Has anyone ever changed the oil pump in a 1.6L 4g32 motor? I've got the head , sump,off water pump out etc.THe cam shaft ceased-no lubrication,but there was plenty oil up top .THe oil light came on intermittently for years,I think that was the sender unit though.I still want to change or check the oil pump just in case.

The standard length is 1005mm but that is a fraction too long - I can't tighten it as much as is recommended, so it is on the verge of slipping. my L300 has a major smoking problem only on start up. I've added "Stop Smoke" to my engine oil, and the smoking has stopped, however, I know its not completly fixed.

I thought it was my piston rings, but someone was telling me something about a "diaphram", which stuffs out (apparently a common thing with the cyclone engines), and needs...

We have 4M40TI Delicia and have removed the fuel injection pump for repairs and when we tried to time it back on the engine the timing marks do not correspond with the information we have.
Is there a special way to time thes pumps on to the vehicle?

Hi my central locking is not working, when the sliding door is closed the lock is really stiff, it can't be locked with the key. When the door is open it moves freely. When the lock button is pressed you can hear a click in the side door. This problem is also causing my battery to discharge when it is sitting. Can anyone help with ideas please?

Hi, I have a 1998 2.4ltr petrol L300 van and it has always used about a litre of oil every 1000ks since i purchased it at 150000ks (now has 200000ks) and now smokes badly when cold, it has good compression and runs well , I believe that there may be some common fault with cylinder head/valve guides . has any one else had the same problem and if so what is needed to be done to fix it.

Does any one know where i can get the box (not sure what its called, but stereo is massive so need a minimiser) i need to put the new stereo in and has any one done this already ? (its a 2.5 automatic btw)

Hi, I have a 1997 2.0 Carby Express Van L300. There is a marking on the block that says 3R (unknown what this means)

I also have a Carby 2.4 donk with markings III (as in roman numerals I think)

My question is, both blocks are marked 4G63 so is it possible to swap them over? The reason I ask is because I have sold all my toys and a little more overtaking power wouldnt go...

My fan belt has been getting progressively louder and I've been meaning to tighten it up. Its one of those things you only remember while you're driving.

So, finally I'm going to sort it out, however I've never actually tightened a fan belt before, so some help would be great..?

1990 l300 4WD

When driving my L300, for no apparent reason loses power/revs for several seconds then goes again. This problem has been more noticeable after bumpy roads but not while driving on them. We have had the electronics looked at with no luck. Hoping that someone may have had a similar problem and found the cause.

Just bought an old L300 with 195R14 (I think that's the right radius) off-road tyres.

Does anyone know what pressure I should be running them on. The van is rear wheel drive, but the weight (engine) is over the front and the two front tyres (which I've got at around 38psi) look like they're really under inflated.

I will try & keep this short after about 50000k the motor spun a big end bearing not having time to rebuild the motor I managed to lay my hands on a 2.6 litre manual TR Magna fuel injected...

Its a 1991 2L petrol, 4G63 carby 8valve

iv gone through and replaced all the usaul things, like plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor.
Iv reset all the tappets, changed the carb...

Hi, we're trying to repair a 4wd gearbox on 1985 Express L300 4X4, have bought 2nd car and replaced gearbox, but now can't get 2nd and 4th. Help?!
Original gearbox, wouldn't select some gears, then only when clutch was released, till no longer working at all.
New gearbox in now, but can only get 2nd on occassion once revs are up in 1st and slam gearstick into 2nd, but 4th...

My 1993 Express 4wd has, in addition to the normal oil pressure warning light, a similar looking one but with a wavy line under the oil can as if indicating a liquid. What's that warning light for?

Can anyone help my space gear will stall after approx 1 mile ,if left to warm up for 10 mins it will not do it and once restarted it is fine .There is a bit of smoke when restarted but i think that is excess fuel ,it runs fine once it has done this with no power problems and no smoke .The garages who have looked at it have no idea .
