Hi Guys
I bought the 08 Lance ES, I found the audio quality to be really poor.
I'm planning to get some decent system which plays well without distortion at high volume and pumps some quality bass.
Any suggestions? around using the same head unit but changing speakers and etc.
I dont want to change the way the dash board looks like at the moment, unless there are no options.
Please let me know
Harish

Alright im getting an AMP on ebay for my 98 eclipse. Im deciding between JL Audio 300-4 (75 W RMS x 4 @ 4 ohm) or a Infinity 7541a (discontinued) (111 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (139 watts x 4 at 2 ohms) . The JL is more expensive, im not quite sure why, whether its the name, how new it is, or whatever. but i could use some advice.
speakers dont matter, im buying them after i get amp based on what amp i get.

So I installed an xbox in my car loaded with xbmc and such so that I could basically have a cool media center. I finally got it all put together today and I've got lots of noise. The fist thing I noticed was that my video had some noise to it, other than that all of my car speakers have a whine, and I turn on my amp, my sub has like a pulsing noise to it. I've got a 400w inverter mounted under the drivers seat for just the xbox, and the xbox is in the trunk, somewhat close to the amp, but moving it away, I still seemed to have the noise. My xbox power and rca are ran up through the middle, and my power is run down the driver side, and amp rca on the passenger. The video improves a bit, and audio a bit without the amp on but still, how can I get around all the interference?

Hello,
I would like to modify my original Mitsubishi radio of my L200 Triton (2008) with a AUX input, but need the contacts for the connector housing or the AUX Input Cable complete, but where can get in Thailand ?
My Mitsubishi dealer in Phuket called the headoffice in Bangkok already, but they told him it would not be available in Thailand.
Someone have an idea how can get the cable or better only the contacts for the connector housing only ?
Alex

I installed AutoCommand remote start model 25622 in my 04 Galant GTS.
This is the type which uses factory remote. It went pretty easy except remote start activation. Remote works when I touch the ground with remote start wire.
It needs negative pulse to activate. I would like to use unlock (2x). I have no idea where to look for the actual signal from remote.
Does anybody have an idea what should I do?
Thanks in advance.

I have several questions about replacing the stock speakers in my car so I am just going to create a numerical list, but first is a little information about my car.
CAR/MISC INFO-2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS
-After I bought the car I found that the stock amp underneath the passenger seat was missing so I currently do not have any amp installed
-My head unit is an aftermarket Alpine CDE-9843, specs can be found here:
Alpine CDE-9843-I listen mostly to hip hop and R&B
-I want this to be a permanent fix and would prefer it to be done right the first time
-Budget max is $450
-I am an amateur car audio enthusiast so please keep it simple for me
-I very much appreciate all suggestions and help offered
QUESTIONS1. I am considering purchasing four 6 1/2" full range speakers between Pioneer Premier and Alpine type R series, but am willing to spend more money for better quality. What are the pros and cons of these two?
2.What is the max RMS power range should I get out of my head units built in amplifier? The website listed above lists two separate built in amplifier RMS power ranges and I am confused as to the reason.
3. Do I need or is it practical to buy an aftermarket amp and if so what specs/brand name should I look for? I.E. 2 channel, multi channel, 1000 watts, 2000 watts, etc.
4. Do I need to buy an installation kit, wiring or any other accessories?
5. Should I disconnect the speaker that is on the center of the dashboard?
6. Are speakers easy to self install? I have little experience with electrical wiring and installation but have been told is fairly simple.
Once again I very much appreciate all the help that can be given to me so I can make an educated financial decision.

So I'm finding out that I have limited options for English speaking GPS nav units with Japanese maps.
I already have an in dash Japanese navi unit. The problem is that everything is in Japanese (go figure). Nissan sells an English unit, but it's about $2500 which is almost as much as I paid for the van. However, you can get used navigation boxes (look like DVD players) without the screen and control head for a lot less.
The question is, has anyone ever hooked up a Nissan box to their Mitsubishi screen and control head? How insanely hard would this be?

