Anyone here have an auto tranny and know how to change the shifter? I looked but don't know how get the **** thing off. Didn't wanna just pull so anyone done this already?

I currently have a set of 5000K halogen Hoen foglights for my car. My friend wants to upgrade his 5000K HID kit to a 6000K bulb. So what I was thinking was buying a 6000K kit for my fogs, giving him the 6000K bulbs while he gives me some cash and his LIGHTLY used 5000K bulbs. All in all, I get a 5000K HID kit for about $130.

Is it worth upgrading my foglights to full HIDs?

So I got bored today and bought an exhast tip for the lancer. Me and my husband are pretty poor at this point but hey at least I got a little bling for now
Hopefully someday I can do it right and replace the whole system, but for now I dont have money like you clowns

Hey i have realized that on both back doors in the bottom right hand corner of both sides and on the rear fender it seems lik stones have been flying up and nicking the pant off little by little. There are thousands of little tiny white marks where that paint isnt i have an electric blue 08 gts has anyone eles had this problem?

Personally, I like the look of blue fogs. However, that kinda defeats the purpose of having fog lights cuz they won't work very well in the fog. I'm planning on getting either PIAA or Nokya or something along those lines. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I have a problem with the interior dome light and i want to know if anyone else has had this problem or is it just my luck?...
The problem is that when i set the switch to door it doesn't turn off... i have the HDD navigation system and i set it to dim out in 7.5 seconds.... now the problem is that it stays on i have to put the switch in the off position, or else the light just stays on. I made sure everything was closed (it was) and the little thingy on the dash says all my doors were closed fine..
any solutions ? If i can't get any help i will turn to the dealership

hey i was wondering if anyone knew about a website that sells emblems for the 2008 mitsubishi lancer cause I have been looking for a Galant Fortis emblem to put on the back of my car and i cant seem to find it.

This Sat. I am going to get tints on my 2008 Silver Mitsubishi Lancer DE. I am going to get the Lumar tints but I was thinking of either getting 30% or 35% all around but not sure which one. I am not sure because of the black interior. I am not sure yet if i am going to get the windshield done, if i do get the windshield done i am probalby goingto get a visor also...

So can I get your opinions and/or pics? Oh and also I have been seeing people saying that if you tint the windows you will need to get the protector thing. Is that true for all of the 2008 models or certain ones?

Okay so ive been browsing these forums along with project lancer and 4b11. There seems to be some confusion regarding the tinting problems of the 2008 and if it carried onto the 2009 model. Does anyone actually have a real basis for a solid answer?(experience) Most of what i read was based on implication.

Does anyone have pis of GTS with mud guards? Im thinking this will prevent rocks and debris from damaging the paint since some owner are having touble with this issue. Wanna see how they look in the car first.

Does anyone have a "how to" on removing/reinstalling fog lights?
Looks like my fog light got hit on the highway, still works.but it got dislodged and is now inside the grill area.

Well I am currently looking into buying a 2009 Lancer (not quite decided on the trim level yet).

I haven't heard of any HID options coming along stock with this car, but have noticed that one of the EVO X cars at my dealers lot has some projector headlights with HID's. At first glace the headlights seem of the same size as the Lancers do, so can someone confirm if they are a match?

Well, once again looking to mod my future car... I'm probably going to jump on the first set of evo projector HID's I see, so I want to use my stock ones for a project. I plan opening them up and painting every the chrome black on everything where it isn't needed (everywhere that not used to reflect the light basically).

Example:



A project I did with 1 mach HID focus headlight. Looked good but it wasn't in working order lol. (Dont have pics of the finished product I lost all but that one in HDD crash)

I would paint everything black with a nice clear coat. Now the meat of the question is, are lancer heads easy to disassemble? Will I have to goop them up with silicon to reseal them up properly?

Its still a young car but theres probably someone thats tried it right? I hope....

just got the diamondplate floormats and they fit perfectly and look great....such a nice touch to the interior.

also, i am sur this has been answered and i looked and read all over here, but, how is everyone changing that chrome molding around the upper front grill? i want mine black. i was looking at it last night real quick, i didnt see how it comes off. is it glue like most moldings?

does anyone know if its black??? because if it is im gonna buy one and just not paint it. i have the graphite gray. and really want a new hood but refuse to pay the money for carbonfiber. so yea if anyone knows hook me up cuz im rele close to buying one!!! i just dont want to buy it and have it show up white..or that ugly teal color some fiberglass bumpers and fenders come..because then id have to spend the extra money to have it painted.

Anyone have a pic of a black lancer debadged with the fast key button? Im afraid if i debadge the back of my gts the fast key button will stick out and look ugly.

So I'm gettin this wax job from the dealership called Xzylon. I guess its the same stuff the air force one has on it! Its a 5 year wax that molecularly bonds to the paint molecules. Anyone have it? Anyone like it?

i want to debadge my trunk (the mitsubishi word and the lancer word but leave the triple diamond) and i was jw a few things...
first of all when i take the letters off is anything left behind on the trunk? if so what would be the best solution to remove it without messing up the paint job?
second are the letters reapliable later on or do i need a sticky substance to put on the back of the letter for a nice strong stick?

Does anyone know if you can change the bulbs on the dash, or if it's all LED's soldered to a circuit board?

I'm not a big fan of the red, so if I can (when I pick one up) I want to know if I'll have to dust off the soldering iron or not...

hi everybody! I Bought a 2008 lancer DE the basic model (i know it sucks) and cant help to notice that the headlight actually have 2 bulbs on each headlights but Only 2 of em works which is the Main one. Im wondering on How to make the other small headlights work? can u throw me a bone here?

im thinking about ordering the stage 2 arctic purple nokya lights... i know our cars have 55 watt lights but these say 70 something watts.. what will it do to my car, if anything, and do you recomend it?

I've been getting sick of my car looking like an RC car with it's super long antenna, so I decided to do something about it. The common option is the sharkfin antenna, but the $80 price tag was too much for something that's probably worth 80 cents. My only other option was a shorter antenna.

First I decided to remove the antenna altogether to see how it would look, but I didn't like the fact that the port where the antenna would normally screw in was exposed so I decided to fill it. Using a 5mm screw that I had from my HID kit (from MobileHID.com), I put a rubber plug on top of the screw and tried it out on the car. The turn out wasn't so bad, so I took it back home and made some small additions. I put some aluminum foil in the cap to close up any gaps between the screw and the plug, used all purpose superglue to hold it all nice and tight, and let it dry overnight (although it only takes about 5 minutes). Put it on this morning and snapped some pics. Excuse the quality, my Canon is dead and the only option I had was my cellphone.

Took me a grand total of 5 minutes to complete and was free of charge since I made it with stuff I had in the house. Tested it and all my AM and FM stations work crystal clear. Unfortunately, I don't have the Sirius service so I was only able to test the Weather Station... which also works beautifully.
