My daughter has an 03 Galant, was doing some basic maintenance and bought a cabin air filter online at a good price. Come to find though that her ES model did not come equipt with one. Would anyone know if it's just a matter of cutting out the piece of plastic where it is suppose to go and sliding one in or is there a tray that holds the filter in place? Did a search on this but did not find much here on the subject.

iirc...if it has the "cutout" you remove it and then you need the cover that screws over the front .and i think if you get the filter from Mitsu..it comes with it or you can order it separate ..

but its been a while since i have done one...so at least check with a local mitsu dealer...and then check online --you may get it cheaper
