I have mixed opinions when it comes to vortex generators, and there was no way I was going to get the universal ones, but I found these. I know theres a guy on the fourm who works for this company, but I was wondering if anyone has bought from them, and if so, whats the quality?
X-Factor DesignI was quoted about 110 shipped to US.

Ok, i'm sure this sounds silly. But i'm thinkin of giving up my truck for one of these cool little cars. I was wondering if there is a receiver hitch available for these cars? I would only tow about 500 to 1000 lbs at most maybe a utility trailer or at most a motorcycle. thanks for your input.

Most of the lancers I've seen has the blacked out front bumper, but here is a picture of a greyed out front bumper, looks tight i think, something different.
copy paste this to your address bar for a picture.

for some reason it doesn't work as a link.

It looks very mean, I like it, keep the new body kits coming, coming out in Japan soon.
US body kit makers should catch up, a lot of body kits are coming out mostly from Asia.
But here you go:

Hey I know its been posted before but the last thread was semi hiijacked.....
SO anyways. I was vacuuming out my car yesterday evening, and I notice that the seats are really really hard to get clean. We have a dog so there is always something on our clothing at some point. Its not just dog dander either though, any kind of lint wont come off either so im pretty annoyed with it cause my 4 month old car looks terrible on the inside.
I've tried lint cleaning adhesive strips and armor all multi purpose cleaner ( it says its good for seats)
Does anyone have any suggestions for me ? Or should I just go blow a hundred on getting it cleaned at a car detailing place?.
Or does anyone have suggestions on seat covers that are not ridiculously stupid looking?

Yeah, so I keep burning through LED city lights... something about them flickering after using them for about a month. Apparantely, heat and voltage spikes will cause premature failure... but if it was a voltage spike, wouldn't ALL my LEDs fail? This is why I believe it is heat related since the LEDs I used to use weren't designed for heat applications. I
used to use
THESE, but now I use
THESE.
Problem with the second ones is that they are 6000K white, so they have a slint of blue in them (which looks bad compared to my 5000K HIDs).
I want to get another take on what everybody else uses for LED city lights and if anybody else has been having problems with using LEDs in the city lights.
I'm considering these... because I have them for my tail markers and they are BRIGHT!

For those who got theirs installed after you bought you're car, was there any space between the car and the sills? I just got them installed at the dealership, after the first time they put it on there were pretty large gaps, they redid and its better but there are still some small gaps. Now I had the front bumper extensions done also and those fit perfectly. They said those were screwed in while the sides were taped or something. Anyone else have this problem? What do you guys think I should do?

I've looked all around here (south AL) and haven't been able to find any Dupli-Color. I went to automotivetouchup.com and found some adhesion promoter for 7.95 and some black bumber paint for 6.86.
Just wondering if this reasonable prices?

Hey all, I got an 08 lancer ES that i bought about 4 months ago, so far i've only gotten it debadged. I was curious what you guys thought about me trading it in for an 09 es sport which has the spoiler, fog lights, and front air dam and side skirts that i wanted to get for my 08, would you think it would be a good idea to trade the 08 in, or just keep it and install all that jazz myself? Appreciate the feedback

Went to Mitsubishi's website and looks like they added some new stuff for the 2009 Lancer. My favorite... the Touring Package. What's the Touring Package you ask? Well, let me elaborate! The Touring Package upgrades your stock halogens and headlamp housing to HIDs with the auto leveling projector housing (with auto on/off function). You also get Active Stability Control with Traction control and Rain sensing wipers! MSRP: $1,000 USD.
...
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS! The headlamps alone cost nearly $700 A PIECE! And that's without the HID kit! So unfair...
Anyways... I called up the dealership I bought my car from (Napleton Mercury) and they told me that they didn't have much info on the package since it's really new, so I left my callback information with the rep so he could call back when he could get more info. I called up another dealership where I almost bought a car from (Grand Mitsubishi) and one of the guys there told me that the Touring Package is only available from the manufacturer. I would be able to buy all the parts from them and let them install it, but it's going to be a lot more than the $1000 price tag. Furthermore, the package isn't actually available at the dealerships now because it hasn't been released. The expected release date is September of 2008.
The guys at Grand suggested that I trade in my 2008 Lancer and get a brand new 2009 with the package. What did I tell him?
"Trade in my car? No way! The 2008 is the
only model that will ever come out in Electric Blue Pearl. Plus it's a fully loaded GTS from the manufacturer! I'm driving one of the rarest cars in Chicago!"

