I am about to buy a new colt CZ2 1.3 3door 2009. I just had a few questions about it.
1. It says it has keyless entry. What does that actually mean? Is it just there way of saying remote central locking or are there no keyholes on the doors to open it with the keys?
2. Are there any problems that people have found with the 1.3 engine/gearbox etc?
3. Is it easy to change the head unit to a different aftermarket one and does this disable any of the features?
4. Any other general info about the car.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this and hopefully it'll give me some useful information :-)

Hello,
How straight forward is it to change the front speakers of my 3-door CZ1 Colt, and can it be done without breaking anything?!
Thanks,

Hi, does anyone one know if there is a low level RCA output on the standard radio of the Colt -09.
The stereo model is PZ-2300.
I would like to add an active subwoofer and this needs the low level output, but I still want to keep the stereo.
Thx / Conny

Hello
Now I've had my Colt almost 3 years, the odd bulb has started to go.
I've spotted LED bulbs for sale which have the benefit of low power consumption (good for not draining the battery) and last probably longer than the car.
The thing that's putting me off getting them is the disclaimer on them that says "Note: Some cars may indicate a bulb out or indicators may flash more rapidly to indicate a bulb out. This can be remedied by wiring a resistor across the bulb to simulate a 12v bulb blah blah blah".
So, my question is, has anyone put LED bulbs into their Colt, and have they worked straight out or have they had issues with indicators or anything else?
It amazed me you can get LED bulb versions of everything now ... from numberplate lights to indicators, brakes, festoon bulbs the works!
Many thanks anyway!

I was wondering how much repair costs are for the colt 1.3 in general compared to say a Vauxhall corsa? As an example how much would the back box on the exhaust system cost to replace?

After an annoying crash i'm having to break my cz3, salvage offered me silly price, so i'm going to break it to try make some money back on it.
Its got the following parts
-Full leather CZT seats
-16" alloys
-rear window colt blinds
-CZT mats
-underseat drawer
Its has damage to the bonnet, h/light, bumper, both wings, and n/s door.
I'll get some pics up asap, feel free to PM me asking for any parts/prices and more detailed pics
Thanks guys, Ste

I have a 2004 Colt Inform. On certain road surfaces there is a noticeable rumble from the rear wheels. Is this typical of Colts or could it be a sympton of a possible bearing problem? Anyone any experience of this?

Hello everybody,
My Colt turns on the engine indicator and prevents the engine to increase RPM(max 2000 RPM).
The Mitsubishi engineers tell me that this is usual in the new COLT and it only needs an engine software upgrade, because it is caused by a software bug and a false alarm.
After a few on/off of the ignition, the light turns off and the engine accelerates normally, until the next time the indicator lights again.
Is anyone else familiar with this problem? Is it usual to happen as they tell me?
Do i have to worry for something heavier than just a software upgrade?
Please advice...

Hi all!
I am new to this forum and have an alteria motive for joining:)
I recently purchased a Colt CZ2 and would like to put my custom Gear Knob into it. I cannot however figure out how to get the original, leather with silver plastic trim on the shaft, off.
I wonder if any of you have managed to replace it and can let me know how to replace it, without damaging anything!, for instance is it bonded on or threaded and glued???
Many thanks in advance!

Today I got the adaptor from Mitsu (MME31490
) to have AUX in.
But in fact you don't need the adaptor, just need to know the pins.

Lower row of pins in the plug are from left to right: ground, right, left =black, red, yellow.

i was wondering if someone could help me out a bit please
i have a czc2 (owned from new, coming up to a year old, had its first service and done 10k miles) and it has started doing something weird
when i brake, its fine
but when i accelerate slowly from braking (like in macdonalds drive thru), up to about 10mph, i get a squeak squeak at the speed of rotation of the wheel. it sounds like its coming from the front right hand side wheel.
simple enough. but here's some of the more unusual aspects:
i have had it up on axle stands before and spun the offending wheel. since new, it has been slightly contacting the brake pads at a certain point on the disc, methinks a warped disc, but the noise in question has only just started happening!!
its actually since its first service that it started happening (service done at a mitsu garage) but that is probably a coincidence as i dont think the brakes are items on the service checklist for year 1.
i'm hoping that its nothing more serious like a wheel bearing or bush or something but it does go away after you speed up and worst of all (which is why i cant get mitsu to diagnose it) it's a bl**dy intermittent fault - it doesnt happen all teh time. seems to be random when it does happen - dry or wet, hot or cold, etc etc.
anyone got any ideas?
the squeek is not ear splitting but you can hear it over the normally aspirated diesel vw golf next to you at the lights if you've got your window down

