Ok, heres something I am experiencing lately. My car has almost 1200 miles on it. Occasionaly after the car sitting I can not get it into 1st gear nor reverse. This morning on my way to work, I was at a light with the clutch out and the car in neutral. When the light turned green, I tried to put it into 1st gear but it wouldnt go.. I tried pumping the clutch to no avail. So my only resort was to rev the engine a bit, force it into gear while letting the clutch out. This is becoming more frequent. Is anyone having the same or simular issues?

okay so i have seen a bunch of cars lately with the headlight film, either yellow or hid blue, smoke is also really popular here in So. Maryland, i wanted to stand out and find some red tint and do them myself to match the paint on my red gts, but i havent had any luck so im resorting to just smoking the headlights, is it okay if i just use regular window tint? ive seen the places you can buy the headlight kit ect..but it says its made to protect your headlights...and im really not worried about that i just want the look, so my question is..would just regular window tint you can buy from an autoparts store work? i dont see why not but i figured id get some outside opinions/know how....ive never tinted windows or anything so any tips/tricks would be appreciated, thanks alot!

Hi again Mitsuers,
I've been hearing this annoying rattle coming from the back in the car while driving without music turned on or whenever i shut a door. I've managed to localize it today, it's coming from the left SRS compartment near the left backseat. I can easily reproduce it by slightly tapping on that airbag location, a very annoying sharp rattle noise. This isn't the case on the right side.
My question....anyone else has the same problem? Any idea how to fix it? does removing the SRS cap to check what's going on under it put a risk of making the airbag explode?
Thanks for your kind thoughts

What do you guys like better for winter tires?
Michelins X-Ice or Bridgestones Blizzak ws-50 or 60s
I live in upstate NY, winters here are crazy at times. I hear good things about Blizzaks and the ws-50's look beefy. The ws-60s dont look as beefy but okay compared to 50's I haven't heard anything really about the X-Ice though.

Just a question that might have an obvious answer.
Anyone who purchased a sun and sound package to go with their new 08 lancer...
Brouchure and Site says 9 speaker w/ 10inch sub.
Now I bought that, and I see 2 tweeters and a speaker on each door in the car and then the 10 inch sub in the trunk. Are the other 3 on the back behind the headrests?

So I was backing into my parking spot in school today and I was going slow and didn't realize I was so close to the wall and then I heard like a crunch, and of course, I kind of hit the wall a little bit, lol.
My bumper got a few scratches/chips.
Anyway, most of the scratches rubbed off from what i saw, and there was only a little dirt.
But there seem to be a few chips that aren't that deep that I definitely want to get rid of....
So do any of you have any suggestions on how I should get rid of them, or what kind of material/chemical I should use to get rid of them?
Help is appreciated, thanks

Hi...just had the dealer install the bluetooth on my '08 lancer. My g/f was driving on the freeway, in the lancer, I was in my truck, and I called her and could barely understand her. There is a lot of road noice and it is actually hard to understand her voice. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you know of any tips to make it better. Should I take it back to the dealer? Thanks for your help

Hi,
I've never bought anything from RRM and never heard of them before. I was just wondering how good their products are. I always want the best parts for my car so I'm very picky about my mods. I don't care about the price that much (ofcourse I won't buy something extremely expensive..). I'm thinking of a cold air intake and an exhaust system. Do you think I should buy them from RRM, or wait for a product from brands like K&N, Injen for the intake, and brands like Remus, Supersprint, Borla for the exhaust? What is RRM's quality compared to these brands?
Thank you.

So I am thinking about doing tints for my 2008 Lancer GTS, Graphite Grey.
A few of my friends have the tints and I have been reading around as to which it says tints greatly reduce visibility in some cases.
So I am wondering what percent to get my tints; I was thinking about 25%...but I'm unsure.
Who has had their windows tinted here?
If so, please tell me what color your car was, what percent tint you got, roughly how much you payed, and how the visibility is with the tints, especially during the night time.
Any information is appreciated, thanks.

