Hello guys,
here in austria i got the new lancer 08, but the the engine is not as strong as in the united states. the engine has 1.8L and 145 hp.
Now my question: I want the HKS Hi Power Exhaust on my car but i don´t believe that it will work, because this exhaust is for 2.0L+...
Has someone experiences with it?
thank you for advice

I no that any CAI that fits an 08 lancer will work on the new 2.4l 09's but was wondering if anyone made one that is specifically only for the 2.4l 09. Also in your guys opinions who makes the best CAI?

Hi All,
I've been reading a lot of posts about different performance parts currently on the market and I've come across a lot of mixed reviews. I've just started getting into modifying my car and I'm a little skeptical about bolt-on parts giving you "+10 hp" or "shave a whole second off your 1/4 mile" etc, etc.
So far, I have the RRM V2 intake and the RRM AB exhaust, and I have to say I'm satisfied with the way my car is now. I didn't expect much out of the parts so I guess that's why I'm so content.
Anyway, my main question is, is it possible to achieve 180ish whp with just bolt-on parts? What do you guys think? If it's nowhere near possible, then I'll keep my car as is and probably put the money/time to better use. Thanks for your input.

does anyone have any other websites for performance parts for an 08 lancer other then roadracemotorsports and works? If so please let me know; I am trying to explore all of my options before I make any final decisions. Also if anyone would like to give some input on what parts(like exhaust, intake, suspension, etc) have the best ride and sound and overall performance that would great as well. Thanks everyone.

I did some searching on this topic first and couldn't find anything.
I was running through the gears the other day in my wife's car and it seemed like the rev-limiter kicked in before I hit redline. Has anyone experienced this? Other manuals I have driven don't usually hit the rev limiter until 500 rpm past redline. Where do you guys shift at with manual trannies? What Rpm does our rev limiter kick in? Can the rev limiter be increased?
Thanks

okay i regret not waiting another month and getting the 09 gts but didnt know it was coming out with 2.4L...or getting it in m/t but stupid parents wanted to drive it too and mom doesnt know stickshift..anyway on to my question:
its prob already posted on other topics but i cant find them and ive been looking for an hour..
got a 08 gts cvt. always drive it in sports mode. planning on getting an injen cai or find a place that can bend piping with a injen or k&n filter. and adding a rrm v2 pulley
so im looking for an exhaust cause i know the stock one restricts a lot of airflow but i dont want it to be too loud...ive looked at the greddy exhaust and theyre pretty loud. dont wanna be too much of a ricer. looking for something like a stock-like look instead of a huge end that you can stick a baseball into.
any suggestions?
sidenote: any suggestions for the cai if cheaper/better? i live in the oc, california...so wondering if i should be concerned with winter rains?
thanks in advance

Hey guys...I installed the rrm v2 pulley a couple days ago...and it went fine. But i opened my hood yesterday to check out pulley and see that it was okay. Looks okay...but my engine was vibrating excessively. I dont know if its from pulley or what. When installing i lined the notch up on the pulley with the middle hash mark. The very left hash mark had a "10" above it...the middle had nothing ..and the right one had a "T"
above it...did I line it up to the right one? Please help

I have heard that a new intake can add up to around 10hp. I then saw on RRM that is drops the 0-60 a full second on the lancer. I have also heard that it can help mpg? Is this true and by how much. It also only says 2008 on there website so would this work/fit fine on a 09 GTS?

When I heard those words i nearly jumped out of my skin and I told him about the bad rep it has here with the CEL issue. He then told me that he has the version three intake has anyone heard about this version 3? I will keep in touch with him and let you guys know of any issues/perks.

Hi every one, I haven't been on here for a long time lol. Any ways I went to my local muffler shop and to see if they can help out with a good sound muffler and some HP too, but they told me not to do any thing to the muffler. Any ways I was looking at Greddy Ti-C Axleback Exhaust System and I couldn't fine any thing about how much HP will I get out that, maybe 4HP lol. I got the Injen Cold Air Intake I can feel the HP and Torque and it sounds nice. But I'm just hate looking at my shock muffler. But my ? is dose it give any HP or is it there for sound and looks.

