2004 Hazed Headlamps, Is the glass replacebale? Options

Hi there,

My 2004 Outlander front headlamps are covered so much from haze that visibility is significantly reduced. I've tried these off-the-counter voodoo magic dehazer junk, but to no avail.

The curveball is that the haze is on the inside of the headlamp so cleaning tools cannot reach the junk.

My question is, is the plastic headlamp replaceable or do I have to buy a whole new housing? It's not broken, just seems like it has cataracts haha.

If there is no cracks, you can take of the headlamps, heat it and take of the "glass" and polish it on both side. I seen many treaths for repairing plastic headlaps this way.

I also have the same problems my headlight lenses are full of cracks and hazzed.
I wonder why the housing lens itself is more expensive than the whole assembly?
Which one should I get?

I just re-ordered 2 ass'y's for my 2004. To clear your question this must be a translation error from Japanese to english, because the most expensive one is headlamp housing which includes bulbs and wiring harnesses. While headlamp assembly is just the headlight. Ordered them from Mitsubishi OEM online store.

Well received and installed new headlights today and to my surprise they come with bulbs and harnesses even new mounting clips and screws. $284US a piece.
Also found quite a bit of rust behind bumper. I hate rust. Now with the new headlamp assemblies I'm going to be forced to give the Outy a good wash and wax.

Oh wow! Those look great, Outy!

However, the OEM assembly can't become HID or projectors =(

Is there a complete kit out there that can accomplish this? If not, I think I'll have to save up and buy OEM lamps.

You can always install a 9007 Hi/Lo HID conversion kit.

I am now a firm believer of the 3M restoration kit! It's like my headlamps are brand new again! ^.^

What ever you do don't wash the lens with windshield washer or any alchool based washing fluid not even windex. Apparently it removes oil from plastic and eventually will make them crack.

Does anyone know if the 2004 model headlamp assemble will fit into the 2003 model?

I like the arrangement of the parking lamps better int he 2004 style, but need to know before I rush out & buy replacements.....

Headlamps don't look too bad once polished...
They are cracked a bit though, and I really hate looking at them up close.....
