My Mitsubishi Space Wagon has started making strange engine noises and in low gear the driver's seat base vibrates. I thought at first it would be an exhaust system problem but a visual check shows little rust and no sign of leaks. With the bonnet open, when the engine is idling there are regular (not loud) tapping/knocking sounds coming from it. Goes away when you race the engine.

Hi
Could anyone tell me the best way to change all the oil in the auto box. I have drained the oil using the drain on the gearbox but only get 2 litres out. The manual says it should be over 6 litres. Whats the best way to get the rest out without doing any damage. Thanks

Hello,
I've a Space Wagon GLXi Auto 94/95 (UK M reg) and I would like to know what mpg it's doing at any point in time (in fact, I'd just like to know how to drive the car efficiently more fuel-wise, esp on motorways!). I hear this data is supplied via an OBD2 port. Does the Space Wagon of this age have an OBD2 port? Are there better/easier cheaper ways of measuring fuel...

I have a Mitsubishi Space Wagon GDI 2.4L Auto, V registration / 2000. This car was imported from Singapore into the UK. I am now looking for a throttle valve sensor, which controls the idle speed. The reason I am looking for this part is that the car dies on me intermittently, particularly when starting from warm. I have been quoted by UK dealers a price exceeding £200.00. However, I think the...

1660]Hi all,
Was wondering if someone might be able to provide a translation from Japanese to English for my fuse box lid (Mitsubishi Chariot). I have numbered the parts to make cross referencing easier. If this image is not large enough or clear enough please email me and I can supply a much larger version. The manual did not come with the car when I bought it 2nd-hand a...

Greetings to all, as a new member I have noted quite a lot of references to fuel octane ratings and associated problems with carbon build up in the engine.
We have had our 1998 2.4GDI Spacewagon for just over 3 years covering about 30,000 miles. Total mileage on car - 98,000.
Our first breakdown occurred yesterday when the engine management system warning light came on with...

Hi Everyone!
I am totally new to Mitsubishis, but I love the styling, so I plan to buy one.
Only problem is I live in Tokyo, and plan to go back to Europe within a couple of years. Now, i can live with RHD even on the right side of the road, but right hand driving headlights are a necessity, as are spare parts available from the local dealer. Obviously, I need to buy a...

I want to check and add (if needed) fluid to the auto gearbox on my 1994 2.0glxi.
The owners handbook shows that the fluid is checked by a dipstick next to the battery, but doesn't say where to add the extra fluid if needed. Could someone tell me where the new fluid is added, is it through the dipstick filler????

Hi everyone.
I've been offered a Mitsubishi Space Runner 1.8 GLXi (UK model) 1994.
Looks and drives well, the only thing stopping me from jumping at the chance of this motor is the high mileage.....it's 177000.
Is this a prblem with these, or do they run forever if well looked after?
Also....what are they like for parts etc?
I need something reliable as the...

Hi,
I bought a second hand (Jap import) in 2004, Odometer was at 97000 km.
Some mechanics say that this is usually replaced at around 80000 kms for this type of vehicle - which means it should have been changed long back and some say it requires a change every 100000 kms - which means I need to do this as it is now around a 120000 kms.
I have recd. quotes ranging from...

have got as far as removing the cam belt, now need to remove engine mount, handbook says the nuts/bolts need to be removed in a special order/sequence, but doesnt give it. There is one long bolt going through pieces of rubber & the engine mount bracket, torqued up to 88 Nm. Do I undo that first or the 2 smaller bolts holding the engine to this bracket. regards Dave (spacewagon 1993)

Vehicle wont change gear I recently had a new gearbox fitted, you can drive the car upto approx 80mph and it doesnt matter which gear it is in the vechicle wont change gear
before buying a new ecu unit at over £700 will this cure the fault
because actually when it is on diagnostics the computer cannot talk to the brain.
Could it be the throttle sensor?

I need a new used carburettor for my car. However, I can't find one for an automatic, only for a manual.
We have done extensive 'google' searches and can't find out if there is any difference.
Does anyone know if they are compatible?
Many thanks,
Schizoidgal.

Hello everyone!
I have this problem with my '94 Space Wagon.
Sometimes (usually when temperature is near 0 C) after turning engine off, ABS-unit just stays running. Sometimes it stops "running" after hour or it may continue all day until the battery is empty. I have managed to get rid off this problem temporaralily by unplugging the minus cable from the battery, but I...