Hi Guys,
After being dissapointed with the local muffler shops (they want to hack my current stock configuration in order to build an exhaust) i have decided to purchase an aftermarket exhaust and have been leaning towards the Greddy for sometime. My only issue is the cost of buying it and getting it sent over to Australia.
Just realised I missed a sale on them (been away the past few weeks), so can anyone suggest anywhere I can purchase one and ship it to Australia for a reasonable price.
Cheers,
Tim

Hello Everyone,
I own a 08' Lancer GTS. I love everything about this car, can anyone disagree. I got both the Sun & Sound Package as well as the Navigation Package. I could not put a single mod on my car and still be happy, but that would be boring. I'll be leaving posts with before and after pics, as well as ask for some opinions. Lets do some work!

Hey, I'm new here and I was wondering what i should upgrade on my new 2009 Lancer Gts M/t? My friend has a 2007 subaru impreza and my other friend has a 2006 v6 accord (coupe), both manual, and they have helped me find a car and are going to be helping me find and install parts, but i was just wondering the opinions of fellow(future fellow) lancer drivers
Their opinions are:
- first a drop in filter and an intake (possibly a cold air but my friend informed me of some cons to a CAI
- then a header/ exhaust system.
but im not very car savvy so i was just curious.

Alright so here's the deal. Fidanza have agreed a low price on their flywheel for the 2008 lancer if we can get 10 buyers.
The cost will be
$310 w/Free shippingWe HAVE to get at least 10 buyers for this to go through. Payment must be upfront via paypal or credit/debit card. Once we have 10 buyers the flywheels will take 3 weeks to make, and will ship out the 4th week.
I know a lot you are thinking "well if i had a clutch I'd get the flywheel"
Well guess what!? Clutches are on their way. In march Fidanza will be releasing their line of clutches for the 2008 Lancer. Also Spec Clutches are in the process of making a line of clutches for the 2008 Lancer.
So now you have no excuse not to buy the flywheel. You can buy it now at this low low price and either install it now, or hold on to it and install it along with your clutch when they are released.
If you want to be put on the list. Send an email to sales@speedcorps.com
Info on the flywheel is

G'Day Guys,
Does anyone in the USA or Aust have a TSUDO N1 Axle Back exhaust by any chance????
http://www.speed-element.com/servlet/Detail?no=166If so I would be very interested in hearing your input re noise levels, quality and fit, performance increase re better engine acceleration, better mileage etc.
Here in Aust we have a 90db (A) noise limit, lower than US states from what I've seen.
Looking to possibly get a new muffler and K&N filter to free up the engine breathing and response if possible.
Any feedback much appreciated, Thanks

Hey All!
I just found this forum and hope someone here can answer some questions. First some insight into my ride... I picked up a 09 lancer gt (2.0), and have added a short-ram intake and an axle back exhaust system. (Both from road-race). My next step is grabbing the exhaust header from road-race. I'm using road-race parts simply because they are offered at the dealership, and figured they wouldn't give me a problem if I came in for warranty work.
Anyway - after installing the axle-back, I took a closer look at my piping. I noticed 2 areas of the exhaust that are wider than the pipe, but don't resemble the catalytic converter at all. They just look like thicker piping added in. I'm thinking of adding a custom cat-back, and am not sure if I can/should take these pieces out, or leave them in.
I'm fairly new to tuning 4-bangers. I used to own an 81 Camaro, so adding power was as easy as adding 2 3" pipes straight from the exhaust headers.
btw - I can keep up to my buddies Acura rsx type s, and am hoping to pass him after doing the piping/header job. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I know this topic already came up but I haven't heard much about this for a while.
Some people, including myself, have had the issue (on manual transmissions Lancers) where 2nd gear doesn't pop in properly with the clutch pressed in.
To me it usually happens in high RPMs or when trying to shift from 1st to 2nd quickly.
I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with this yet, or had is serviced?
When I went in for service they test drove the car, I test drove the car with the service guy driving, then I drove the car after him... guess what? OF COURSE it would NOT happen at the dealership!
But it is a reoccurring problem on my 2008 GTS - I had 4 other people recreate that issue on my car.
I'm wondering if this is also happening on the 2009 Lancers?
