Hey guys longest time no see!
I ran across this supercharger at eBay and others on the Web have said than once you take it apart and remove the shavings this thing really appreciate works.

http://pulsitemeter.com/xsturbos/xsturbos..html

My question is if it does (And it seems others on the Web are having tremendously good luck) would I need to install low compression pistons?
I would run it on low boost just to see if it works which depending on the battery voltage I have seems to be about a maximum 5 lbs of boost but should be about 2.5 which would be what about 50 hp.
I have seen at another website the guys are using it on V8's???
I just need a removable system for smog check time and or invisible that can be hidden behind the wheel well wall because I like to keep a low profile (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif)

I'm the one who did this review.

I'll keep this simple, it's a waste. Don't try.

I'm not gonna waste bucks on that thing if I can help it. But is that the same one in you pic that I posted? Just curious
The one you posted looks like the 60 buck units that's flooded ebay the one I saw looks like the more expensive unit priced at 200-300..
And again I believe you have I'm just curious is all.
I'd throw a bottle under my hood before I waste my cash on silly stuff.

At the time this unit was being made this was the one everyone was after. However me and a few friends looked further into it and found a legit electric supercharger.

The thing made about 8 psi but it took 6 fucking batteries and was only good for burst operation. It also took a super beast alternator.

essentially, for all of the effort the guy could have just bought a small turbo kit and had less weight, more power, and more money left over.

+1^. Electric super/turbochargers are snake oil technology at this point. Maybe someday there will be something out there that works well with less complexity, but I'm not aware of anything at this point. Especially one for our crappy electrical system.

N2O is also a waste IMO. With anything that adds air, either chemically or mechanically, you need to add fuel and a way to control it all. After all that hassle, to run out of N2O in the middle of fun would just be disappointing, whereas a turbo only runs out of fun when it dies or gets maxed out.