I'm looking to buy a lancer 09 GT... was thinking about getting tint for it.... was wondering if i get it done by the dealership/factory or what not (sales guy said its around 300 bucks CDN) is there still a problem with scratches (do they already install the moleskin) ... or does the problem only affect those who tint it by a outside shop.
most posts ive seen with problems with tints have been made by someone who had it tinted by some outside shop.
Anyone have problems with cars that come tinted?

Hey guys.
Someone backed into my Lancer and damaged my front bumper.
Thankfully enough he stayed at the scene and he's replacing the bumper for me.
What are your suggestions on aftermarket bumpers? Are they worth it?
Would I have problems with the fit?
Who should I buy one from if I chose to go with aftermarket?
Has anyone got a different front bumper installed?
To get the manufacturer bumper it would cost 558 for the bumper itself and 285 for the air dam. Plus painting. I'm sure I could get a different bumper for much less.
Someone mentioned to me that if the bumpers get damaged when shipped they don't cover the cost of fixing or don't replace the bumpers (for aftermarket stuff) - anyone hear or know about this?
Your input would be greatly appreciated!

hey I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, Aqua Metallic and loving it! For the longest time I've been in love with BMW's style of HID's with the Circle of HID light around the bulb for the Daytime Running lights. I was wondering since that Lancer has round headlights if there is a place that sells those style of lights for the Lancer?
here's a picture of what I want to get, see attachment or here is the link

I noticed a deep rock chip in the groove on the side of the hood. I put the first paint stage on ever so slightly and let it sit for almost a day. When I went to apply the clear coat dabbing it again ever so slightly but it was as if the the first stage was still freshly wet. It came out all goopy and I ended up scraping it off with a small sheet of sand paper in order to do it again. I put a little more paint on this time, evened and smoothed it out with a piece of paper and its currently drying. It's been about 7 and a half hours as of posting. Now that it looks good I'm worried about putting the second stage on. Is there a trick to it that I'm missing? Is a day too little/too much time? Thanks.

Hi Guys,
Im thinking of putting a "Side Window Air Deflectors" just to tone down the sun a little. I would just want to ask though:
- Is there any practical use of adding a Side Window Air Deflectors? (aerodynamic reason? etc)
- Will it come off easily specially if 80% of driving is done on the freeway?
- Will it make the car look ugly or not?

So, I bought my lovely Lancer a nice colormatched Shark Fin from Visual Garage and I was soooooooo happy to install it. It looks grrrrrreat!
...
Except for the part where it rained last night and the fin SHIFTED! I had it perfectly straight and everything, but now the fin is all lopsided. This sucks...
Anybody know what I can do to remove the fin and reinstall it? That sucker is on pretty good and I know the 3M adhesive will lose some strength if I take it off. Making sure it is straight is really hard on this car because I'm 5'5" and the car is almost as tall as me

Halp halp!

So i did some painting for the engine cover, spark plug cover, fuse box cover. Blacked out the stock chrome grill piece and added chrome trim to the front. IMHO helps the look of the lancer 10x more. Only problem while doing this is i got red over spray onto part of the black honeycomb grill insert and as its barely noticeable its still there but gave me a nice idea to have the grill over sprayed for the whole thing cuz it gave it a red tint on the inside of the grill.
Total time: Varies because i had the engine cover and the 2 others sanded primered and sanded again when i started on the front end. So it took a few hours to get everything done and painted and sitting down to dry. A great weekend spent.
**Pardon for horrible camera quality** (camera phone is all i could work with)

started taping and cutting with razor.

once it was taped off. looked good as it was
(Dont have pics of the spark plug cover or fuse box cover sanded or primered)
Sanded those 3 things and primered with 2 light coats and then sanded again when primer was dried. Cleaned off with rubbing alcohol and a cloth towel and then went onto the next part.

painted

painted

painted
Next was the chrome piece on the front end. That was sanded and primered with 2 light coats and then sanded again after the primer dried.

primered

painted
Next was adding the chrome trim. This was pretty easy. Cleaned the area needed with a cloth towel and rubbing alcohol and made sure no dirt or anything was there to prevent its stickiness.

chrome trim installed and the blacked out grill piece was still drying (i gave it a day and a half in a shop that doesnt have ac to dry) came out fine. I wish i took more time on this because to me and others that study it its not very straight in some areas, but once it was on, it was on for good. Still looks awesome tho.

just a pic with my stock lights on

Everything put back on and painted
