find a wiper for such a arm anywhere. Any ideas?
Thanks a mill,
Mark

hi everyone.
my 1995 glxi diesel 2.0 spacewagon has always idled high when started. normal idle is about 800-1000rpm. when first started in the morning when cold, she'll idle at 2000-2500rpm. recently at 3000rpm all for about 30 secs then returns to normal in a space of about 20secs. only an annoyanc really would just like to see what it is and fix if not crackers money. If after work will do the same. only time she won't when first time starting is if the abiente temperature is high. (not often here in ireland).
any help appriciated.

Good People,
I own a 2003 Grandis and recently am hearing, intermittently, a chattering or rattling behind the dash/radio. Due to the intermittent nature of this sound I have not been able to adequately introduce it to my service personnel. I am attempting to seek some definitive explination before pulling up the Dashboard.
Any help would be much appreciated...............
Let me add the the sound is like an oscillating fan blade striking something.

Hi all,
I just want to get some oppinion from experince users on the matters as of the topic above. My car is emmiting some heavy blue smoke after idling for about 5 - 10 minutes. This is when i start to drive. after a while, the smoke desipate. Some of my friends are suggesting that the piston rings are worn which burn the excess M-oil, some say the head cracks and all sort of things.
I just want to have an idea whats wrong with it befor i send it to the mechanic.
Cheers

Hi everyone, just wondered what is the diagnostics port on a 1994 Spacewagon 4g63 engine is it obd1 or 2 im assuming its the port near the fuses in the drivers side. im trying to find out whats wrong with my auto box coz it keeps juddering in drive and wont go in reverse. The fluid is right up but couldnt really find out much about the box coz the manual I have is for a 1999!!

Hi Members,
Can someone kindly guide me to locate starter motor in my space wagon GLXi, 2.0 litter, and manual transmission? This is 1994 UK model. Is it easy to access to clean the terminal without mechanic costly help? Your input will be appreciated.
Regards

Hi All,
I have just bought a 1999 2.4 GDI petrol chariot super exceed, extremely happy with it, even after owning a L400 for 6 years..
However....
After extensively browsing all 11 pages and seeing multiple posts all over the place,
I was hoping that all you good guys could post here what you have found that cured this problem..
Car starts and drives fine., very VERY rare tickover hunting or knock like a misfire...
Main Issue : all gears , driving appx 2000 rev's , the engine judders , if under load like going uphill the judder is even worse...
Low revs and high revs , car drives great...
I've read about these possibilities
Throttle intake cleaning,
New Plugs and Leads
Fule line cleaning
New Coil
Engine flush - de-coking , new oil and filter
Fuel filter & Air filter
I'd really appreciate it if anyone can add any other things to check, or state what they did to cure this symptom on their motor,
thanks in advance, spent all my cash on the car so mechanics are not an option till i get some cash free again..
And I will post what ever i find my cure to be....

I can help some of you depressed Mitsubishi owners that have issues with your MMCS, I have several boot Cd's, which will reset your system for a RVR, Legnum 1997-on, Chariot 1997- on and Pajero 1.8, 2.5, 3.2. I can also supply MMCS booklets for all imports. I also can advise as I specialise in the above vehicles and there is mot much I don't know. As with other sites and individuals I will not fob you off with rubbish to get your money. If i can't supply you will not pay.
please contact me at gavin@gavin2.wanadoo.co.uk

Hi all
i have a little problem i have a 1992 chariot 2.0ltr auto,i bought the car from my friend who is a mechanic who tells me it needs an ECU for the gearbox, i have the ecu box in my hand the numbers on it are MD750529 my friend has taken the ecu for repair but it has come back not working i trust my mechanic 100% if he says its the ecu then it is.
the car drives no probs but does not change gear.
does anyone know if i can use a different ecu, i know that getting hold of one with the same numbers on it will be difficult,
or like rocking horse s**t.
does anyone know where i can get hold of one i live in the west mids and any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I had problem to start my Mitsubishi Space Wagon 1994, 2.0 litter, and engine 4G63 type, with manual transmission.
On the key turn there was no crank sound, I suspected it can be a loose connection between 12 volt terminal and starter motor. I get help to push the car and start her, after that car start without any problem. Can any one suggest from his experience with the identical problem with possible solution? Your assistance will be appreciated.

Hello all.
I've done a search but still not sure, any help would be appreciated.
When cold the car will start first time no problems and idle properly 1000ish rpm, after a while after warming a little the revs drop and engine stops. Try and start it again without putting revs on won't tick over, put revs on while starting fires up but if you take revs off cuts out again. If you start it with revs on and very carefully take foot off throttle till almost stalling it revs up and down itself 500 to 1000 rpm and will keep doing that but not settle, if you remove foot it stalls again. Leave car till cold and repeat above lol.
Any help in non too technical terms would be fully appreciated as it's a great car still after having her 5 years and would like to keep.

Hi Folks,
I have just bought a 1995 Space wagon 2.0 GLXi. I have no history with the car and want to change the timing belt. The motor factors say there are two differnt types for the same engine:( V5 quotes engine type as 4G63. Is there any way of telling which belt without removing the covers?
Thanks in advance.