I have an '02 Eclipse GS (auto, 4 cylinder, not that I think it matters) and I have several issues with the locks. First, when I try to use the remote, it won't always unlock. I'll click to unlock it, hear it unlock, then when the door is just about to leave the latch, it locks again. So I end up with a partially closed door. Sometimes I have to unlock it 3 or 4 times just to get it to open. Second, Just today as I was driving, the doors kept trying to lock themselves. I tried calling a dealer, but they want to charge $90 just to look at it. Hss anyone had this problem and does anyone know a cheaper way to fix it?
P.s. The guy in the service department says that my problems are mostly likely NOT due to a dead/dying battery in the remote. But I may change it anyways.

ok, i was working on an 03 Lancer with stock radio. I replaced the rear deck speakers and they seemed to work fine. However a few hours later the stock radio appeared to have died.
i pulled the radio fuse in the yellow clip under the hood and it seemed fine, however, when i got back in the car, the radio had spit my CD out and worked again, but again, a little while later, it no longer works.
any ideas as to what the cause of this may be?
also, this system has a sub and amp in the trunk, and there were 2 wires coming from the sub or amp (not sure) that i left OFF for the time being (the sub currently does not work without these 2 wires attached to the rear speaker) could this have something to do with it? i am not the one who installed the sub/amp so im not sure what those extra 2 wires on one of the rear speakers is.
also, can anyone quickly tell me what the rear speaker wires (colors for + and -) are so i can double check to make sure i didnt reverse them? maybe that would cause this problem?

At first when I had a problem with the 1997 Mitsubishi Diamante the CoDe display came on. I entered wrong codes and saw the "OFF: show up as well. I was even able to leave the ignition on and CoDe eventually appeared again. NOW THAT I GOT THE CODE FROM M-F, I can't get anything to read on the display to enter the code. I verified power IS going to the radio. I measure 12+ Volts on the Blue wire and the red/black wire which I believe is what provides power. Fuses are good.
DO you know if the radio just powers off and will not power on after TOO MANY INVALID CODE entries?
IS there a way to get the radio to reset? Iv'e already done things like leave on in ACC for 15 min. Iv'e also pulled the whole radio out overnight. And I've left the Battery disconnected for a couple hours. Do you have any idea what's going on or how to fix this problem?
Any answer is worth trying here. I would like to avoid buying a new radio.
Thanks a million for the radio code!
RADIO WAS WORKING UNTIL BATTERY DIED FOR TOO LONG. WHEN CHARGED up CODE did Initially show up...

I just bought a new Sony Xplod stereo for my 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer. My old system was an Infinity, which from my understanding uses it's own amp (under the driver seat) and would not work with the Sony. So the techs had to run new wiring to each speaker (the speakers and sub woofers are also Infinity). I'm assuming they disconnected the infinity amp...The sound quality was greatly diminished because the speakers are only running off the built-in amp on the Sony head unit. I can barely get the volume past 15 without the back speakers crackling and sounding distorted. The bass from the back speakers and sub woofer was definitely better on the factory system. I was wondering if it's possible to install an aftermarket amp to get the quality back. I have 4 speakers in the front, 2 in the back, and 1 sub woofer in the trunk. What would be my best option? I really know nothing about car audio but my new Sony Head unit info is:
Power Output: 17 Watts RMS X 4 at 4 Ohms <1% THD+N
SN Ratio: 82 dBA (reference 1 Watt into 4 Ohms)
I would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance.

I was thinking about getting a new alarm with remote start for my 95 GS 5-speed, and have found a couple that are made specifically for manual transmission cars, with Ultra Start, and CompuStar being two of them.
CompuStar's are WAY expensive, but I have found an Ultra Start 4366m for $150.
Has anybody had any experience with Ultra Start? Are they any good?

All of you that have struggled getting your MMCS to work properly in English visit the website below. There has been significat progress over the past couple months in software and owner manual information regarding these units. I urge anyone who wants to find a solution to thier Sat/Nav/TV problem join the site and contribute to the information pool.
Skip & marvin have done a wonderful job in setting-up and administating this site all on thier own behalf. They should be congradulated for thier efforts.

I have a 2001 Montero Sport w/ Infinity Sound system.
Was listening to radio on the way to work. 8 hours later started up the MS and no sound....radio or cd. Head unit has power, all fuses OK...just can't figure out what's up. I wanted to replace the factory head unit (due to their quality), so I dropped in a JVC unit and made sure all connections were correct. Still no sound after (again) checking all the fuses. I think it’s the amp fuse. Does anyone have an idea where the fuse is located? Has anyone seen these Infinity amps just die? Any suggestions on how to get at the amp or should I just bypass the thing and install another amp?
Thanks for any advice. No sound while driving is making me nuts.

I really don't know to much about aftermarket gauges. But I think i got ripped off. The guy did say it is used, but works perfectly. But I don't see how it can work when the wires and hose thing are so short. The light looks like is blown looking at the wires inside. Everything I received is in these pics.
blurry pictures i took.

Its an autometer Phantom vacuum/boost gauge. I paid like 31 dollars for it.
