Someone told me that I can swap in an FTO MIVEC engine into my mirage. Im pretty sure this is possible but how easy would it be to do it? Would you need too many mods to the car to do this? Alright I got a Evo V wide body kit on my car. The only thing is, is that it was made for the 4 door coupe's instead of the 2 door. I've got gaps where the front fenders meet the original body, also on the on the bumper. Most of them are about 1 to 2 inches long. I have a 1996 Mitsibishi Mirage with 50k on it and I turned it on today and the check engine light came on and the engine was idling erratticly like a surge idle high and low RPM's. I took it to my mechanic and the trouble code showed an ICU Idle Control Unit . The part cost me 237.00 from the dealer. Hope this helps someone troubleshoot the problem on their own .Good Luck ...

I have a 92 Mirage 1.5L with an auto tranny with overdrive. I have checked for TCU codes but have not found anything.
- Is the pin for the TCU right next to the ECU pin (to the right)? That was my understanding and I get nothing from this pin (not the all clear pulse or any codes).
- Does this mean the TCU is dead?

I have a 2001 Mirage. In hte morning the digitla guage cluster works fine. I drive it 3 miles to work and when I leave at lunch the cluster does not work. It will not display until hte next morning. Has anyone seen this issue?