which is bad enough for me to be complaining!

Guys,
my 2005 Colt Instyle has an audio problem..
The steering wheel radio tuning control (the one on the left hand side) does not shift frequencies up anymore.
Moreover you can feel the switch inside is somehow broken since it does not "click". Unfortunately the electrical contact is always "on" so the main side effect is that the radio unit cannot be controlled at all.
Any ideas on how to fix this ? Open steering wheel and change switch I suppose, but how ? Potential issues with airbag ?
All suggestions are greately appreciated
Many thanks
Luigi

well after nearly 12 months of owning my czc its time to say goodbye, ive had many faults with the car and all seem to have in the end been fixed its a great little car and is good fun wjen your topless
ive experineced most of the common problems and some of the less common too!!! so i have a fix for most things, having had spacestar before i have now decided to go for a brand new lancer in black which i hope to get very soon so ill still be poking around the froums for a while to come, if you need to know anything about your czc shot up a post and ill help out if i can.
common faults on the czc which ive come across are......
leaky roof
poor roof seals
windows that go up and down when trying to close
boot opens for no reason
squeaky windows
engine hunting
crunching on reverse
noisy display
central door locking
steamy headlamps
drifting to left
all of these have been fixed and are now fully correct!! my little czc has done only 2408 miles so the next owner should be well happy with her and its got the exclusive chrome hoops behind the rear seat as well as the full chrome trim inside.
well im off to read my lancer brochure agaun for the 100th time!!!!!
hope you all enjoy your colts

Hi
firstly, apologies if this has already been answered...I'm picking up my used CZ2 diesel in a few days and keen to understand if anyone has replaced the speakers in the front doorts and rear doors...if so, could you please recommend what you installed and also what are the speaker sizes ? Are they 13cm or 16cm ?
I realise the fronts are tweeters and woofers and rears are full range ?
Thanks

I own a 2006 Colt diesel CZ3, can anyone tell me which coloured wires from the o2 sensor located in the catalytic convertor, connect to the coloured wires from the loom? The colours are as follows.
SENSOR- [5 wire]
Red, Yellow, Black, White and Grey. (no stripes)
LOOM- [6 wire]
red and grey striped (x2), green with thin white stripe, red with thin black stripe, red with thin blue stripe and grey with thin orange stripe. The last two wires are thicker in diameter.
Please can anyone help, the car is in limpo mode and i'm trying to put right what the previous owner had bodged.
Kind regards,
Richard

Bought my new Colt 1.1 3 door in black last Friday. VERY impressed so far, but for one thing.
Now I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, or if this annoying sound actually sounds louder than it is because I'm thinking of it, but there is a constant high-pitched monotonous buzz sound coming from my central display (with the clock and radio/cd display) as soon as I turn the key and the clock comes on, before I even start the engine.
And this buzz is sooooo annoying. Although it is at quite a low volume, it is very high pitched and although it is mostly drowned out when I have the radio or a CD on, a change in track or some dead air on the radio makes this ear-terrifying sound creep through and I am beginning to hate driving!
It is really starting to do my head in.
Has anybody got any suggestions before I take it back to the dealers?
Thanks

I've been looking at a Colt for sale locally. It says it's a Colt 1.5 Sport (56 plates).
Am I right in assuming that it'll basically be like a normal Colt 1.5 but with a couple of extras (it has red seats and red leather gearstick knob and steering wheel)?
Thanks in advance for any info...

