What is the proper engagement point for the clutch pedal in a 1g DSM?
Mine releases all the way at the top of the pedal throw and it's very annoying. Even after having the clutch, TOB, slave/master cylinders, and pressure plate replaced, the mechanic said he adjusted it, but it was still t the top of the throw. Somehow this doesn't seem feasible since every other manual I have ever driven released at either mid-throw or the bottom of the throw.
Also, if I need to adjust it, I know you used the slave cylinder rod under the dash, but which way do you rotate it to increase engagement and which way do you rotate it to decrease engagement?

Mine is adjusted almost all of the way out (near the end of the rod) with jsut a few threads to spare. Everything is new, and the release is near the bottom of the throw.

Just trying to figure out what the factory setting should be. I can't find it in the hayne's or chilton's manual. I didn't think to look int he FSM... I'll take a gander. EDIT: Nope.. not in the FSM either... :/

you can try to adjust it a little bit a time, drive it and adjust it some more, make sure when hot the clutch is not slipping, or when you shift into gears it will grind. stock clutch will be alot easier to engage than racing one, which i have in my car , hurt my legs if i got stuck in traffic and have to do alot of shifting

My main concern is where the CORRECT engagement point is.
