Hi,
My 2002 lancer is using the left front tire in the outside (dangerously). I brought the car in to do the alignment. They told me they did the alignment as much as they could but they also told me that they can't fix the problem all the way without installing a caster camber kit. So before I pay them 200$ to do so I would like to know is they are BSing me or if the lancer really need that to fix my problem.

i just can't get my mind of this beat up old lancer i always see everytime i pass by the toyota dealership near our place... maybe the owner works as one of them toyota mechanics... am not sure... but the car is really something... yeah i know, it's all beat up and most (if not all) of its body is already coated in rust... but the thing is, it's got potential! if i have the money now, i'd even buy it for Php25,000 (roughly US$580) from the owner and turn it into a race car! just want to bring back the good old days when the lancer dominated every car in the rally scene... sigh...

I have an automatic Mitsubishi Lancer ES, and been searching everywhere for a manual of some sort. I have been wanting to do minor tune-ups on my car myself to save some cash, but I cannot find any manual for it that doesn't feel like a ripoff.
I've searched online and went to Autozone. The best I could find is a short description on how to change oil. Can anyone help me out?

My 2003 Lancer is squeeling, the engine is only a couple years old. It only squeels when it is cold or damp. It seems to happen when I shift into reverse, and sometimes into drive. I took it in but they couldn't find anything wrong...
Has anyone else heard of this happening??

Lancer Velocity MY07 Issues
Hi,
I bought a new lancer velocity off the showroom floor nearly a year ago.
1. From new the engine has missed and surged while feathering the throttle and slightly accelerating. It happens at speed on an expressway but is most noticeable idling around a car park.
2. The foot brake peddle sinks under constant low foot pressure.
3. The gearbox is very rough. It is difficult to get a clean change, particularly up and down through 2nd gear. The shift mechanism itself is clunky and i can feel the gears meshing through the stick and its often audible.
I brought these issues up with the Mitsubishi service centre at the 1500 km inspection and was told the car was operating normally.
I took it to another Mitsubishi service centre at about 6,000 kms and was told the same but that it might improve after the first 15,000 km service when they change the oil.
Its comming up to 14,000 km and I'm thinking I'll just get rid of it.
Has anyone else had these problems and were they rectified?

My ‘93 lancer glxi m/t is experiencing hesitation at low speed (10kph) / low rpm (1,000-2,000rpm) / low gear (1st-2nd gear), SPECIALLY when I have just released the clutch after shifting to 1st/2nd gear. I suspect an electrical problem.
I went to Diamond Motors and had my car electronics checked via a diagnostic device they called MUT: no problem found.
I removed sparkplugs 1 by 1 and checked their condition: good, clean burn though sparkplug #3 had more carbon deposit as compared to the other sparkplugs. So I tried replacing the high tension wires: problem solved and car was running flawlessly!
But after a few weeks, hesitation is back.
Btw, the servo kit for electronic fuel injection had already been replaced 5 years ago by Diamond Motors. And Diamond has performed tune-up including replacement of sparkplugs prior to my replacing the high-tension wires. Clutch parts have never been replaced.
Problem persists. Any comments or suggestions?

Hi guys,
I got a price from Mitsubishi for a set of piston ring plus oil rings ans seals...
I have the piston rings, but want to try get different prices for oil rings and seals, would anyone know or have a site or the part number i can search with please?
It's for a 4g92 Gen 1, Mitsubishi lancer engine. 1.6l
just trying to save a few pennies!

hi i have an 02 lancer oz, there was two error codes when i had it checked out. one was for cat converter and the other one was for the knock sensor. after the knock sensor was replaced i noticed an improvement in performance. it used to have lack of power but not anymore. i decided just to drive my car while waiting for the cat converter to come to the shop and then i noticed there's a little bit of ticking sound when i accelerated. what could be the problem to this? could it be the cat converter or something else?
also what could be the culprit to the cat converter failing? could it be the knock sensor?

I´ve been wandering if the Mitsubishi Lancer Gl, 1300cc have an automatic Overdrive on its gear when it reach 65mph or more... Im asking this because it doen´t had an O/D button, and a local mechanic (not very skilfult for what I heard) is telling me I need to change this part.

