If you need help, have a question, or are looking for something specific, proper grammar and punctuation are essential. It's understandable that English is not the primary language for some of our users, but if you are able to use the internet in your country, then you are also able to use spell check, grammar, and punctuation to at least some extent.
Here are a few resources to help you better understand the English language, and how it works.
How to use punctuation correctly:
http://www.wikihow.com/Use-English-Punctuation-CorrectlyHow to Spell Commonly Misspelled Words:

How to Avoid Acting Like an Idiot on the Internet: (Note:Rule #5)
http://www.wikihow.com/Avoid-Acting-Like-a...on-the-InternetIf these helpful links simply aren't enough, there are numerous places on the internet to download a spell check program. That, or you could use Firefox as your internet browser while using our forums. Firefox will underline any word you may spell wrong, allowing you to simply right click your mouse to find the appropriate spelling.
Don't be lazy, proofread your post before submitting, and fix any errors you see.

A quick tip for anyone trying to fix a p0456 DTC on an 02 Lancer. I found a cracked check valve attached to the top rear of the gas tank. I was able to remove the check valve without having to drop the fuel tank by loosening the 2 bolts that hold up the front of the tank and removing the 3 bolts from the rear, then by using a mirror I was able remove the check valve. It was cracked at the point where it attaches to the tank. First confirm that the leak is there by removing the 2 bottom hoses on the front of the EVAP canister, plug the larger hose and blow into the smaller hose, you should hear the leak above the gas tank. Exopy work fine to plug the crack on the check valve.

Ok I have a problem on my 06 lancer es that is bugging the crap out of me!!! About a week ago I was driving home from work and had to go down a flooded street that was almost to the bottom of my doors, anyways now everytime the engine starts, I let off the clutch or let off the gas it has a little squeek. It sounds like its coming from the cabin under the dash but i cant really tell while im driving. If you guys have any ideas of what it could be please let me know before this thing drives me insane!!!!

When installing the front and rear strut bars, can I simply unscrew the 6 front screws (3 per side) and the 4 rear screws (2 per side) and install each strut? or is there some special torque that each screw has to be tightened at after I install the strut bar and am tightening the screws?
thank you

My lancer is my 2nd Mitsubishi, 1st was a Mirage. I did my own Timing belt 4 times over its lifespan with out any problems. My 03 Lancer is ready for it now.. Am I in for basicly the same experiance, or should I be prepared for a bigger challange? The biggest difference I can see is the engine is mounted 180 from the Mirage but generally looks the same. My dealer quoted me nearly 600.00 for the job. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Any direction to online manuals would be a plus!!!! Thanks Ed

Hello all,
I am new to this forum. I have a 2004 Lancer ES with Auto. I bought this car used and to date I have 119,000 miles logged on this car. I noticed the window sticker said 26 city and 29 hwy. I have been running Mobil 1 extended use oil and changing it at roughly 6500 to 7500 miles, I still have the stock steel wheels and the tires are aired 27psi in front and 30psi in rear. I drive back and forth from St. Louis MO. to Indianapolis IN, weekly more recently every other week. On these highway trips I have been averaging 32 to 34 mpg's at an average speed of 75. I have been trying to keep the tach at 3200. Does anybody out there know if the after market rims at different heights 15", 16", 17"... would help or hinder. If lowering would help?? I really don't want to put more rubber on the road so my thinking is the tire width is fine. I would like to make the somewhat drab appearance look a little nicer. I do like the car it is really hard to keep the tach at 3200. Any suggestion as well as all advice is welcome.

Hi, i have an 06 Lancer ES, standard trans with 77,000 miles. So far the car has been great with no problems up until a few weeks ago. The problem is at low rpm's the car has begun to stutter/hesitate, usually going from 1st to 2nd gear, but has begun to get worse. I changed thew plugs at 60,000 miles along with the timing belt. Not really sure how to go about fixing, any help would be greatly appreciated

Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at
TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly.
We're already reporting a result for the 2008, but haven't enough owners signed up for earlier years.
Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.
To encourage participation, panel members receive full access to the results for free.
For the details, and to sign up to help out:

I was driving today and I think my timing belt broke. It's late so I cant take it to a shop until tomorrow, so I've been told that it might be the timing belt. Does that mean my engine blew? 2003 Lancer, 4G94 engine. I really hope not.
Think it blew?