So the other day I noticed after turning on my car, that when I apply the brake there is a weird clicking noise that can be heard coming from the transmission/gear box.
I have a CVT GTS, and I never noticed this noise, but now it happens everytime....when I apply the brake in order to shift from park to drive or reverse I can hear this weird clicking noise coming from where the shifter is.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm going to bring it to my dealer soon but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
One of my friends said that it might be the little safety thing that makes it so you must apply the brake in order to shift into a different gear might be loose and is what is making the noise...but I'm not sure.

I was at the dealer today to find out what the status is on the mistubishi manufactured cold air intake.
It's supposed to be available sometime this month, the approximate price range for the parts and install is $450 CDN.
Now RRM already released at ram air intake, that's $179 US for the parts.
I'm yet to find out what Platinum Mistubishi located in Calgary, AB - Canada has to offer, but fromw what I've heard they got some ram air that just came out (not sure if it's simialr or the same as the RRM but I'll find out soon).
What do you guys thing is better to drop in, cold air or ram air?
From what I've heard ram air is more benifitial to put in where there are cold winters, and here we go down to -40 celcius, so pretty chilly.
On the other hand, to my understanding, the ram air has a shorter tube so and is closer the engine which potentially can heat up itself and feede in hot air into the engine.
Any thoughts, comments, ideas? I'm just starting to get into mods and tuning (now that I have a car that's at least worthy). Let me know.

So I finally have them done. I went with Kenwood. I did notice that the tweeter wires come directly off of the door speaker so I used the high pass crossover that came with the kit. There's more than enough space to mount everything and I just modified the brackets that came with the kit for a subtle mounting. I didn't cut a hole in the tweeter housing or anything. Sound quality has improved greatly and I don't need to have the volume in the high 30's anymore. If you can find quality tweeters for cheap I suggest doing this upgrade.
-tweeters
-high pass filter/crossover
-butt connectors
-heat shrink
-male-female speaker connections (components can be removed individually)
-3M heavy duty mounting tape (you can epoxy but thats more permanent)
-free time (2 hours)
I don't know about the GTS but theres only three screws holding the door panel on and then just pull off starting at a corner working your way around the door. Be carefull of the electrical connections behind the panel. There are two screws holding the door handle and lock on and two electrical connectors (passenger side) three electrical connectors (drivers side) then the panel is completely off.
Have fun

I just bought a DE two weeks ago, but now that I think of it I kind of want a GTS, for all of its options and such.
I'm financing the DE I have, but would it be worth making the move over to the higher trim? Or is my swapping plan absolutely stupid?
Let me know your take on this.
Thanks.

i have heard of some people having trouble with custom made intakes because of various problems with the Mass air flow sensor and im trying to avoid any problems like that, so my question is if i go to say..autozone and build my intake with parts they have in the store will i have to modify the parts for the MAF? if so what kind of a mod would be needed? if it comes down to it i will wait till i have the money for the rrm intake, but if theres anyway i can do it myself and save money that would be my choice...thanks all opinions/knowledge on the topic is welcome and appreciated!!

Has anyone put the ram air and or exhaust in their vehicle yet.
I just spoke to a parts guy at Platinum Mitsubishi (www.mitsu.ca) who told me that they ordered a couple of the RRM ram air intakes, and he had nothing good to say about it, he said it's a pile of crap and they're not ordering them anymore. Basically specifying that it sits way too close to the engine, it pulls in a bunch of hot air, and it doesn't even act as a short ram. He said I should hold back and not even bother with this part.
Also apparently the exhaust mounts are not designed properly, so in order the get that thing on it requires a lot of modifications.
Can anyone follow up on that? What have you heard or experienced?

Guys,
Seems the Lancer 2008 (codename Galant Fortis in Japan) is being offered with a 4WD option. They also have a leather interior option. Will this be ONLY in Japan? or will this be also offered on the worldwide Lancers soon??
IF so i would have waited for the all wheel drive version instead of getting the 08Lancer now.... i am sooo pissed at the moment