Hey guys
So I've been looking into the lancer and I'm really down to get one...(used)
Except there's one huge problem...
I CANT FIND ANY!!!
I live in Long Beach and I've been searching for a long time already...being ushered into various dealers after being told that they had a used lancer and only to find that they "just sold it" but they're willing to "give me a good price on a new one."
I've wasted so much time over this because of these dealers.
Does ANYONE have any suggestions?
Where could I find a nice used lancer (hopefully oz rally) around my area?
I'm almost going to give up

Hi all,
I'm on vacation in the Ft. Lauderdale area staying with my daughter. She drives a 2004 Lancer. Both of the brake lights are out but the tail lights seem to be working. I'd like to check the bulbs but can't seem to figure out exactly how to get to them to get them out. HELP!!! I'm leaving in a couple of days and would like to get them done.

so here it goes.....finally got my car back about two weeks ago from the shop, new clutch, flywheel, turbo finally got tuned right and so did my aem stand alone. i was finally able to boost over 8 psi safely, after it was tuned i was at 12 psi. so since the shop dyno tuned it i was happy and excited since the weather here in chicago finally let up. i was on my way to another shop to get the suspension checked on, i had springs in and i was using stock struts so i decided i was going to get the tokicos put in. anyway i was sitting at a stop slight minding my own buisness when WHACK!!!!!some lady rear ends me!she was going 70 in a 40 and apparently didnt see me stopped!how stupid was that?!!!so i ended up being taken to the hospital and the car was towed, i get the car moved to a body shop near by so i when went there to take a look, someone already tried to take my SAFC II but couldnt since the retard that tried couldnt disconnect the harness!thank god! they also tried to take my gauges and turbo timer.how **** is that?im surprised they didnt try to take my in dash but im sure they were looking to take it had the car been stored at the lot for a lot longer. the damage was so bad, she ended up crushing my subs and amp in the trunk. So her insurance company declare my car totaled since the estimate to repair was 8500 at 95 percent of the work done and that was using used or salvaged parts, sucks!they didnt even pay for the after market stuff (which of course is typical)....so i took all my gauges out and whatever else i can take off the car at the time.so when i popped the hood and started to unbolt my kit the guy comes out and says "you cant do that,you have to leave what came with the car" and i was like the turbo didnt come with the car! so imma take it and he said that i couldnt since i had to leave a motors worth.....so i only did the humane thing i could before the **** sold my turbo or took it....cranked up the boost and popped the motor...i never thought i would have to do that to her....but i was able to get my intercooler core and what ever else that was obviously not included with the car.so long story short i just lost out on thousands of dollars cause some BI**H couldnt pay attention while driving.i really wanted my cat back exhaust since i had it imported from the philippines,couldnt take that either....
if anyone is interested in gauges lemme know and we can talk about the pricing and what kinda gauges i have since i had six of em..boost,egt,afr,oil press,fuel press,water temp, i also have a monster tach with shift light,tenzo r full carbon fiber gt spec wing (mounts were left on the cars trunk since i couldnt get them off.mounts are 54.99 from apr) and other stuff i am yet to look at, i also have 9007 HID bulbs and wiring harness so all you will need would be the ballast since im reusing my ballasts for the new car....i just got a WRX...but still i miss my oz a lot!!!turbo kits are still available from revive importz and so is the HID KIT which is $200 shipped with one year warranty so let em know, it was their kit i was using awesome at 7 psi but way better at 12!just look for their thread..also if anyone is interested in the parts i listed pm me. ill look at my other stuff too what ever else i have from the lancer.

It looks like a really odd question but I've been searching on-line for a couple of days already and didn't find anything. All I need is simply a rear passenger side splash shield for my 2003 Lancer ES. I could easily find front ones (both for driver and passenger sides) for about $17 but could never find rear ones. Tried various on-line stores including Ebay but to no luck =(
Anybody knows where to get a rear passenger side splash shield?

guyz i have 05 lancer auto that i just wrecked yesterday.. very sad.. air bags went off and stuff.. but i also own a 1998 mirage if the engine in lancer is ok .. u think i can swap it on 98 mirage? with tranny and every thing? what would i have to do exactly.. both are automatic.. will it be easy? hard? ( does the engine look ok in pic radiator is agasint it.. but still .. do u all think?? it only has 57000 miles on it ) Urgent =( thanks..

I'm trying to help out a friend who knows nothing about cars. They weren't able to describe the ignition system very well, so I'll go ahead and ask here...
Does the ignition on the 4G69 engine (it's a 2004 Lancer) feature an ignition coil for each cylinder?

