The Outlander Dakar edition is a diesel powered vehicle. It's a modified production vehicle fitted with aero parts, carrier box, roll cage, and other modifications to allow it to withstand the grueling challenge of the desert. The powertrain itself was not modified, so durability of the engine will somehow reflect actual reliability of the Outlanders sold to the public [UK and EU].

Does any one know if Mitsubishi plans on releasing software updates to the Multi-Communication System?
It only makes sense that they do. As with any software they can continue to update it and iron out any kinks, bugs, shortcomings, etc..
One thing that drives me insane... The MusicServer & CD Player have no Pause/Play button nor does it have a mute button.

Hi I have a couple of questions about the 08 Outlander...
1.) Is it the same basic vehicle as the 07 & did the 2008 just come out or has it been out for a few months?
2.) Has anyone hauled a trailer with it? It took forever but I finally found that its rated for 3,500 pounds ( I found it under the accessories page... go figure)
3.) Does it have a tilting & telescopic...

Hi everybody,
I'm new here, I don't have a Mitsubishi yet but I'm planning to become the happy owner of an Outlander soon!...
I would be interested in installing a Car PC in my new Outlander and I am wondering if I could connect it with the MMCS. Does the screen have an auxiliary-video input? Can it receive video signal from an external source somehow? A VGA...

I am a new 2007 outlander owner who is trying to determine the correct maintenance schedule to follow. My dealer say every 3000 (don't they ALL).
When I check the web page the regular maintenance is scheduled for every 7500, but when I review the PDF file attached to the web page is states 5000 mile intervals as the reccomendation. Any suggestions?
My driving is mostly highway and...

I came across this on Crutchfield.com and it's also available at bestbuy.com which is the only place I shop for electronics, but anyways...
Basically this unit is FM modulated and comes with a remote control, but the cool thing about it is that if your stereo has RDS then the artist, album and other data can be displayed on the factory stereo display.
This unit has 2 AUX...

I am looking at trading my endeavor for an Outlander XLS.
I have a personal thing about AWD i.e. I really want it! But....the local dealer has what may shape up to be a very good deal on a 2WD loaded XLS.
Its not that I do much off roading or that I'm likely to get stuck (here in FL for the time being!) - but I have had a string of AWD cars including a Subaru WRX...

This is my first time posting here, and I want to thank everyone for all the other posts I have looked through...this will solve so many problems I thought I was having but that the tech didn't believe I had.
I have had my Outlander XLS for about 6 months now (love my car) and the fan for the air on the passenger's side of the car started rattling. I took it in, but the fan...

It's unclear to me whether U.S. Outlanders have two features.
Does the LS and/or XLS have a standard cargo cover?
Does the XLS' Luxury Package include power recline for the driver's seat, or is the seat just have power adjustments for fore-aft, height, and the tilt of the seat bottom?
Please specify whether you have a 2007 or 2008.
Thanks.

I have had my XLS for 6 weeks now. This is so much more of a vehicle than my 03 Outlander XLS.
I have just had the ECU and TCU reflashed to take care of this issue. It was a real pain in the rear. Felt like I was going to be rear-ended every time I slowed down.
For those of you that don't know, it is a known issue and they just released the "fix" (TSB...

Hello fellow members,
I have a 2007 Outlander with the standard 6-disc radio. It has the button on the radio for Satelite but nothing happens when I press it. In the manual it says that if it has the tuner installed in the vehicle then the 1-888 phone number should appear in the display and I can call to activate it. Well, the number doesn;t appear, and I am wondering if any of you know...

Hi everyone
I have a new Outlander XLS and need to add a plug for a trailer with electric brakes. The dealer installed tow bar has a flat four plug and I need to add a round six or seven. I noticed a hatch in the rear bumber which comes off easily. The inside of the hatch reads "towing cover". Is this meant to be the location for the recepticle I need to install? My...

We've bought a 2007 Outlander ES. It was represented to us to have blue tooth function by which we could talk on our cell phone through the radio speakers.
We asked about it during our test drive and the salesman said he hadnt figured it out himself, but that this model had it. Now it appears that the ES is prewired for blue tooth, but it needs something added for it to be functional. ...

I have an 07 XLS Outlander. Has anyone had problems with their interior lights not going off when you close the door? When mine are set to the "Door" setting they come on normally but don't go off. The dealership checked the wiring and the door sensors and said it was good to go. But, it is still having the problem.
