Just wondering what problems you all might have had with your Lancers so far? I've had the no start problem...still have it on occasion. The biggest ptoblem I have is the **** trunk leaks and the dealer sucks so it's up to me to fix. I can't seem to find it though, need to get a small person to lay in trunk so I can close it and hit it with water

anyone else have problems?

Hey guys, created this to see all your lancer's mods. Post some pics so I can get more ideas.
I've made some subtle changes to mine (non of which will make the car faster), still waiting to get the RRM intake, and a set of winter tires and umm.. maybe some tint.
mods:
1. 6000k HID Kit for low beams.
2. Clear license plate covers
3. White interior lights.
4. White License plate lights
5. Ralliart Sticker

My last car was a Civic with one way insurance $500/year.
Yesterday I walk in to Allstate and a Polish lady kills me with a $1560/year on a lancer full coverage. I almost jumped out of the chair.
I had to go and have couple

afterwards to cool off.
I never new insurance rates for mitsus are that high.
What are you paying guys?

Ok, so I've been a member of the forums for a few months now. Joined so I could do some homework on the new lancer. I have since test drove 7 cars and have decided that the new lancer beats them all. I have settled on getting the '09 Lancer GTS (yes with the 2.4 liter engine) in a manual transmission. Since I have been lurking the forums, I have noticed that there are some issues with the new lancer. I know this and accept this, so please don't rant here. I will list the problems I have come across and then ask a couple of questions.
Known problems: 1. Paint seems to chip very easily; 2. Trunk may be hard to close, and in using extra force it rubs the rear bumper.; 3. The relays with the CVT tranny go bad; 4. Sometimes the trunk leaks
I think those are all of the ones I found on here. Feel free to add to this list and keep me aware. Now for the question.
Does anyone know if these issues have been addressed for the '09 model year? The issue I'm worried most about is the paint. If it hasn't been addressed, what suggestions could you give for making the paint last a little longer, especially from road debris?
The trunk issues don't bother me so much, and if it leaks, I'll just fix it myself. I shouldn't have the tranny issue since I plan on getting the manual anyway.
Any and all help is appreciated, and as I said before, please don't rant about an issue in this thread, I'm here for info. Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone has, or is about to go into arbitration about the paint on the sides of their car getting "sandblasted" while driving. Any details you can share?
Dealership argued with Mitsu for 2 days over the cost to repaint the sides of my car but they refused to pay for it. Mitsubishi is taking the stance that it's caused by "road conditions".
Dealership told me they would repaint the skirts and touch up the doors for $125 but that it wouldn't do any good unless I put mudflaps on at the same time.
They claim that they can reverse the rear mud flaps that Mitsu sells so that they fit the front (I think that is BS) and that the set of four installed would be $140. Basically what their telling me is that if I want to have and keep paint on the sides of my car I'll have to cough up $265.
Oh yeah, and if a panel rusts out because I don't have this "maintenance" done then the corrosion warranty is worthless.
The streets and highways where I live would be considered average at the very least and above average when compared to other cities. We don't get a lot of snow, all of the roads are paved and there's no desset or beach nearby.
My question to Mitsubishi is "exactly what kind of road conditions was this car designed for?" If it can't take average road conditions without serious damage to the finish then that tells me there is a problem with their design.
I'm thinking arbitration right now but if there's enough of us with this problem then perhaps a class action law suit would get their attention.
Sorry....PO'd and ranting.

If you need help, have a question, or are looking for something specific, proper grammar and punctuation are essential. It's understandable that English is not the primary language for some of our users, but if you are able to use the internet in your country, then you are also able to use spell check, grammar, and punctuation to at least some extent.
Here are a few resources to help you better understand the English language, and how it works.

During full acceleration the steering may pull to one side, has this ever happened to anyone of you with your 2008 Lancer?
I want to hear from people with more experience driving this car since I'm new with cars motors and performance, and before taking the car to the dealer for an inspection.

hey i have a 08 gts cvt and my girlfriend has a 03 eclipse 2.4, we were on a long flat the other day and we decided to race. she isn't the best driver so we switched each race. what shocked me was that when i drove her car which has cold air intake short shifter cat back, i got a big lead at first but when we got going over 65 to 70 she would catch me and go by with my GTS. i was shocked but happy to see that my car had that. i only have the RRM short ram intake. anyway i am not a crazy driver and i know there are alot of people on here who give others shit when they say how they drive fast or race other cars. well i'm not crazy but you gotta have a little fun every now and then. so don't hate on me cause i did a quarter mile or so going fast a couple times.

Should I really go 7,500 miles on an oil change. I had it changed once already at 7,500 miles. Took it to the Dodge/Mistubishi dealership in my area. Only Dodge techs were there and suggested changing every 3,000 miles. Not sure why my info screen shows every 7,500 miles if they want it changed every 3,000. I mainly drive on state roads, maybe stopping at three red lights on the way to work. So I don't hit much traffic where I would start and stop alot. I keep it around 55-70mph on the way to work also.

Well this weekend i raced one of mikes friends with a tC, posted a video of it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXqmTeQwE0g. Whats funny is he only shows the video of him winning. We did 4 runs. 1st run he pulled ahead a little bit and called that off so i guess he won. 2nd one i tried starting off in 1st from a roll and ended up missing 2nd. 3rd was a 40 mph roll and i ended up winning. 4th was pretty much dead even we had to let off for traffic.
funny thing is is my GTS is basically stock, outside of a V1 RRM SRI
his mods include:
Short shifter
Cold Air Intake
Racing Headers
Full Catback exhaust
and yeah i lol at how he trys to brag, just thought id spread the humor

so i've had my 08 lancer es for about 3 weeks. and im debating weather or not to get an 09 gts? what are the differences in both and would it make any difference than what i have right now? and just curious but the gts comes with projectors or hid? not sure if they're one in the same (sorry im clueless when it comes to hid).
so what do you guys think? or would it be just like having another es just with a .4 bigger engine and hid's and paddle shifters? by the way i would get the cvt gts, im not big on racing or anything like that. im more of a looks kind of person. i just figured with everyone that has an es trying to turn it into a gts (me included) why not just get the real thing???
your thoughts?!?!??!?!