So, as i did when i was looking into getting a mkiv supra, id like to know exactly what im paying for before i spend the money. At this stage im looking at getting an early 2000 model lancer, i just wanted to know the exact differences in the following models -
all of the following are mitsu lancers; i should also mention that im looking exclusively for a manual coupe
2000 CE2 GLXi
2001 CE2 MR
2003 CE2 MYO2.5 (2.0, 3.0? may have read that somewhere? not sure if it exists lol)
or alternatively if there is a better early 2000 model that one can pick up for a lazy 8-12k 2nd hand that iv missed
So yeah, just curious as to what the differences are between each model, both mechanically and aesthetically and which one would a person with more knowledge of the lancer series would go for and why. Thanks for any help in advance, and i look forward to posting some pics of my new baby in the forums in the next few weeks

Hey All,
This is my first post at the forum, but i've been around reading for quite a while.
Anyway, i've got a 2007 Lancer ES.
I want to do a lot of stuff to my car, eg Body Kit, Lower it, low profile tyes, rims, exhaust, cold air intake, but i dont exactly have the money at the moment, so i'm starting on the small things.
I'm thinking of putting a short shifter in my lancer. I honestly don't know much about cars - so if it sounds stupid please go easy on me.
Has anyone done it? Is it worth it? and where would i get it done?

HI,
Today I noticed an erratic noise at idling on my 2002 lancer. I don't know if it is the idling itself or something else. It is cyclic with the idling. And It sounds like 3 normal and one rattle. Like - - - brrr (Sorry I'm not really good at explaining noises with words ;-) ) Also It sounds like its coming more from the left side of the engine.
Oh also It feels like when the noise occurs the car/engine shakes.
Any Idea ?

hi,
i have a lancer 2007.
i need to know when should my radiator fan work. i have 2 fans in my car.
i noticed that they both work as soon as i open the air condition.but when it is off they don't work,do they work only in high temperature.the coolant and motor oil levels are both good. i am worried that they may be something wrong in the thermostat.
the temperature gauge indicator is in the normal place (middle of the range)

Hey everyone im new to the forum and just have a question or 2.
I have a 2003 Lancer OZ Rally automatic..ya i know auto..hahaha,
Well my question is how difficult it would be to swap out the auto tranny and put in a manual 5 speed tranny from another lancer of the same type. I know i would need the tranny, wiring harness, ecu, and the other parts. If this was done would it affect any of the sensors.
I know most people would just say save up and buy a used evo but i just wanted to know if it can be done and how easy. I appriciate any help or advice you guys can give me. Thank you

heres the story.... well i was in the passenger seat drunk as hell after this party...so i let my friend drive me back to his... while driving home my friend said grab a better cd and chuck it in... so i took out the cd and put a new one in .... or so i thought i did this three times... theres a small gap on the top of the cd player that only just could fit a cd into it... and i managed to do it seemlessly with out vision lol....
neways the next morin after sobering up... i managed to pull the dash off to take the cd player out... to get the cds out... neways when doing this i found a auxillary cord curled up at the back.... so i grabed an extension and wired it up into the ashtray... just so u couldent see it when not in use....
i was amazed.... what was a $50 EXTRA was a quick and easy job..
also i adjusted the cd player up so there wont be any more lost CDs...

lol
also it sounds really guud... beats the guud ol FM transmitter...

Hi there,
anyone have any idea what the degrees BTDC is for my 4G15 engine ('91 lancer CB carbi)? I've been having bad pinging mid-throttle under any kind of load, general gutlessness and a very notable on-cam step up in power after about 2/3rds revs (no tacho sadly).
I checked the timing (couldn't isolate the ignition timing sensor screwed to the firewall though) and it came in at 9deg BTDC. I then changed this to 3-4 deg, which has cured the pinging, muted the on-cam effect and makes the engine feel a bit more powerful. BUT now my shift points have changed from 30/45/65kph for 2nd to 3rd/3>4/4>5th to around 40/55/70. Is this normal? My Haynes manual doesn't give a BTDC value and refers me to my car emissions control label which for the life of my I can't find.
I'm going to retard it a bit to 5-6 deg BTDC and see what happens. I guess my sweet spot should be just before it starts pinging again, any advice?

Hey fellow Lancer OZ owners.. i just wanted to know if anyones has ever had a turbo put in and how much it is.. also how much will it be to get foged pistons and connectin rod.. just wanna know labor.. i would do it myself but i want it to be done right, i know people that know how to do it but its seems like i alway get parts that dont fit.. so just wonding about labor cosr thanks people
