Im looking into modifying starions and have been told some parts with newer mitsus are interchangable.

The 2.6 T Starion has the same block as a 2.6 Pajero
Same fitment of heard as a Galant? Is this a common mod to make a 16v?

What management mods can be done to make mapping easier?

I have a 1987 starion ESi. It started cutting out on me the other night, and now it will not start at all. I am getting fuel, but no spark from the coil. I show voltage to the coil however. Could it just be a bad coil, or is there something more complex? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

i have to get rid of my baby. the body has NO RUST !! does have some hail damage on top near sunroof and dings on pass door. i have a complete matching pass door. I've parted a starquest. I've posted some of these parts before and now I really need to sell the rest of the parts to clear room at my shop. Where is the fuel pump relay located on a 1987 starion esi?

I have a 1986 Conquest. The motor has been rebuilt, I cleaned out the fuel tank, replaced the fuel filters, and just installed a new 14g turbo. However, I still have a few problems:

1. After a few minutes of idle the RPMS drop and it begins to puff black smoke.
2. It seems to have a fuel supply problem at any given time but not always.

For some odd reason my conquest has lost its spark and the injectors have stopped firing all at the same time. This literally took place over nite and now i have no spark and no fuel injection.I ve have come to the conclusion that the spark issue is easily resolved by me installing a dura-spark system in place of the already failing igniter on the conquest.THE MORE CONCERNING PART OF THIS DILIMA...

just a quick hint....

if you changed your injectors , clips , mass air sensor , etc. and you car still kind of buckles or misses while your driving , try changing the distributor ... i thought the air flow sensor was messed up on mine ...we changed the distributor to fix another problem and it ended up fixing this one

no guarantees but try it out...it might work

Hey I'm new to the Starion/Conquests and was wondering if I could get some help. I just put a new head on my Starion and I'm having a heck of a time getting the cam timed. I know where the tdc marks are on the crank shaft pulley and timing cover. isn't the pin on the cam just suppose to be on the top or the bottom?

Hey! I have a question and i am hoping you guys can answer it. I could be gettin this weeked a 1985 mitsubishi starion esi turbo. Comes with 170 hp stock and 220 ft torque. Now the guy wants 1200 or best offer.. he says there is nuttin wrong with it is a 5 spd new clutch new header new radiaiter new everything pretty much as far as engine. He says it has a small dent over the driver door but...

A friend of mine has a Starion. I believe it's an 87, or 88. It's red and a it has a wing on the back (top of rear window). He says that it is a 4cyl, 3.0 liter. He says that is was a limited production. I have not been able to find any info on such a car online. My friend has been known to over exagerate at times.