Ok I have a Car. Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2003, I bought it from a dealership, but I guess the owner lost the remote, I tried the programming instructions that are on google and every site I can think of. But they don't work. The remote works just fine I know this because to program it my car is supposed to lock and unlock and then there is more steps but that doesn't even happen! my cig lighter fuse is blown. Could that be the problem? i've checked all other fuses and everything is fine. There empty fuse slots I've checked the manual but it doesn't say anything about key less entry. All models come with it as i have experienced. Does anyone know if I need a Fuse that is not in the slots? please let me know and thank you so much!
Also on my owners manual, Is there supposed to be a Fuse for Keyless Entry? Because I can't find it in the book.
Anyone know how I can install it? If my car even has it??
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
on my 1997 Lancer screen wash pump is not working. It stopped working suddenly. I checked wires near water pump pins, there is no electricity while screen wash's switch is pressed. The question is what should I check? If there is faulty switch or some relay? Any ideas? Thanks!

Think I blew my timing belt on my 03 Lancer. It's an interference engine, so does this mean I definitely popped a valve or two? What are the chances I got lucky and just need a new belt? It's at the shop right now and I'm waiting to hear back, but I want to know what I'm in for.

ok heres the code i got when i got my engine scanned: PO421.
The guy there said its my cat not warming up quick enough because im not using a high enough octane gas. but for a while i was using premium and it was still there quite often but would go off every once in a blue moon.
Now heres what the ticket says:
The PCM has determined that the warm up catalyst efficiency for bank 1 is below threshold for the current engine operatin condition. (Bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank)
Code:PO421
Definition: Catalyst efficiency low-bank 1
Explanation: The oxygen sensors monitor the catalytic converters ability to store oxygen.
Probable Causes:
1. Catalytic Converter defective (Failure possibly due to #2, 3, 4)
2. Engine misfire or running condition.
3. Large vacuum leak
4. Engine oil leakage into exhaust- vavle guide seals, piston rings.
My dad is suggesting to just buy a new o2 sensor and c what happens. if i do that should i just go and buy an air/fuel gauge so i can see how my engine is running.
Or should i just go and buy a new "honeycomb" as the tech. put it which would cost like 300 or so bux. then he advised to just go to a muffler shop and get them to put on a universal one that would just be like 100 or so bux.
N e suggestions would be very much appriciated. Thank you.

so i emailed the haynes Manual website to see if they even made a book for the ES. well, not right now, here's what i was sent back:
QUOTE
Dear Sir:
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate all correspondence from our customers, since it helps us produce the finest do-it-yourself manuals available.
Because of the extensive time and cost necessary to produce one of our manuals, it is not financially feasible to produce a manual for every model; we must base our decision on vehicle sales volume and demand. Unfortunately, your vehicle model has not yet met the sales threshold or demand necessary for us to begin work on a manual. We hope we will be able to produce a manual for your vehicle in the future, and we will do so as soon as it is feasible.
Again, thank you for your interest in Haynes automotive/motorcycle manuals!
Best regards,
Technical Research

Hi all, I have an Eagle Talon with (supposedly) an evo III engine/transmission swap in it. I'm a little confused because I thought all evos were manufactured with FMIC's. The previous owner of the car included some pictures of the swapped engine, which clearly displayed a top-mount intercooler on an engine whose valve cover reads Mistubishi DOHC 16 Valve. Thoughts?
EDIT: Am I looking at an RVR engine?

Hi everyone,
I'm new here, hoping to get some help on replacing the tie rods on my 2003 Lancer OZ Rally.
I'm replacing both inner and outer tie rods on both sides and I'm stuck on trying to remove the rubber boot from the inner tie rod. There appear to be 2 clamps, one on each side of the boot. The clamp on the front was easily removed since I can actually reach it, but it is rather difficult to reach the inner clamp.
It's rather frustrating since most cars have easy access to both clamps and remove the rubber boot in seconds. My question is has anyone here ever come across this problem or know what to do here?
From the looks of it, I will probably give up and just cut/tear the rubber off and buy a new one to use with my new tie rods :S
Any help or advice (other than taking it to a mechanic) would be greatly appreciated ^_^

This is the world's most expensive and fastest production car ever made. Dedicated to the
Bugatti Atlantique 57S from the 1930's, with a proven top speed of over 400 km/h,
Sang Noir's most obvious features is an all-black exterior featuring exposed carbon fibre sections. Sang Noir translates to 'Black Blood' a rather ominous and foreboding name for your new multi-million dollar
super car. Other features specific to the Sang Noir include new alloy wheels, aluminium side mirrors and grille surround, black-out headlights and a tan leather and Alcantara interior. The car
boasts 1001hp and got a top speed of 407km/h.
