My 2006 gls does not come with the digital fuel consumption readout near the odometer. Does anyone know if this feature is built in to the computer or is it a separate chip? How can I add this feature to my Outlander? Also, where is the ambient tempurature reading? (don't have that feature either).

Anyone using Acetone (nail polish remover) as an additive to increase mpg? I'm going to try this next week and see if there are any improvements. From what I read on the net seems to add about 5-15% increase in mpg and you only need 2-3 ml per 10 gallons. Not only does it decrease fuel consumption, it should increase HP & decrease emmissions. It also is a cheap additive as it only...

I just purchased a 05 Outlander and it has the projectors with H1 bulbs. I want to convert to HIDS as I already have H1's and ballasts from my other vehicle. The problem I see is that Mitsubishi uses sometype of socket to hold the H1 bulb in place. There is a wire that holds this socket into the projector.
How would you hold a standard H1 HID bulb into it? Any place to buy these...

Just purchased a used 2003 Outlander. The dealer gave us two remote key fobs but only one worked. I fiqured it was just the battery so I just put in a new one but it still does not work. I then noticed that the two fobs are not alike. Close but not the same.
Is there a quick way to program this fob? I have searched the web but could only find a place that wanted $20 for this...

Hi guys,
i was at RoadRaceMotorsports this weekend and checked out some of their parts. I initially went to see if the RA piggyback will hookup to the Outlander. The good news is it will, the bad news for me is that they do not have a map set up for it yet, so you will need to tune it yourself with a laptop. I am not knowledgeable enough to tune my own vehicle yet:( The X strut bar...

I am a proud, new owner of a 2006 Outlander GLS AWD. I love the ride quality in this vehicle, very smooth!! I've built a Cold Air Intake system for my previous car, EK4 Honda Civic and it worked just fine. It was very simple to make as I used 3" PVC pipes and an Akimoto cone filter. I also bought the air bypass valve from AEM to ensure that only air gets in during wet weather. I also painted the PVC pipes with red roof paint to help reduce the heat and installed the whole system with plumbing...

Hi all,
I have a friend with a new VR-X Outlander 4X4 and it is makes a lot of fan noise when she turns the A/C on. It is a new vehicle and when she took it back to Mitsubishi they told her that it was normal and wouldn't do anything about it. Has anyone else had this problem with an Outlander and if so what, if anything was done to rectify it??
Many thanks

Hi,
I own an Airtrek 2.0 and currently I have this gear shifting problem. Each time when shifting gears, the RPM will spike up 500 then drops abruptly back down. Hence, I will experience a shudder each time when the gear changes. Is the transmission faulty ? I have tried changing the ATF but it's still the same. Help - Anyone out there with the duel fuel version ? need to know how long the fuel guage should take to register what is in the petrol tank when changing from LPG to petrol ??
Only had the car since Christmas and have run it on LPG as it is so much cheaper than petrol - getting 24mpg around town which cost wise like getting over 40 mpg using petrol.

Ok - it's cold outside. Could that be the reason that my fairly new Outlander (2005 AWD XLS) is squeaking? The squeak is coming from the right rear suspension assembly - could be the springs/shocks *(I'm not too technical). It sounds like I'm sitting on a squeaky bed, and it happens when I drive over even the smallest of bumps, sometimes on larger bumps I hear the same noise from the...

Dear All,
Is there anyone can advise?
I bought Airtrek in 2003, now the Engine gives me a very loud humming noise when the car idle or moving. And sometime the noise come and go. I can hear that it is from the Air cond fan (I think so). Some people told me, it is due to the electronic control device faulty. If yes, what is the cost? Please advise is there any danger if not to replace.

Just received my new AWD Outlander.
Would be interested to hear comments re its off road ability.
I don't want to take her up and down dunes, or forge rivers, however a run on beach sand would be nice.
Also in sand, do I leave her in Auto, or use the manual low gears?
I'm in Western Australia.

Hello all.
I am an owner of the Outlander turbo. However the "problem" that I will describe is common to all Outlanders. This is about the car computer and more specifingly about the remaining distance that you have based on the fuel consumption. When this remaining distance reaches 0 km and I go to the gas station to fill it up, it takes approx. 47 to 48 liters, meaning that there...