Hi there! Colt CZC lover from Italy here! A little question about Colt models '06 and newer...do you have any links for download workshop manuals? Many Colt users here in Italy are searching for them! Anyone can help me? I'm especially interested to the Rooftop manual (if it exist).
PS: Bought my Colt CZC (2006 production) this year (may '08), it was a "test" car from Mitsubishi-Motors Italy. You can see my jewel here:

I had a flat tyre last week and put the spare on but as luck would have it cross threaded one of the stud bolts. I have been looking for for a spare everywhere with no luck. It seems that Mitsubishi only produce the entire hub which will cost around £140 !!
Could anyone please tell me where I could purchase a bolt or if there is anyone out there who has a spare that I could buy. I really would appreciate it.

After reading this post
http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t18896-20...splay-noise.htmi find myself asking "did you ever get this problem resolved?"
My wife bought a Colt Black Hawk in March and she has noticed the high-pitched monotonous whine ever since. It is driving her demented.
i took it to the local dealership today but they said it is present on all Colts and Mitsubishi describe it as "a characteristic of the vehicle"
Any advice on what to do next ?

Hi everyone. Actually its my dad's car. its a 1.1 colt mirage, 2006. Been giving it a good clean in and out whilst he is on holiday.
To the point -
The car wont start, turn the ignition and it just makes a clicking sound. The immobiliser light is displayed on the screen, but not all the time.
i have had the radio running for hours on end i must admit, but not longer than i would have done in my own car, which ive done before with no problems.
Anyways, tried jumping it today and i honestly dont think its the battery. And the head lights dont seem dim enough either.
Now i cannot find the spare key for some reason. i figured it might be a problem with the key after reading the manual, but i dont know where hes put it so i guess for the next 2 weeks that option is out of the window.
Would apreciate help or advice, hope to hear from someone soon !
Thanks, Mike.

Hi there!
I live in Cairo, Egypt, and I'm buying a new 2007 Mitsubishi Colt next week (yes, the local Mitsubishi agent still has an inventory from 2007 for that model) but unfortunately all Colts sold here come with no radio/CD and the local agent doesn't provide it as an option either (they only have those for Lancers

). So my question now is, can I buy one online and have it shipped to Egypt? Does anybody know of an online shop that carries those radios? I want the stock radio in order not to mess with the original dashboard appearance

Cheers,

Hi All,
There's an Allshift Colt for sale near me at a good price. I was planning on getting the manual, but is it worth holding out for one?
If I did get the Allshift, I would probably use it in manual mode 95% of the time. I am a bit concerned that allshift cars seem to be around 1.5 sec slower 0-60 than their 5-speed manual equivalents.
Are they only slower when in full automatic mode or is the Allshift manual mode slower than a normal manual too?
Cheers,
Alex

Hello.
This is the first post that I write here, and I´m very happy to know that there is a place where colt owners of all arround the world could talk abaut our little mitsu

This time I´m going to talk abaut the electronic hidden menu that we are tryin´ to discover in our spanish mistubishi forum (http://www.forosgratuitos.com/index.php?mforum=mitsubishi )
As you well know, we´ve got a LCD screen where we can see the temperature, the hour, and the instant consumption. But there´s a hidden menu over the colt computer, where we can changed some funcions that will show us different data information over this LCD screen.
For example, having the engine key in OFF position, press the A button (in the up right side of the screen) and hold it during you change the engine key to ON position. If you have done it right, you will be able to change the instant consumption choice to a velocity average or a km number that remain you to put more gas on the tank.
We think that there´s a lot of more tricks over this "cz3 inside computer" that we don´t know yet, but tryin´ I´m sure that we´ll discover many interesting things.
Best Regards.

I recently bought an 05 2005 Colt 1.3 Elegance which I have noticed drifts to the left occassionally. Its only done 20000 miles and seems to be an intermittent fault. I took it back to the dealer and they said all Mtsubishis are designed to drift to the left for 1 metre in 200 metres of driving in case the driver falls asleep at the wheel!
Has anyone else noticed this on their Colt? Having checked the tyre pressures im sure the car hasnt had a knock at the front. Any ideas?
