New Software Release - Autotune Is Here! Options

The wait is over! AutoTune has now been officially released for the Dynojet CMD. It requires that the CMD also be connected to a Dynojet WideBand 2, so if you don't have one yet, don't forget to mention you are a mitsubishi-forums.com forum member to get your 10% discount. :bowdown:

For those of you that already have the WB2 installed and connected, upgrade to the newest release version of software (1.1.5.3) and firmware (1.4.4) which is available on our website here: Dynojet CMD downloads.

Now comes the fun part - the Master Control Center (MCC) software will now have some new features... When you connect your CMD, click DEVICE TOOLS, then CONFIGURATION. You will find a new tab for AutoTune.

First you need to put an X in the ENABLE AUTO TUNE box. Then, the other options are:

• Require Run Time – If checked, this is the minimum run time (in seconds) before the AutoTune will “turn on.”
• Max Enrich Trim – the maximum amount of adjustment the AutoTune can make going richer. This ensures that if the sensor went bad or something went wrong with sampling, that it could not add more than this percentage more fuel.
• Max Enlean Trim – the maximum amount of adjustment the AutoTune can make going leaner. This ensures that if the sensor went bad or something went wrong with sampling, that it could not add more than this percentage less fuel.
• Max Sample Lambda – this is the leanest Lambda reading that the AutoTune will attempt to richen up. Leaner Lambda values will be ignored. I picked .92 for our car as once the car enters open loop operation, it’s always quite rich in stock form. This ensures that it’s gone rich before doing adjustments.
• TPS Filter Enabled – If checked, it looks for TP rate of change. If the rate of change exceeds the value in the box, it will stop AutoTuning for the preset amount of time. These are somewhat arbitrary numbers. You will need to log a drive session to see what kind of numbers you want. I found 2500 works well for our car. Log a run while you're playing with the pedal and look at TP rate of change to determine the set point for your car.

When you hit OK, the config will be updated. Then it will want to get the map in the CMD. Once that happens, you will see two new tables in Control Center. They are Target Lambda and Trim. The target Lambda table is where you put in your target values.

Remember that Lambda is related to A/F. Stoichiometric for gasoline is 14.7:1, so Lambda is 1.00. To determine what Lambda value you want, divide your target A/F by stoich and that will be the Lambda value. So 11.5 / 14.7 = 0.78 Lambda. Just like your fuel table, put the target values for the RPM and MAP cells. Determine the voltage of MAP where the car is on boost and in open loop. Check it based on logs and your findings.

The trim table will be populated as you drive. When you next do a get map after some driving, you will see values in the trim table. If you right click on the trim table, you will see the apply options to apply to the base fuel table.
