So, our 2007 Outtie has had the transmission update but now it is doing something different. We will be driving around at a normal speed, under normal stress and it feels like the transmission is jumping from 5th to 4th and back to 5th really quickly. We definitely feel a jerk for no reason.

Yesterday after I got home from work, I pulled my car in the garage, and like I sometimes do, I reved it up. It did something different than it usually does though. When the rpms reached 3000 the engine started to cut out. It would just bounce there off the 3000 mark and would not let it go any higher. I know some vehicles have the saftey mechanisms in place, but why would it just start doing...

Once every so often when I turn off the car the key will be stuck in the ignition and cannot be taken out. To remove it I have to start the car again and wait for a while before trying to remove the key. Is there something wrong with the car?

Ok is it just me or am I having a strange aligment problem. My car started bouncing around so I brought it to a shop. The tires in the front were balding on the outside of the tread. They said the tires were cheap and the aligment was trown off. I bought two other tires and now the oem tires that came with the car are balding again and the alignment feels off again.

That is very restrictive. The pipe in several places is crushed. Someone needs to come up with an aftermarket pipe setup.

I would bet that it would free up 30+ hp.

The Outlander Dakar edition is a diesel powered vehicle. It's a modified production vehicle fitted with aero parts, carrier box, roll cage, and other modifications to allow it to withstand the grueling challenge of the desert. The powertrain itself was not modified, so durability of the engine will somehow reflect actual reliability of the Outlanders sold to the public [UK and EU].

It only makes sense that they do. As with any software they can continue to update it and iron out any kinks, bugs, shortcomings, etc..

I am a new 2007 outlander owner who is trying to determine the correct maintenance schedule to follow. My dealer say every 3000 (don't they ALL).
When I check the web page the regular maintenance is scheduled for every 7500, but when I review the PDF file attached to the web page is states 5000 mile intervals as the reccomendation. Any suggestions?

I have an 07 XLS Outlander. Has anyone had problems with their interior lights not going off when you close the door? When mine are set to the "Door" setting they come on normally but don't go off. The dealership checked the wiring and the door sensors and said it was good to go. But, it is still having the problem.

"For the 2008 model, Mitsubishi will add two new engines. The first one is a 2.2 Di-D, Diesel common rail with a maximum power of 156 hp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 280 lbs-ft at 2000 rpm. It solved my problems with missing torque at cold-start.

It also made the engine run more queit.
